My necklace repair was done for free(clasp problem). I did not have cash (it costed $2.00) but she waived the cost and just told me to drop it off when I’m in the area again. Her shop was tucked in behind other stores but well worth the trip. The jewelry is beautiful and stylish. Such a great find!

When I wanted a copper necklace I consulted with Anni Ayres Forcum. She has helped me out in the past with repairs on vintage jewelry and I love her unusual vintage pieces - especially her collection of snake rings. Anni had lots of vintage copper pieces and put together a fabulous piece of jewelry for me using vintage earrings with backs removed, a copper ball and chain. I wanted the necklace to wear with a certain sweater, however I find myself wearing it just about every day! And people stop me on the street all the time to comment on it. Anni's creativity is amazing.

A jewel at the crown of Solano Ave. Anni has a natty jewelry gallery space where she creates her own jeweler and does repairs at her workbench at the rear of the shop. The gallery has really nice silver and gold earrings, bracelets and necklaces she designs herself along with some antiques and collectables, such as some fashionable fun old sunglasses. Take your pick. Her window display facing the tiny alley off of Solano Ave. is awesome. I have purchased her jeweler as gifts, and especially like the wow-who-made-those cubist earrings she creates. I have commissioned wedding rings for me and mine and love her work. She has done some repairs for me, antique ring resized, wife's necklace clasp replaced, and her work is professional and reasonably priced. Her gallery is the first store down the alley from her husband's cluttered antiques shop (Rosebud Gallery) which directly faces Solano. So look for Rosebud. If you're feeling daring, sit down on one of the vintage chairs in front of Rosebud and you will be sure to meet Anni's husband right quick. Ha. I recommend. Way cool, unique jewelry.

I found the Anni Ayers Forcum Gallery because of an award Anni won, Best Hidden Treasure Trove of the East Bay in 2001. Her jewelry is finely crafted and quite unique. "If you stumbled into the Rosebud Gallery on Solano Avenue and caught the owner on a bad day, you might not venture into the rooms beyond. When he's in a mood, he can resemble a Komodo dragon short on white rats. But if you scurried through to the attached Anni Ayers Forcum Gallery (or if you cheated and took the alleyway), you'd find jazz playing softly and Anni toiling quietly away behind her jewel cases, beveling a stone into a brooch or ring. This is jewelry for women, not ladies -- strong, sculptural pieces that look like something a soigne flapper might wear. Anni makes much of it herself and collects other items when they catch her discerning eye. Some of her creations have Cubist sympathies -- geometric earrings made of long, skinny tubes ending in chubby 3D triangles; a brooch of colorful semiprecious inlay surrounded by boldly patterned jags and rounded prongs. Some are as fanciful as a tiny pair of oxidized silver high-heeled pumps or jacks, or a fish pin with a textured silver head, a marble for a belly, and a few strands of coral for a tail. The beautifully crafted shapes evoke a more elegant past, a Jazz Age remembrance. (And cut the Komodo dragon some slack -- he is, after all, guarding the family jewels.)"

The most beautiful little shop. Amazing selection of modern jewelery, vintage sunglasses, a few special bags & scarves. Anni Ayers has her own line she designs & makes herself. Check it out.
