Went to city sports during a visit to Berkeley and really enjoyed it! It's a nice, clean gym with plenty of weights and space. They have tons of cardio machines as well. I'd definitely recommend coming here during a visit or even signing up for a long term membership

The cleaning staff is always great and detailed. But why are they weights never where they're supposed to be? Obviously the cleaning staff wouldn't lift all of that, but where are the trainers maintaining the space?

Working out here has been great. Kaleb has been super helpful with allowing my mom to get into the gym while I'm in town. Super happy with my gym. Come check it out

They don't allow for people to use equipment from the 'personal training area' but neglect to have the same equipment available for general use. Poorly maintained machines and jaded/burnt out staff - they're generally nice, but a couple are rude and entitled. I asked for them to purchase more kettlebells and was advised to 'buy your own and leave them here' by a manager.

Caleb was super helpful! From San Diego and came in from out of town. Needed a place to work out after working on site and absolutely love the gym!! Best gym in town.

I want to love this gym. They have a ton of equipment and there are lots of different ways to work out, which I appreciate. However, their cleanliness is lacking. Almost every time I go, I have to wander around the whole top floor to find sanitizing wipes - there are at least 4 stations on that floor, but last time I went, NONE of them had wipes. Same thing goes for the hand sanitizer stations - a lot of times they are empty or not working. Also, that place could use some ventilation. It feels stagnant and stuffy. I know folks are "over" the pandemic but Covid is still very much a thing, and it would be great if City Sports could take a more proactive approach to keeping us all healthy.

Love this gym! I've been a member for a couple months now and it's been amazing. I really appreciate the state of the art facilities. The staff is super welcoming and accommodating! Highly recommend for Cal students and alumni that are sick of the RSF.

I like the convenience and flexibility of a gym which is why I joined city sports. Also I got a good deal for $35 and I get to bring in 2 guests. The facility is pretty clean and I like how I can go whenever I want before or after work. And Caleb the sales counselor is pretty cool. The only thing is I don't like the smell of their hand sanitizer, it smells like it's 90% rubbing alcohol, very strong.

The gym is cool, it's not brand new so I don't expect perfection with cleaning, etc. especially since a lot of gyms make their front desk employees or low paid janitors clean... anyways. I signed up last summer hoping for the best, and chose an enrollment fee that I was told works best for having a one year membership at minimum. Fine whatever, paid some other additional membership fee two weeks later. Then about a month after that (or less) they cancelled the childcare. I couldn't go to the gym anymore without that so I asked for this money to be refunded (it was like around $150 total), they could keep the monthly fees I'd paid since I'd been using the gym for almost two months, but only 1 since hearing about the closure of that service. It was a no, sighting they did not give false advertisement bc the sales person & company didn't know they'd be closing childcare, and then they took two more months of fees after the kids zone was closed as well. Overall a huge waste of money, poor customer service, and unfortunately this was the last gym in the area that offered childcare so big bummer. Gotta just workout at home for now until I move...

Great gym that stays very clean. Also, has a ton of different machines. Easy to understand lay out and not horrible foot traffic depending on when you go. Only complaint is parking can be an issue sometimes.

Often way over crowded and the showers and lockers smell disgusting. There is usually a yellow sign that says someone is cleaning but somehow doesn't cut it. I always gag from rotten feet smell.

Came by with my sister a couple times. Always had a great experience. Great location, friendly staff and super clean environment. Gym has great equipment and not much of a long wait considering the size of the gym. Highly recommend!

I'm in search of a new gym after I ended my membership in Equinox and 24 Hour Fitness. I signed up for a 3 day pass online and came here. Michael gave me a tour of the facility and then we sat down and went to a hard sell. He was trying to give me a good discount but I told him a want to use my free pass first and see it myself if this is the gym I am looking for. I would like to try it first before I make a decision in signing up as a new member. But he was rushing me, I feel like he wants me to make decision right away. Mike M (the Manager) also tried so hard to convince me and was giving me another discount just so I would sign up on that day. The 3 day pass will depend if you give them an assurance you will join the club. Otherwise they will make an excuses so you won't be able to use the free pass. I'm very disappointed! All they care is money, their sales. You better just remove the 3 day free pass in your website as this is a total Scam. I have a high hopes with this gym even I heard a lot of bad comments from other people, But after my experience no wonder why they have a lot of complaints and a very poor rating in yelp and google

Love how close this is to home and the mix of classes and weights! Offers personal training too
