“We went to Airport Appliance in Emeryville after a salesperson at Home Depot told us there's essentially no difference in quality between their washing machines, regardless of price. In contrast, Manny, Manuel Lewis, Jr., the salesperson at Airport Appliance was very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the tiers within brands, whether parts are easily available, and what people say about how well machines with and without agitators work. He also helped us to understand different dishwasher options. They offer a service for connecting the dishwasher that HD does not and their delivery is faster and free. If machines don't fit when delivered, they can be returned free of charge, and if they arrive damaged, their price can be reduced or they can be returned. There is also a much larger selection to look at of all appliances. Great experience.”
“I love this place. I live nearby and bought both a vacuum cleaner and sewing machine from them. I have had the vacuum, a Meile White Star, repaired a time or two here, and have always been happy with their service, The vacuum finally lost its will to live after 25 years, and I decided to replace it with the current model. They guaranteed to match online prices, and when I came home, I discovered a sale price at Amazon that was significantly less than I'd paid. I went back to Grand Lake Sew & Vac and they looked it up and gave me a refund immediately. These folks are true to their word and are excellent technicians. I ams o glad I can support this local business and so glad they are in my neighborhood.”

“The staff at the Pacific Kitchen Life in Oakland provided excellent service to us when purchasing this hood in May 2024. The staff was very detailed and think ahead what were needed in order to install the hood. I purchased the first hood at this store over 10 years ago, and it is still working without any issue. Now I have a new home and need a new hood. I would only go to Pacific Kitchen Life to buy. The installation has been professional. The gentlemen came install the hoods today on May 25, 2024 also provided fast and excellent service. They walked us through how to use the hood and answered all the questions we had. It used only one hour for the installation. It is a thumb up experience. Highly recommended!!”

“If you need anything for your restaurant or food service business, this is the place. It's relatively new (3 years old) and the service is excellent. Look for Tim. He will take care of you. Super friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything to me and gave me personalized attention. Great guy! Prices are very reasonable here, and he made sure to hook me up. They also sell all the major brands you will need. If you're a casual home chef, they also have appliances and kitchen tools for you. 5 stars!”

“Another visit to the Best Buy store on Harrison Street, this time in search of a shredder to replace one that had passed hopefully to a better place after it's over 20 years with me. Wonderfully helpful person led me to them and explained the difference btwn the lower cost model and the higher cost model. First time ever that I learned about how long one could use a shredder at one time. Explained other features. Wish I had written down his name, but I also must emphasize that everyone in the store - from security guard to people on the floor helping customers, to check out personnel and even security guards are very helpful, very welcoming, and I can only compare them to the service at Nordstroms in their glory days Selection of goods is good, value excellent. It is a joy and pleasure to shop here, as everyone gives outstanding customer service. Thank you!”

“Our Bertazzoni range has been giving us problems since the beginning. Multiple calls to the headquarters resulted in them sending terrible technicians to our home, if they even came! Sometimes no one would show up! Finally, after almost a year, they put us in touch with Purcell Murray, who sent Juan to fix our stove. Juan is definitely one of the most personable, knowledgeable appliance professional that we've ever worked with. He made us feel so much better about this purchase, and also supported us in filing for an extended warranty. After about two hours, he fixed all of the major problems. “We visited on 7/10/23, looking for a length of flexible spa hose to finish setting up a hot tub in our backyard. We had already gone to one Home Depot and had issues. We located the hose in question, but wanted to buy per-foot, rather than an entire roll of hose. This was something they had a SKU for, but they didn't have 8 feet of loose tubing for us. Eventually, we took the roll up to check out and explained the situation to Sylvia. Other places might insist that we buy the entire roll. Instead, she stuck with us, and found Jose, who could do the cutting we needed.Thank you to Sylvia and Jose for going above and beyond in order to make it work. It took a little while to get the right people, but they didn't abandon us, and they made sure to keep with it until we had resolution.”
