Always a great stay. Only issue this stay was because of the weather. Big storm caused some flooding and water seeped into the room. The carpet was still a bit damp and it smelled a little musty. With that being said, I will certainly be back. Their staff is always friendly and professional.

Room wasn’t ready at check in @ 4:00.Told us it would be a half hour. Ended up being 1:45 later. Gave us a room next to the busy elevator and entrance (4117). Told us “no other rooms”. No towels in room. Called: “ No anticipated time for towels”. Its 6:30 now, still no towels. Elevator motor is constant noise- can hear people talking in the elevator. No apologies for anything either. Been here happily many times before. This hotel is not cheap either. Comparable prices to very nice hotels in SF like The Line. Time to find a new hotel in Berkeley. Sorry, Doubletree.Thx for reply but that isn’t an apology or an attempt to rectify the situation. When a person pays $300 bucks for a one night stay one has minimum expectations. A simple sorry for the inconvenience would have been nice, or perhaps an offer to call when room is ready. Not just a “come back later”. Having to wait in line three times is ridiculous. No towels? Really? Still charged me the $40 bucks for parking after all that.Hope you dont count on repeat customers.

I used it every time I visited Berkeley since 12 years ago because it had an indoor swimming pool, and recommended it to families with children nearby, but I was so disappointed!!First of all, it may be the season, but there are so many high school students that the hallways are noisy and discarded pizza boxes and hot dog boxes are piled up in the hallways. It was dangerous to dive in the pool wearing clothes (short-sleeved T-shirt, shorts, one-piece, etc., not a swimsuit). There were no towels, so even though I asked for them all day, I didn't receive them until the end (the room was cleaned and I only received one towel - for reference, there were three of us in our family). There weren't enough towels at the pool, so you had to bring them quickly when they arrived. There were towels that looked like mats at late hours, but even those weren't enough.I went there with high expectations after a long time since the pandemic ended, but I was so disappointed. There was also a tax on the parking fee when checking out!!I don't think I will use the double tree next time I visit Berkeley.Rooms: It is in satisfactory condition.Noteworthy details: It's noisy and it's hard to find towels.

Our recent stay was a big disappointment. There were no rooms available at check in time 4:00pm on 2/17/24. We waited until 5:30 PM to finally check into a room which was unacceptable due to the heavy odor of marijuana. We were assigned to an alternate room, in which there were no towels. This is certainly not the level of service that we expect from a Hilton hotel and we will not be staying at the Marina Doubletree in the future.Respectfully,Molly Gaines

I have to start by saying, do not be dissuaded to book here due to most reviews. People are more likely to post to complain they're bad experiences or due to high expectations that weren't met. I'm glad I booked this hotel regardless of the less than reviews on google and yelp. My experience could not have gone smoother. Reading amenities before booking, yes there is a $35 overnight parking fee so if you look at the site, there are no hidden charges so I was fine with that. At check in on 2/9/24 at 2PM we were greeted very warmly, given their delicious warm cookies and offered bottled water. Also while checking in, we decided on upgrading to a water front view which was only a $30 upgrade from the room we already paid for. Front desk staff and valet that we had at that time couldn't have been more awesome and accommodating and genuinely seemed to care that we were happy and taken care of. Bottom-line, they were absolutely fabulous. And also, yes, we also requested to have early check-in. We were given a floor room with a patio with the requested water view and I must say, while yes the rooms were a little dated by only a decade however, they were absolutely clean, neat and clean smelling. And while walking the grounds every staff member we came across were absolutely friendly. From maintenance to housekeeping and other staff that moved throughout the location. Even at check out the next day, front desk was awesome and teased why we were leaving so soon, playful banter like that makes it personable and fun that we were so tempted to stay one more night. While I was not expecting a 5 star hotel I definitely didn't get a 3 star or less. They hold at a solid 4 and I do plan to make that one of my regular places to stay when we decide to go up North from our home in Los Angeles.

This place is absolutely beautiful and the amenities are also a big plus to be able to have everything right there for you! As someone who doesn't get weekends off or vacation often this was a big deal. I work in hospitality myself and as far as the customer service goes I was surprised how unaccommodating the front desk was and the bartenders. One front desk agent was on her phone and ignored my husband because she was on a personal call, then she should have not been right in the lobby. When I asked the same agent the next day if I can have housekeeping come to the room just to change the b doing because I had spilled soup she said "ugh, I don't think they can they are busy" I said all I needed was for them to be taken and new ones because I can't sleep or lay down on my bed. She wrote down he room number and said she would "ask" and didn't even look at me. I called the desk an hour and a half later to double check and she said yeah let me reach out to them so I initially she didn't even reach out to them just to ask for me. Housekeeping did a great job at following up and helping me. My husband and I went out for a very lovely dinner evening and had such a nice time so when we can back we wanted one last glass of wine. He went to the bar at 10:42 and as one bartender was about to say hello and pour the glasses, his superior came up to my husband and said last call is at 10:45 but it wasn't 10:45. Then he said well we weren't in the door at 10:40 that's why. I don't understand the major issue and I have worked in this industry for a while and know the process. The tones could have been more pleasant or understanding and honestly it was disappointing.

My two-week stay at this hotel left me with mixed impressions:Service: The front desk and valet staff were friendly and helpful. However, I found the cashiers and hostesses to be quite the opposite, lacking in warmth and assistance.Restaurant: Dining experiences varied greatly. Dinners were disappointing with greasy, overpriced dishes, small portions, and slow service in an often empty dining room. Breakfast, on the other hand, was delightful with excellent food and service. The morning hostess was welcoming, a stark contrast to her evening counterpart.Room: My room had an adjoining door, which meant my comfort depended heavily on my neighbors. This was hit or miss; some days were peaceful, others not so much.Location: The hotel's location is appealing, but it comes with downsides. Cell phone reception was poor, and it was challenging to order online taxi services.Lobby Amenities: A highlight was the water cooler in the lobby. Being able to refill my water bottle there was a significant convenience for me.
