IMHOWe came here for a private event, a family baby shower. This venue is huge! Before entering the building, a nice security guard greeted us and gave us options to get to the second floor, either elevator or stairs. We chose the wooden stairs! The whole venue has a cool, rustic feel with its wood and brick facades. My first impression was that they must've just freshly varnished the entire floor because that's what it smelled and looked like. Thankfully the smell didn't overtake the venue. The floor looked great! LOLThe family did all the decorating and provided the food. There is a small kitchen to do prep work. In the back there is a long bar area and a small stage. Table and chair storage holders are big and cumbersome and can't be camouflaged during your event. Bathrooms were slightly dated but brightly lit. They should update their bathroom stall latches to something other than hook and eye closures. Overall, a nice spacious area for your event.

Nice place to walk the dogs. They have various fundraisers here, like crab feeds. Commandant's home is next door.

This was our 1st time. We went to a crab feed last night. Beautiful place. Getting there was a bit tricky. But once we arrived, we had a wonderful time.

Came here for a private event. The venue has a nice historic charm. Wide open spaces with two large rooms to mingle. The sandstone walls and good flooring gives the place a nice ambiance. The con are the restrooms. The fixtures need a bit of updating (sinks, toilets, etc.). They don't look "historic", they just look old. If they updated the restroom, I think the venue would be even more appealing for those considering having high end events there (weddings, etc.)

Great for large events. Facility is getting better and better as the years go by. I've been going to it for 20 years.

A historical building that was there since 1859. It looks haunted looking at those huge windows... #alfredhitchcock

Some parking. Large banquet hall with 20 foot ceiling. Two flights of stairs which were sturdy but somehow don't seem adequate. Large kitchen but but the equipment is dated.

They have an open house Tuesdays after 5pm. The venue is on the second floor and there is an elevator for those who don't want to take the stairs.

My Son had his wedding there and it was magnificent. Instead of in some stuffy country club we created our own magic and everyone from all over the US said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I'm talking about people who have been to high-end weddings, this had history and atmosphere and close to Benicia and inexpensive.
