I like it for one reason. They offer air. Gas stations are supposed to do so. You are entitled to it, I believe under state law if/when you fill up. Yet not every establishment respects that. Many are begrudging. So you should -- I would argue one is obliged -- to do what is right and purchase something such as fuel. Then you have satisfied the social contract of doing right, and you should check the tire pressure.”
“I dropped by the Smog Center yesterday without an appointment to get a smog inspection for my Toyota Camry. I was greeted with a smile and helped right away. The staff was friendly, courteous and professional. The waiting room was clean, comfortable and had a television. I was in and out with my certificate in about 15 minutes. The price was fair, and this has to be the cleanest overall smog establishment I have ever seen. I can highly recommend. I will definitely be back when it is time for my next smog inspection.”
“Another reviewer called him uncle Tamm, and I'll second that.
I've called for simple advice, I've called needing small odd jobs, I've called needing tires mounted, and I've called him for bigger jobs. Tamm always delivers - he actually cares about his customers and their cars. Him and staff know their way around a wide variety of cars, too. Pretty impressive.
Prices are always fair and he's always super nice. I like to think I know at least a little bit about cars and I've never seen an upsell from the guy. Just a good and honest mechanic. My friends and I all have brought our cars by at some point, and we've never left disappointed.”

1001 Cutting Blvd, Richmond“They have propane exchange here. Full service gasoline means THEY pump the gas for you, NOT that they have all types of gas. What a small world, I know these people from elsewhere, as shop keepers, sellers of things at another gas and food locale. Happy to see them expanding or running other business. I don't know what others think, but they are good people, I've never had an issue with quality, honesty, service past what is expected or posted, and if given the choice of them or someone I don't know I'd go here. That said, prices are decent, place is clean, things work, I've always been able to get a coffee at any time of day or night a I thank them for this very very much. The locals are at times past nuts, looney tunes dope smoking dancing and singing in it doesn't matter the temp or anything, they on one and it's good, but if you there when they realize they have no more and they dont have the funds either..... smile nod or say incoherent "I dun know bout that now ya hear now" like it was a mantra, get to the car and DRIVE!”

4801 Central Ave, Richmond“The Costco Gas Station in Richmond has the cheapest fuel in this part of the East Bay. Costco gas is usually 20-50 cents cheaper than other gas stations in the area, and can be up to a dollar cheaper than the gas stations next to the 80/580 ramps.
If you live nearby, the gas savings can be worth the cost of the Costco membership itself, especially if combined with the 4% cash back from the Costco credit card.
There shouldn't be much of a wait if you jump in the shortest line instead of waiting for a pump on the "correct" side of your car. Costco gas stations have extra long hoses that can wrap around your car and safely fuel your car from the wrong side of the pump.
High quality gas is sold here at great prices.”

1855 Taraval St, San Francisco“My wife notice the flat tire icon on the dash. I came home late from work and found a nail in the rear driver side tire. It was 4:45 and I went to Sam's to see if they can fix it before the Memorial Day weekend. They had time and I was in and out of there within 15 mins. They also checked every tire for proper inflation. Great job. Good value for the money.”

3701 Cutting Blvd, Richmond“I popped a tire on 580 and limped into this station. First the staff turned on the air, and then when it became apparent that I had to put on the spare, they produced a jack -- and then insisted on coming out to help, brought a mat so we had a dry place to kneel (it was raining) and then made sure the spare was on tightly and helped me get it up to the right pressure. Their kindness made what could have been a scary and stressful situation perfectly manageable. I really appreciate it, and am so grateful. I'll be making a point of stopping in for gas and snacks. These guys are great.”
“This was right outside of Yosemite, why San Anselmo, don't know why. Thank goodness this station was right outside the Yosemite Lodge on the way home. Kept clean, nice bathrooms and a snack place. Gas was a bit expensive, but they have you there. Nice to get some snacks and drinks after a long day.”

2701 El Portal Dr, San Pablo“The guys are cool. But the place is dirty. Of course there are a lot of messy people around there...so it would be a bit of work to constantly keep it clean. they need a janitor!!! But all in all they are pretty awesome cats. Daytime lady is very pretty and seems to be real cool.”
“Only Bio Diesel in San Francisco -- been there a long time...pumps are available 24/7 but not really any live support. Business seems solid as they have a tour company with Biodiesel busses. I am very happy to use the service.”
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Jason and Jay for being able to help with the P0171 code on my Saturn Astra, which was able to pass smog after my visit. Both Js were excellent to work with! I was almost shocked at how quickly they were able to get this scheduled, diagnosed, parts in, and work completed… and at a fair price, too!I HIGHLY recommend Fara’s Auto ?”

700 Tamalpais Dr, Corte Madera“Our daughter got a flat tire near this service station and the nicest man came over from the station and offered to help her change the tire. I believe his name is Osama. He took the tire off and discovered a nail and gave us a very reasonable quote for a new tire. The tire was changed in an hour! Excellent service. So we decided to get my Camry's 5K maintenance serviced here and are very happy with the job and the price. Yay, we've found our new service station!”

695 Harbour Way, Richmond“Not the best neighborhoods to go and buy gas. However, the prices were much lower than others in the area. The neighborhood so bad they don't even let you in the store. They have to go through a bulletproof window to the cashier. That tells you something about the neighborhood.”
“I had a weird but very positive experience here recently. I've been coming to this gas station for gas for years. But a few months ago I was there on my motorcycle. It had an intermittent issue starting and had flat tires. The starting issue has a workaround. My plan was to get gas and keep using the starting workaround until fixed. The gas station air pump was broken when I got there (it happens), and the workaround to starting the bike requires a screwdriver, which I had forgotten to bring. I couldn't start the bike after filling up with gas and thought I'd have to push it home with flats. But a mechanic saw me trying to bump start it (I was alone and it's a heavy Harley, so for those that don't know, that's difficult on flat ground) and offered help. He inflated my tires with the shop pump, then lent me his screwdriver to get it started. I'm really glad this happened, because about 15 minutes into the ride I got an emergency phone call and had to go to San Francisco as fast as I could. I got there because of that mechanic. Without his help, I wouldn't have been able to say goodbye to my dog, who suddenly had to be put to sleep.I offered some cash for a thanks but he declined (it did only take just a few minutes). Mr. Mechanic, whoever you are, you did a very good deed that day. It made a difference. I wish I got your name. God bless.”

1175 Fell St, San Francisco“One of the cheapest gas stations in the city. Unfortunately, people have an inability to follow the rules of which way to go into the pump, often blocking off everyone else”
“First time writing a review for a gas station as I usually write reviews for food instead, but it's such a great gas station that I just have to. This gas station is newly taken over by Valero after switching hands a few times in the last year or so. Valero has completely revamped the place and made everything nice and new. The staff there are always pretty nice. In the first few weeks it was open, I went and saw a window squeegee that was a little broken and the guy just tossed it immediately and got a new one. It's also one of the cheapest prices you can get in the neighborhood. The only thing is that it can get a bit tight when you're trying to exit a particular direction but that's not the fault of the gas station due to space constraints. If I can't get to Costco in time, this is my go to gas station for sure.”

“I recently visited Chevron I must say, they have everything I need and more! Their selection of candy is impressive and caters to all my sweet tooth cravings. Additionally, I appreciate their well-stocked refrigerator, which is perfect for grabbing a quick snack or drink.
Their Car Wash service is second to none in the area. My car has never looked better! Lastly, I can’t say enough about the friendly employees. They truly make the experience enjoyable with their warm and helpful attitudes.”
“I don't know why, but I think gas station recommendations are just as/if not more important than restaurant recommendations. No, they're not sexy. And they're not very photo-worthy. But let's face it - we spend so much time in our cars, and everyone needs a gas station at least once every week or two. Since cars are the bane our of our Bay Area existence, doesn't it make sense to know the right place to refuel? That's why I want to give props to this Tiburon Unocal station. Here's what I like: - It's only a mile from where I live. - there's never a long line - It's clean - the gas is never overpriced - they have pumps if your tires need air - they have a compact convenience store for beverages, snacks, smokes, and other basic needs. - they also have bins where you can donate clothes to non-profits. So if you're in the Mill Valley/Tiburon area and you need to refuel (and maybe donate some old clothes/shoes), this Unocal station is your best bet. And then cross the street to Peets Coffee and reward yourself with a cappuccino.”
