I had a great experience buying several dozen S4S maple boards (for a home interior decor project) from Tony Blomert at Ashby Lumber. Their price was reasonable, and they delivered exactly within the quoted timeframe to my home in Mountain View. And Tony's communication was very responsive, friendly, and thorough. Two thumbs up!

Materials are good quality , but I hade a very uncomfortable problem in that store but Mario Oropeza helped me to solve it. So if you have any concerns in that store, don't hesitate to ask them to clarify it for you. They are prompt to respond.

Went to Ashby Lumber hour before closing on Saturday with a broken deadbolt lock looking to buy a new one. Charles spent half an hour fiddling with the lock... put it back together... and Voila
good as new at no cost. Thanks Charles and Vince and Ashby Lumber.

We came into Ashby on a whim and wanted to get some ideas/information on options for an upcoming bathroom remodel. We were greeted by Nikhi, who listened to our design wants and needs. She printed product specification sheets and provided pricing for a few different options we liked. She didn't mention that they were closing in 5 minutes, instead, she made sure we had what we needed to discuss what we learned and make decisions from home. Helpful, friendly, patient. We'll be back.

Talk about excellent customer service! I needed a specific sized piece of wood for a project I was working on so called the store to ask if they'd cut to size less than 12" as Home Depot and Lowe's won't cut less than 12" and they said yes. Went down to the shop, asked if I could buy lumber and get it cut down to a 6" x 7" x 2.5" block and they pointed me towards their scrap bin, free of charge! I went over to the scrap bin and asked one of the people cutting lumber for any scraps and he walked me over to their selection of what I assume was "bad" lumber as they had nothing in the scrap bin, measured a couple pieces for me, let me make my selection, and then cut just what I needed. Blown away with how friendly everyone was and willingness to help. Apologies for not getting names.

My tub stopper broke and I was certain it would take many attempts to find the part. At Ashby Lumber I talked with Francis Combes. He had the new part in a box under his desk. He gave it to me for no charge. That made my day. He was kind and thoughtful and I was very grateful to him. Many thanks to Francis Combes.

We purchased French patio doors thru Ashby Lumber. Jeremy was our salesperson and he was exceptionally helpful throughout the process. Purchasing doors can be a complex process due to all of the variables and design choices that manufacturers offer. Jeremy took us through all of our options and offered his opinion of the pros and cons of various design styles. In short, we love our Marvin French doors and I highly recommend Jeremy as your source for any purchasing decisions that involve new door projects and patio door renovations on your home.

Skip Home depot and go to Ashby. Local store and customer service is top notch! We'll be going back there for phase 2 of our home renovation project. Big shout out to Mike Howard, he's the best!
