“Pros: Easy parking at the garage next-door, there’s not a bad seat in the house, seats are fairly roomy with a little more than average leg room in front, restrooms are decent, free water near the concession stand, people are friendly, acoustic sounds great.

Cons; no assigned seating, there are not very many things to eat at the concession stand, and if you are gluten-free, you are out of luck.

All in all, a fabulous venue. If you get an intermission, you could run back to your car for a snack just next-door.”

“My son thrives at Berkeley Hills Nursery School and we could not be happier! The teachers and the director have 10 - 20+ years of experience. I trust them 100% as experts in their field to help nurture and develop my son.My son does well at this small school, with an intimate group of friends. Because of the low student to teacher ratio, the teachers are very familiar with my son as a unique individual. The director, Kathleen, is top-notch, easy to work with, and very involved with the kids. Kathleen makes our parent "tasks" easy: applying was free and simple, enrollment steps were clear, and daily communication is concise (made even easier through an app).I like that teachers lead activities for the whole group of kids. The play-based activities get my son moving and learning. For example, today the kiddos moved through an obstacle course that helped them with balance, and fine and gross motor skills. They also do art, yoga, and walks in the neighborhood.Lastly, we have a strong parent community, with adult and family social events. We are so happy to have found this gem in the hills!”

“Had some good meals here the vegetarian spaghetti is good. And got a new Mountain Hardware jacket from the donations closet along with a lightweight cheese wiz orange bicycle jacket when I needed it when I was homeless.

Ara is the case manager and is super understanding. There is laundry for those who really need to use the machines and a sign up process for personal lockers.

The Veterans Museum on the other side of the building is I hope going to be available year round even in the summer because it's not safe to sleep on the street.”

“I went to this book store with my mom. I'm not into books, but my mom is a big reader. I think all the books are donated or they bought. My mom bought three books, just for $4.50. Really cheap books. That's my 5 stars.”

“Since I started coming to Left Margin Lit's workspace for writers I've been hitting my writing goals. I love working quietly alongside others, then getting to learn about their projects and passions over lunch. Everyone is friendly, kind, interesting and insightful. Its also a very welcoming space - anyone who is passionate about writing is welcome, no matter how new they are to the practice. This is the community I've been needing and I feel so lucky to have found it.”

“My daughter just started at Crowden as a 7th grader. She is a complete beginner in violin but the music faculty has been very understanding and appreciative of her aptitude to learn. So far, we are having only positive experiences. She is learning music at her level, and following the academic program of her grade. Everyone at school is extremely understanding, adults and the kids. The small class size makes it for a better learning environment for my daughter because she is usually very distracted at school. While the school still follows the common core program, they also have art and French classes. Overall, the breakdown of classes reminded me of a more European school, with shorter periods, which helps kids to focus and pay attention in each class. My daughter also enjoys the school and really looks forward to having her first concert.”
