Very poor customer service!!! Representative was very confusing when trying to get my pup seen for having an allergic reaction. We were told it wasn’t enough of an emergency and our dog had to be bleeding or near death in order to be seen by the Dr. on a Saturday!

Thank you to Dr. Beam and the Team at Animal Clinic of Benicia for making Roulette's visit wonderful! I was very anxious to try a new vet because we've had a lot of negative experiences. The Dr. and techs were very patient with my many questions which helped put me at ease. They were all very sweet with my dog too and the doctor got on the ground for the exam which my dog loved. The people at the front desk were also very warm and welcoming. Overall, it was a positive experience for both my dog and I and we will definitely be using this clinic for all her future veterinary needs.

Heartbroken. We brought our elderly dog in on Wednesday 09-18-24 because he was lethargic, had been vomiting, his eyes were slightly yellow, and hadn’t been eating. His back legs weren’t functioning properly. They gave him some iv fluids, charged us an insane amount, and sent us on our way, with a CLEAN bill of health and acclimations of how healthy he was, despite not eating, not being able to walk, and yellowing eyes. We trusted them, as we are not vets.
By the next evening (Thursday 09-19-2024) our precious boy's eyes were solidly yellow. His gums were yellow, his belly was yellow.
We took him to an emergency clinic as it was evening. He was in full liver failure and by the time they caught it, it was too late. We had to say goodbye to our sweet boy the day after he received a “clean” bill of health from Animal Clinic of Benicia.
The emergency clinic charged us less for emergency life saving services and ultimately euthanasia and cremation than Animal clinic of Benicia did for his “clean” bill of health.
I’m disgusted, infuriated, and heartbroken.
DON’T take your pets here if you actually want a diagnosis. Only take them if you want to pay an asinine amount and have smoke blown up your ass.
We are devastated.

I made an appointment and confirmed it more than a week before. The day of, I arrive early to find that they apparently had closed. Found out later that THEY rescheduled me without notifying me then tried to say that I had changed the appointment. They stole my deposit, wasted my entire Saturday after I drove over 60 miles to be on time, and have the audacity to blame me for THEIR mistake. I will never go back and recommend that everyone stay away. If they are so eager to lie and deny treatment of a 2 month old kitten then I am sure they endanger pets. They will endanger your pets and then lie about it. So why risk it to begin with? Petco has been better with their veterinarian services.

We’ve been coming here for the past 2+ years for our 2 dogs and I’m happy to say that each visit has been a good one with all the staff we encounter. They have always taken great, thorough care with my dogs for all of their surgeries, sudden health issues, and regular exams. I feel at ease seeing that my girls are always treated with gentle love and care, especially knowing how anxious one of my dogs tends to be in many social situations. Dr. Beam is always so sweet with them!
Thank you to everyone here for always taking care of us and answering all of our questions when we had them! :)

No communication. Poor customer care. We had a 12:30 appointment for our dog. Arrived on time. Only people there. Another lady came in with her dog and was taken care of. They left. Lots of employees in the back having a great time. Never taken to the exam room. No updates. The receptionist went in the back with the four other employees and closed the door. Sounded like a party. We left after 25 minutes. We’ve probably been customers longer than all five of those employees have worked there combined. Things haven’t been the same since it changed hands.

I'm a longtime client of the Animal Clinic of Benicia. The vets, techs and admins here seem to care deeply about your pet's health and less about squeezing the most money out of each visit. They are not the cheapest clinic in the Bay Area, but they will work with you to find alternative or cheaper options if necessary. Big fan of their staff, especially Krystle! Cherished organization in the Benicia community.
