I'd been looking for my next road bike for a little while and settled on a Factor Ostro VAM. I'm somewhat familiar with the brand and just needed to find a bike shop to work with for my order. I of course went to the Factor website but wanted to see if I might be able to get a better deal on the bike. Checking the list of shops on Factor's website didn't give me a bike in my size in inventory so I continued looking online. I came across Beyond Aero and started checking out reviews and things. Psychotically, I even used google maps to view the street the store is on - just to make sure things were ok! Fortunately, Andres has a number of great reviews so that put me at ease. I knew I wanted the Ostro VAM and I was keen for Beyond Aero's build using Zipp wheels so I emailed the shop. Andres was quick to respond. He's also very patient as I submitted a tonne of questions about the build, sizing, possible swaps, and all sorts of things. Each time Andres responded promptly and never made me feel like I was wasting his time. Unfortunately, Andres didn't have the integrated handlebar/stem combo I was looking for so we agreed a price reflecting that and we made the deal. Andres has built up the bike as far as he can and it's now winging its way to me. I'm beyond excited (get it?) for the bike to arrive and thank Andres so much for putting up with all of my questions and indecision. I do wish I'd been able to visit the shop to more fully experience the buying process but maybe I'll get out there one day. As it stands, a 56cm white/chrome Ostro Vam with Sram Force AXS, power meter, and Zipp 404s is heading my way right now! Thank you again Andres!5/8 Update. The bike arrived very well packed. I had a bit of building to do since I wanted a different handlebar setup so just got all of that done. My build is:56cm Factor Ostro VAM in pearl white and chromeSram force axs with quark power meterZipp 404 wheelsBlack inc aero integrated stem and handlebarPirelli P zero 28mil tubeless tire setupSella Italia SLRMy bike has the cycliq fly 6 camera on the back - don’t waste your time with that until the battery can last more than 2 hours!I’ve only ridden the bike up and down the street but it feels solid and everything is rolling smoothly. Thank you again, Andres!8/17: Another update! I took advantage of a sale BA was having and got some new bling for my road bike. I originally had the Sram Force AXS groupset but upgraded. You can see from the pics I didn't stretch for the crankset though - I'm not Bill Gates! Anyway, the groupset arrived and was straight forward to install using a few online videos. I needed to buy a cable routing tool - about $15 on Amazon, and you need a brake bleed kit but I dad one so all good there. The kit is chromed on the brake calipers and levers, then mostly blacked out for the rest of the components which suits my white Factor Ostro VAM with Chrome logos quite nicely. Shifting is smooth and quiet except for the chain's noise which you would get with all groupsets. Shifting is intuitive with my setup being the right lever shifts to a higher gear and the left lever shifting to a lower gear - different from the mechanical setup but perhaps more logical. I can't speak to feeling a weight difference - I'm not that much of a weight weenie - but there is a psychological affect to having Sram's top groupset on your bike. Does the upgrade make me faster? Probably not. But does the upgrade make me feel faster? Absolutely! Call it superficial if you want but I like it! All-in-all, I'm very pleased with the purchase and Andres made it super simple to order, as always. Thanks Andres!

This review is purely based on customer service that Andreas delivered on. No actual purchase was made. Was in the market for a road frameset and Andreas helped me all the way through making extra time to provide me with options, pictures and willingness to hear. I have been at enough bike shops to differentiate between good and poor customer service and this shop definitely come out on the positive side. Unfortunately, the color scheme I was looking for was not available and hence had to go a different route but wouldn't hesitate to work with Andreas in the future if the opportunity arose.

Andres, Thanks for confirming the details of my review and the condescending attitude you take with customers. And yes, I'm quite proud of my 10 years of triathlon. Your business has quite a few negative 1 star reviews. That seems appropriate.

The $250 bike fit was not worth it. Here are my critiques: A. The diagram of results I received was confusing and incorrect. First, the labeling of saddle height was incorrect. It showed a purely Y coordinate on the diagram. Second, (this is a less obvious but still important issue) the measurement from tip of saddle to shifter trough is error-prone. By this I mean: maybe I do it one way, maybe you do it another. I looked around my hoods and there was nothing obvious to pinpoint, given the curvature of the area. A photo and specific written instruction might help. I couldn't find any online usage of the term to clarify. Here's my suggestion: to optimize for customer experience, it would be much better to use the same shift levers as the customer (Ultegra levers are super common) and give a clearer label, such as: "distance from saddle tip to closest part of the shifter hood" B. I was disappointed that the results were not printed out right away as I walked out of the shop. Worse, there was a 3 day delay before I received the write-up. C. I expected a more thorough fit. For example: - Andres didn't measure my feet or look at my cleats until I asked. - He didn't measure leg length. - He didn't measure my arms or shoulders. D. I think some aspects of the fit were dubious. For example, Andres told me that a higher speed/cadence in a particular position is a valid way to claim that one position is better than another. Here's how I understand it: when using a bike ergometer set to a particular wattage, power is power. A higher or lower cadence (say 75 versus 80) is not a valid way to say one position is better than another. (To put it another way, rotational power equals torque times revolutions per minute. When using a constant-power setting on an ergometer, if I'm spinning 5% faster, I'm also applying 5% less torque.) Overall, this has not been a satisfying experience given the $250 price and delays. While I generally appreciate Andres' expertise, time, and effort, this was not a $250 bike fit. It was worth about half of that, at most. I shared this feedback with Andres in August 2019, but he has not yet responded. So I'm posting here in the hopes that other potential customers can either (a) get a better fit elsewhere or (b) Andres can improve the value of his bike fit.

These guy came to the Half Moon Bay triathlon and gave our bikes a few adjustments to get them ready for the race. I cam in first place (in my category) so they must have really helped because I could not have done it on my own.

Looks to me like a scam shop. A friend told me that on bike exchange website that aero bikes had a cervelo r5 etap bike for 3000.00. hard to believe, so I checked it out..sure enough!! that is what it says on bike exchange!! etap and even zipp wheels, just sent a message and Andre said..that is for just frame and fork??? Really? so why do you advertise it with the whole set up? mmmm scam?? bait and switch maybe? 125942059 is the item number on the ad and everything...not listed as just frame and fork...beware!!!!
