Great experience. Very thorough diagnostic. Was able to find the problem quickly. I was expecting it to be a few days but instead he wanted to see me get back on road. I was in and out of shop in less then 3 hours. I towed the car in and drove it out. Alex is very transparent letting me know what he was doing at each step of the diagnostic and repair. He's honest and charged a very fair price.. it's hard to find a mechanic that not only cares about customer satisfaction and doesn't over charge or sell things that aren't needed. I'll be getting all my Car work done with Alex both major work and maintenance work. Thank you Alex

I can't recommend him highly enough. I'm a solo woman traveler and I thought I was having transmission issues. He came to where I was parked and checked the diagnostics, ended up being a different issue. One of my big fears is folks taking advantage of my lack of car knowledge but he talked me through everything he did so I could understand why. His pricing was very straight forward and fair. Very grateful to have had a good experience.

I have my own small business in the area, and it is extremely important that I have my truck in the right hands. Few days ago I contacted Alex hoping to have my brakes/rotors replaced......and he was able to fit me in the next day! He was very thorough, polite, and it was easy to tell that he is very experienced and knowledgeable. In under 2 hours Alex had finished the work, put air in the tires, made sure all fluids were up to par, and even took the truck for a test drive to be certain all was well. Thanks Alex!

I phoned them to inquire about their services and without even starting asking yet, in an instant was told "F*** you!" by the one who answered my call. And then he called me to apologize. He said they are too busy and that he thought I was a telemarketer. I was also told that it's even worst because I am inquiring on behalf of someone (I'm an assistant) and that it's better not deal with me because of his bad experience before. Maybe you are correct when you said you don't deserve to get hired by us. I am giving you 1 star for your aweful customer service and that is what you deserve! You are very rude!

Alex was very helpful, patient, and generous with his time. He did a safety check on my pretty old Kia Rio (2003) that is still trucking along, and showed me all the potential fixes and classified which were urgent and which could wait. I'm on a tight budget (as a full-time student) and Alex worked with me on my budget, which was super helpful and considerate. I was overdue for a timing belt change and we also decided to replace other rubber parts and the valve gasket cover, which had gotten corroded, but decided that certain things like changing the rotors and water pump could wait, to help stick to my budget. I was also due for an oil and oil filter change and he added those in without adding a whole lot for labor. I returned a week later to get the work done and it was carried out in the timeframe suggested and was done very thoroughly. He also identified some past errors due to negligence (?)/incompetence of past mechanics and fixed them, such as aluminum filings left behind around the oil filter that had been causing an oil leak. He also test drove the car and identified some issues with my brakes, and looked into that for free, and made sure I was completely informed about my next options. I'm a first time car owner (I never needed one before! NYC!) so it was nerve-wracking to try to get my old car fixed. I felt Alex was very competent as well as transparent with his pricing and frank about what was needed. I had been given such crazy high quotes for timing belt changes around town ($1075 anyone? Thanks Lloyd's.) and Alex didn't try to give me the run around, so it was a relief to work with him. This location is out of town but it's worth it. I'll definitely be going back when my Kia needs it!

Best mechanic I've ever had. I was recommended to his shop by a good friend of mine. He did amazing work on my car and its clear that Alex is indeed a master at what he does. He is a very kind and respectable person, extremely knowledgeable about car mechanics and certainly in the business for the betterment of his community. I moved about 3 hours south, yet still make the drive to have my car worked on by Alex. I like that I can feel confident and secure that he will always be honest and real with me. No shady business going on here, just clear authentic communication and amazing service. If you are considering going to Alex, know that you'll be respectfully given the best service in Santa Cruz. I've taken my car to him multiple times now and have become a loyal customer.
