We feel so lucky to have BHNS! The preschool is play-based, but provides lots of structured projects for kids to explore different topics. Our son is thriving in the Red Room (for younger kids), and we plan to continue next year in the Blue Room. The kids spent much of the day outdoors and make frequent trips to the park...

We love Berkeley Hills Nursery School. My brother and sister went there and had a great experience about 30 years ago and loved it so much that my husband and I decided to send our own kids there. Both the teachers and the community are wonderful.

About Berkeley Hills Nursery School
Our cozy little school in the Berkeley Hills is now scheduling visits for individual families with children who will be 2 years, 9 months of age by September 1. Tours take place most weekday mornings, so get in touch if you would like to see our treehouse-like school and our experienced and caring teachers in action. As we move out of the pandemic our focus is to help young children feel comfortable and settled in a group environment and have the opportunity to practice and develop their interpersonal skills before heading off to elementary school. Self-advocacy, kindness and empathy are also important elements of Kindergarten readiness along with (playful!) explorations of pre-literacy and math skills.
