I'm starting as new graduate student , I tried the food here and it was pretty bad. Super bland, I'm sure the chef who cooks it doesn't take much pride in food tasting good, just bland. Go to international house dining hall for good tasting food, but note that international house is not a part of cal dining.

Theree aree sevral dining halls in berkeley, but Foothill is my favorite. This is my first semester in Stern and I live in a girl's dorm, needless to say, I have to find a place where I can eat good, healthy and not so expensive food in order to survive! Foothill is placed conveniently close to where I currently live, so it's my fave and closest place for having dinner or late night snack when I miss the dinner. They are serving dinner from 5pm to 8pm and it is more like all you can eat buffet. The menu is not always the same and that is what I like about it, there is always something new and unique on the menu and so far everything I tried was delicious as heck! They post their menu online every day so you can easily take a sneak-peek at what you will be having for dinner. Â My fave is the tri tip with chimichurri sauce and the foiod is fresh. They also have a decent choice for vegeterians.

A lot less well-stocked than the Bear market, but when you're stuck up the hill, its the closest thing.

The only good thing is sometimes you get very nice and enthusiastic student workers. Otherwise the food is too salty, too oily, very often fried, and tastes weird. One time my friend tasted it and asked if Foothill even really has a kitchen. Not sure how much of their food is actually made here, a lot of things like the beef bulgogi (sometimes called taco beef or bbq beef depending on Foothill's mood) or orange chicken tastes like frozen reheated stuff.
