In todays economy, price drives a lot of people's decisions. Call me old school but to be able to walk in, be escorted to the section, and be assisted by someone who knows exactly where to find what you've come for... This is much better than a long and frustrating search in the big box store, only to find the stock in disarray, the helpers avoiding eye contact, and being at the mercy of forklift police to clear out of a section.
Kudos to Ace in Benicia. Please keep the customer service ethos you demonstrate. Happy to pay a few pennies more for retail+service vrs the big box adventure nightmare.

This is a small store, but it has some of everything one could need as far as a hardware/home improvement store goes. I appreciate that this location is close to home and has less bustle than the other big chain hardware stores in town. We were cheerfully and professionally greeted at the door. The associate who made the key copies that I needed wasn't super smiley and friendly but professional and helpful, and that's all good. The checkout associate was friendly and professional.

I don't know what it is about Ace Hardware, but some of their locations have the most friendly and helpful staff that I've ever encountered (at any store!), and its consistent - every single time I go in.I was in the Benicia location just recently for my first time and it reminded me of the Walnut Creek store, which is absolutely my favorite for customer service. Benicia has the same level of enthusiasm that I was hoping for. Their employees totally made me feel welcomed (with a greeting when I entered); valued (the gentleman that helped me - wish I could remember his name - Robert? - didn't laugh at my dumb questions or comments when he helped me find a door sweep for my front door - and explained to me reasons I might not want certain types of this product as opposed to ones that would be better for an outside-accessing door); and also appreciated (I had a sincere thank you from the cashiers when I left (receipt says Krish but there were two of them together).I was in and out of the store in less than 5 minutes with the item I needed. I almost brought a pie home too, but I wasn't going straight home and I didn't want it to defrost in the car (the frozen pies are out of this world, and they're actually a couple of dollars less at this location than they are in Walnut Creek). If you've never tried one of their bake-at-home frozen fruit pies, take my advice and pick your fave fruit, bake it according to the instructions you can find online, (egg wash and all), and be ready to sing these same praises. Theyre really, really good! Which I guess goes right along the Ace theme of setting the customer service standard very high, and then exceeding it every visit.

Very comprehensive stock of quality products. Staff always personable and helpful. Big shout out to Matt and Sierra both of whom took considerable time to help me locate a part. Both researching on their computer and cross referencing using a vague instruction booklet I produced to ensure that I ended up with the right part - which, through their outstanding customer service and diligence, I did! Thank You Both, and Thank You Ace Pedrotti! Great Job!

Kudos to Josh at Pedrotti’s Ace Hardware in Benicia, Ca. Honestly this hardware store always has great staff and service but Josh took it up a notch. Simple task of fixing a license plate of all things, not really hardware related, just needed a screw. Turns out not all screws are the same!, and it was no small task. Great job Josh! ??And thank you! KT and CC

I have been to this store many times and have always been able to find help. This evening I thought I should finally leave a review because of the customer service. I came in, in a bit of a panic because I was failing as a first time plumber. I had attempted to replace a fill valve but the flex connector broke and I thought I might not ever flush the toilet again! I turned off the water and grabbed what parts I could and brought them down. Sierra was already helping someone when I was in the plumbing aisle and I knew they were only open for a little bit longer but she didn't hesitate at all when I asked for help after she was done with the other customer. She knew what she was talking about and helped show me what I would need to complete the project. Very knowledgeable, very helpful, and I left feeling satisfied and ready to get this toilet flushing again. Everything is back to working order and I just wanted to thank Sierra for her patience with me and answering all my questions

I was in the store today to get some moulding and was very impressed by the service. Chris went out of his way to make sure I was 100% pleased with the mouldings I chose. It took some time but he was gracious and never complained. He made sure it was all done right. He also did perfect cutting with the saw and made a good recommendation, gathered other items for me.As always, this store continues to have outstanding service and workers are courteous. Fantastic inventory too.

I am a septuagenarian. I was recently in Benicia's Ace hardware and I needed to buy a package of small wrenches that costed $39. Unfortunately, the package was under lock and key because, "the nearby middle school children have been coming in stealing magnets". Being small in stature I must appear at least 60 years younger than I am. Yay! The employees refused to give me the package of wrenches. Instead they offered to take them directly to the cashier. The first employee took the package to a cashier without telling me which cashier so, of course, I went to the wrong cashier who had no clue who had the wrenches. Frustrated I then asked one of the managers/supervisors to help me. She unlocked a second set of wrenches. Again, rather than give me the package she accompanied me to a cashier. While I refused to play the race card, I was certainly demeaned but I still purchased the wrenches out of necessity.

I shop often at this Ace and the criticism is not with the store, it is with an Ace product. The hose nozzle is just the worst, I have purchased numerous of them and finally gave up and purchase a different brand. The nozzels are poorly made and begin to leak quite quickly...waste of money. All of the staff are very nice and helpful.

This Ace store is tiny but mighty. They can improve on their garden selection but given they seem to have everything else I need, no complaints. Customer service is always great. In fact, I recently called in about a commercial sink faucet and a gentlemen kindly told me it's something they don't carry but gave great advice on how to find it at another store. I haven't had to make a Home Depot trip in what seems to be years. Love having a local hardware store that cares.
