The room was ok but there was very little space to pass between the bed & tv to get to the bathroom. I had to walk sideways & I’m not a big person. Location was good for a concert attendance at the Greek theatre, 1/2 hour brisk walk. My biggest complaint is that I am certain that I left my shoes in the room but they deny finding them. Good sketchers. ?

Very friendly staff, easy checkin, coffee, tea and water in the lobby all day, made to order breakfast if you want it for a small fee, snacks for purchase, and very clean. Central to walk a lot of places, about 1.5 mile walk to the Greek theater. We stayed In a king room on third floor and it was spacious and comfortable with all the needed amenities. Definitely would stay again.

Absolutely LOVED this hotel. It’s conveniently located a 10-minute Uber or Lyft ride from the Berkeley Amtrak station (about a 1-mile walk) and there were plenty of things to catch our interest nearby. Jeroen the manager (pronounced “yor-oon” was amazing both at check-in and checkout). They have loaner bikes in the lobby as well as a kegerator full of kombucha. Our room had plenty of natural light with a nice view and the bed was comfy. There is valet parking but of course all parking in the Bay Area costs money. It’s well worth it.We will definitely be back next time we’re in Berkeley.Rooms: The rooms are spacious and modern. The room we had (316) was a corner room looking over the street.Nearby activities: There were quite a few restaurants and shops nearby. We walked less than 10 minutes to a place for great pedicures too!Safety: A key card is required to enter the building after a certain time, so that is reassuring, but there weren’t any unsavory characters around to worry about.Walkability: Walk half a mile in any direction and you’ll find something to do or eat.Food & drinks: They have a menu you can order off of to have breakfast brought to your room or you can have it down in the lobby.Noteworthy details: The loaner bikes and kombucha keg made me smile even though we didn’t partake of either during our short stay.

I've stayed here twice and really enjoyed it. It's a convenient location, the staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean/quiet/comfortable. They've got bikes you can borrow and drinks in the lobby, plus a very nice rooftop hangout. I've been able to find street parking. A good perch for exploring Berkeley. BART stop is just down the street and university is a nice mile or so walk. The neighborhood is grittier than Elwood or others, but was safe and quiet nonetheless. I'd stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was awesome. Our room was a king bed. Small room but enough to move around. Loved that windows open a little. The fresh air is nice. Shower was amazing. Stayed hot and constant pressure. Great for a tall guy or gal. Area was OK. Didn't have any problems. Liked that a 7-11 was across the street. Perfect place to stay if going to concert in Berkeley. They offer a pay for breakfast and free coffee. Only complaint was TV remote barely worked.

It was the most unaccommodating hotel I have ever been to; they refused to park my minivan in their garage. The front desk attendant offered zero suggestions on a place to park and keep my belongings safe. The attendee was happy to have us leave without a resolution or any sort of suggestion. It is very sad, as travelers unfamiliar with the area should be given zero guidance. Wouldn't you say that is common practice? In addition, which was the icing on the cake, a refund was not granted, so they are now an unethical business.

The rooms were great when I first checked in. However, I stayed three nights in total and there were absolutely no housekeeping. We were told that they would do housekeeping every other day and that additional cleaning would have to be requested in advance. I requested additional housekeeping for the first day, nothing. I even scanned the QR code to leave a tip for the housekeeper in advance. So I thought they would come back the second day since they said they would every other day. Again, nothing. The third day, nothing. The trash wasn’t taken out. The bed wasn’t made. Nothing. Even though they received the tip. The housekeepers and I say hi to each other every morning in the hallway, but they just decided to skip my room, I guess.

Really great place! It seems they only employ about one person at the desk at a time, so don't expect very quick service, maybe. But the employees and the rooms were excellent. The only downside was the noise coming off the street is really loud all day and night.

New, chic decor, friendly staff, and convenient to BART station, which is the main reason we stayed here. But limited dining options in immediate area, and quite a bit of street noise. If you are sound senstitive like I am, bring good earplugs.

**Review for Nov 17-19 2023**The location, ambiance, and amenities at this Best Western are satisfactory. However, this review focuses solely on the staff.Potential guests should be aware that the staff's approach is inconsistent and appears to change based on the individual, the day, or perhaps their mood.During our stay for the Berkeley Half Marathon weekend (Nov 17 to Nov 19), our experience with the staff was disappointing. The person at the front desk during our check-in around 5 pm seemed disinterested in answering questions, lacking the expected customer service demeanor. We dismissed it, attributing it to a bad day.The following day, a different staff member, a woman, proved even less accommodating. Her attitude towards customer inquiries and her apparent disdain for her role were evident. We requested a late check-out, but there was a discrepancy between the information given by the staff on Friday and Saturday, highlighting the inconsistency in policies. When we mentioned the man had told us 11 am, the woman became furious. Even though we were not confrontational, her response was unprofessional and unwarranted. To make matters worse, when my parents came to pick us up after the race and informed her they were waiting for their daughter and niece, she displayed a dismissive and rude attitude towards them as well.To the management, I urge you to improve the overall service. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry, I understand the challenges, but all customers deserve respectful treatment, especially paying ones. For those considering staying here, proceed with caution.

5 stars all around! The staff is amazing! The location is amazing! Walking distance to a BART station, to the Berkeley campus, to the water. This place restored my faith in hotels! The room was clean and modern and everything worked! It's a new hotel so of course it's nice but they seem to be taking really really good care of it. I also thought it was really cool how they have bicycles you can borrow for the day and the views from the rooftop at sunset were beautiful! Everything about the hotel just felt luxurious from the lobby to the hallways to the rooms, I forgot I was staying at a Best Western hahaThe staff was out of this world! Customer service skills 100! I can't say enough good things about the staff. The doors weren't setup to be used with the room cards yet so they had to let us in every time and one night we didn't get back until 3am and the girl was super nice and said "no it's okay I hope you guys had fun!" cause we kept apologizing for her having to let us in. They were also so quick to get our car from valet, I forget the managers name but he hustled! He made sure our stay was fantastic! The breakfast was very nice too! Not those basic little muffins and some assorted fruit but very fancy pastries, I had a large chocolate croissant every morning. It was so good. I highly recommend this hotel! It's been a while since I've stayed there but I hope it's stayed the same.

This hotel in Berkely is great. I stayed here 3 nights and it was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom amenities smell delicious. The staff are extremely nice and when I was waiting for my Uber the morning of checkout (very early, around 5am) the front desk employee made me coffee and gave me a few granola bars for free that I could take on the plane. Kind gestures like that make a hotel unique from the others. Thank you!

I loved staying in this hotel for 2 nights and will definitely stay here again. The location was great. Just a few blocks, walking distance from BART with restaurants and a Target in walking distance. The hotel appears to be brand new and with a modern, attractive look. The manager was very friendly and helpful, offering me a beverage when I arrived and explaining how I could get breakfast (for a modest price) delivered to my room in the morning or to the nice lobby area where there is plenty of delicious coffee and tea. I had requested a quiet room and was given a great one at the back of the hotel, so I slept very soundly both nights. Plus, the price was quite reasonable. Aiden By Best Western@Berkeley hit all the right notes for me.
