I got my Associates degree while working full-time and going to school full-time in the PACE program. I won't say it was easy but I will tell you that the Professors and Staff at Berkeley City College (then Vista Community College) gave me their full attention, assistance, and support from the beginning of the program all the way through to graduation. I was the first person in my family to get a degree. I am proud, my family was proud, and the professors and staff were proud. I couldn't have had a better introduction to my college pathway!

I think the bookstore is great, this is a review specifically for an inefficient part of their system. They do not have an official option at checkout for "PICK UP" --- they require you to "SHIP" yet write in the notes that you will pick up, which charges you $7.50 shipping fee. They are supposed to refund you but then you have to keep a mental note of this and keep track of it because it is not immediate. Of course you are ordering books at the beginning of the semester and you are busy trying to get yourself organized --- and the bookstore is naturally very busy filling orders. Probably really easy to lose track of your money for both sides. In my view, this is a fail.On the other hand, I do appreciate that you are able to convert a rental into a purchase online without having to call or go to the store so long as you save your student ID / email info so that your orders are stored.I hope they fix the shipping fee / pick up issue. I'll update to 5 stars when that happens. Thanks bkstr.com

For the most part I've been treated well by staff. I would like to add that it may feel like hit and miss with people so finding and staying in touch with good contacts is important!!

The staff are always very helpful and efficient. The line generally moves quickly. There isn't much there, so don't expect a monster selection of supplies, but they have all the essentials. There are also vending machines outside for testing materials, pens, pencils and blue books and such

This has to be one of the better Junior College experiences. Such a blended learning environment. Maybe because it's so close to Cal Berkeley.

A tiny corner store in between the double doors of the student lounge. Bought a workbook for math. A suggestion would be that they should hire more associates to make the checkout process more efficient.

Counseling services is horrible. I was waiting in the line for a couple of hours, since I had very important questions, but the front desk "mistakenly" removed my name from the list, and I had to enter my name again, and go back to the end of the line. When I asked her(the woman in the front desk), she was rude, and she made it obvious that she doesn't care about my issue, and she didn't apologize for her mistake. After waiting for a COUPLE OF HOURS, I got so frustrated and left the line, and never returned to counseling office again, however it was my first semester there, and I had lots of questions... It's a small school, with no food services. There are two "filthy", old microwaves, and one of them doesn't work. There's only ONE Physics instructor in the Science Department.

Small store with the option of ordering books not I'm store. Store manager and staff are friendly and helpful. Hours aren't as great, store does not open past 5:00p and not open on weekends.

Life at Berkeley City College is not all about studying. It is a great place to meet new friends, builds your new language and have fun in learning American Sign Language. Come and register ASL course.
