We have bought several pieces from Chris and Kobe over the past few years, and we have always been more than happy. The chairs and loveseats are extremely comfortable, as well as being elegant in appearance and design. Every piece that we bought has been brought up to like-new appearance, using authentic finishing materials. We have, also, brought in pieces that we found elsewhere, and had Chris refinish and repair minor damage, and the results exceeded our expectations. Chris is also very knowledgeable of mid-century modern furniture designers, as well as suppliers of replacement parts (such as chair springs). Despite his extensive knowledge, Chris is very approachable and not the least bit condescending. If we had a complaint, it would only be that we are always tempted to buy more exquisite pieces of furniture, when ever we visit the warehouse.

I love this place, I think it sells quite luxurious things at crazy prices, very cheap, all for the high quality of products, I'm anxious to have money again to continue renovating my house with these products

Yes, it is not a ppl with low budget however, you will find the finest, healthiest, beautiful and most comfortable chairs and tables. The update they have do is amazing. It's minimal so that they won't destroy the original design and the characters. Kobe was very helpful finding the right height chairs for me. Not just the balance of table and chairs but also how I sit on it and how my feet land on the floor. It came out beyond from my original budget but I still think it was a great deal once I understood the delicacies of their craftsmanship. Highly recommended for those who cares what you use in daily life! I'm so grateful for the pieces I purchased!

I have purchased two items from Antiques and Modern and I cannot say enough good things about them! Chris was extremely helpful in finding just the right pieces - a beautiful credenza for our dining room and the most perfect coffee table for our living room. Both were expertly restored and then delivered safely to our home (thanks Kobie!). Do not wait to visit them if you are looking for special midcentury pieces for your home!

This store and the owners are absolutely incredible! They have an amazing selection of super stylish mid-century modern furniture and art. I recently took back a chair my cat knocked over and broke, and they fixed it and made it look like nothing ever happened. These people possess and artistry and expertise unmatched in the Bay Area!

I thought furniture shopping was all but shut down during the Covid-19 pandemic. I saw a beautiful desk on the Antiques and Modern website, and inquired by e-mail. I got a quick response answering my questions, then an invitation to "view" the piece by video chat. I was 99% sure I would love the desk after seeing it on video, but Chris allowed me to make my final decision after seeing the desk in person on delivery. The desk is stunning, and the craftsmanship and care Chris and his team took in restoring the desk are readily apparent. The moving team did a fantastic job--super conscientious. I don't think I have ever had a better experience buying a piece of furniture--really a piece of art! I wish my house were twice as big so I could get more of Chris's furniture!

Antiques & Modern is a fabulous mid-century designer furniture resource. Moved a few times throughout the Bay and purchased many pieces of furniture over the years. Chris and Kobe are fabulous to work with, quick to respond, easy to arrange pick up/drops off with and have generously fixed & restored our own damaged mid-cent. furniture when needed. They know their stuff! The showrooms are fun to visit- a time capsule of beautiful designer retro items, and they are knowledgeable about it all! This 2020 health and economic crisis will negatively effect many great local businesses- including this one. I encourage a visit to this store/warehouse (when to doors re-open post Covid19 restrictions). Even with no immediate need for furniture, its a museum field trip! Hard not to find a beautiful item that will entice you. Plus owners are informative and fun to talk with about mid-century expertise. An East Bay gem.

There is a wonderful selection at Antiques and Modern! We bought a Danish modern dining table and chairs set for our home. It was painstakingly restored and we even were able to pick out the upholstery fabric. Kobe was so helpful and we appreciate his design sense. We will definitely be back to purchase other furnishings for our home.

We have purchased a number of pieces of furniture over the last few years, and have always have a good experience. The furniture is all very handsome, and Chris and Kobe do a great job restoring the wood finishes. They even made a custom headboard for us, from one that was too large. We recently got a dining room table and chairs that we are very happy with.

They have both a store near downtown Berkeley but when we showed up they were closed because they had their warehouse open. We drove there and they had s large selection. Warehouse had a parking lot the store had street parking.

Man, these guys are so amazing. The stand out for me was how attentive and sweet they are. This was our first piece of "real" furniture and even though they are experts not once did I feel awkward with them. They listened, intuited and led us to an amazing dining room table. They did a beautiful job refinishing and delivered it, no muss, no fuss. So, so happy. I can totally understand why they only have 5 star reviews. Visit the store front and the warehouse, they are both incredible.
