Grocery store with pretty much everything you could want. Good produce, all the staples, a deli, a bakery, a butcher with an interesting selection of different meats and seafood. If I'm looking for a good steak, I'd probably go elsewhere, but I can always go there to find nice lamb or veal.

Best store there is!! Bill and Dave are the managers who run this great store. If something is out of stock, they will do all they can to get it back. The store is clean, the people are nice. They care about patrons and if too many in line, they are right on it with more checkers who are great. Any negative review below are not true and was meant for Safeway. We have shopped here for 40 years, and never seen a problem with any checker. As for the deli, the new dark-haired newer gal I wish would go somewhere else as she is not happy at all. You can tell. As for the checkers, managers, products, AWESOME. I've been to Safeway, NobHill, and Lunardis has the best produce, meat, deli, supplies and checkers.

The meat counter is amazing! Everything else they carry, you can find at Safeway. But the meat counter - oh my! If you are looking for a great variety of meat that is absolutely beautiful- definitely try Lunardi's! The customer service is also exceptional and they bag for you - which is always nice.

This grocery store is filled with The Simpsons like characters. From the loud mouthed deli manager to the deli lady who rolls her eyes at you, I'd have to say it's not my preferred grocery store.

I just moved to Belmont because I love the small town vibes and I've been to several establishments in town and they;re all consistently friendly. I shop several markets all over the Bay area but have never tried a Lunardi's and since it's literally a few steps away from my home, I thought I check it out. The first 2 visits were just ok-- selection is typical of a local market, prices are ok, customer service was just ok (blah) but I did hear a customer of a color behind me in line tell his friend "I guess what they say is true about this place" I was a bit surprised to hear that about a small market, never thought such place would have a reputation. 3rd visit tonight on my way home and forgot a few things. I go up to the register but this older blonde short lady literally stared me up and down while she is placing groceries on the conveyor belt. I didn't realized she worked there and was purchasing items as she's also working I think. As the cashier is ringing her up, she continues to stare at me and does not say a thing or ask another cashier to help me while she gets her families groceries rung up. Soon as I go to the register, she goes up to another employee and chats away as they both stare at me. The cashier helping me doesn't apologize for the wait but also stares at me as I'm handing him my TWO items. As I'm leaving I hear the blondish cashier (Madeline the night manager) ask the next person she can help him at her register. I ask one of the other employees what her name is and as he also looks at me crazy but does provide me her name. After reading all these previous reviews, Madeline is blatantly racist and disrespectful. If you're a person of color, you WILL BE JUDGED. Don't expect to get that nice homey feel unless you are caucasion or an elderly shopper. I hate that people have to experience this kind of service with people like Madeline and how is it that Lundardi's despite all the complaints about her, still has her working AS A MANAGER. From what I observed my 3 visits there, you'll feel like you're back in time to the 1950s (ambiance and all) and will get treated as such. The older employees are still in that same 1950s mentality and even look the part. If you're a person of color, do NOT shop there unless you don't mind being disrespected and really desperate to pick something up but don't say I didn't warn ya.

I like Lunardis, market in Belmont. i love the service, when lines at the check out get long they always call for more service, The food is a great selection but over the years it has had less and less of a focus on Italian foods. However their bread selection is rather poor, actually rather horrible the bread never seems to be fresh, and the Lunardis brand is never soft, We live within walking distance but we always have to go a long car ride to get bread at the market in SanCarlos. I wish Lunardis would get a supplier of fresher and better tasteing bread, after all this is the Bay Area, and bread should always be top notch! Also, the sandwiches and soups are much better elsewhere. The food at their deli always looks bad and disgusting. too bad for lunardis, The sushi is very good though, Shopping is a nice pleasant expeirence, here, I think all the people I have intereacted with are fine and helpful. I completely disagree with Joe I comment that the short blonde cashier was dismissive of people of color. NOT true, at all. And there is no penalty for not being young .. . Actually I think he is kind of cute.

First off, in my experience this place has the best and freshest produce you can buy anywhere on the peninsula. Pretty much every fruit or veggie I buy here feels like premium quality. That alone makes it my go-to grocery store.Aside from that, the selection in the store is quite good, even given its relatively small footprint. Yes the prices are a little higher than some stores, but you pay for the quality. I love the service at the meat counter and deli. I haven’t tried many of their baked goods because of my diet but they all look incredible. I tried some cannoli just because I was so tempted and it was delicious. They also sell bread from Acme Co here. It’s also a classy place, I’m pretty sure that the men are required to wear a shirt and tie. This is my favorite grocery store I’ve been to in the whole area!

Great place to get fresh produce. Very friendly staff. It's located closer to the residential area so, easy to go.

It's my first time here and I was looking around to check out the new place. I went to the deli and ordered the panini sandwich. The deli clerk needs to follow food safety rules. I order a panini sandwich and it was fine. But while I was waiting, I watched him sweeping the floor and using the dustpan with his blue gloves. When he finished, he went straight to my panini without changing his blue gloves. I ask him: can you please change your gloves? Yes, he did and the other deli employee helped him give me my panini. Never use the same gloves to touch trash, dirt and touch the food. This is the huge NO NO

I wanted a deli sandwich to take on a trip to Yosemite for a hike, but my usual delis were all closed. I heard from a friend Lunardi's has a great deli so I gave them a call and they said they're open til the store closes. The deli attendant was super knowledgeable and friendly, and the quality of the ingredients was top notch! This sandwich wasn't huge like from some delis, I'd say it's definitely a normal portion for one person one meal. But I'd gladly come back for another!

Bought ½ pint of Mac n cheese and pint of stew . Way too expensive to be that disgusting. I mean the mediocre Mac n cheese was at least edible and the stew I made it half way before deciding to throw it out. They should save anyone / everyone else the trouble and throw it out themselves!!!

Store is super run down and out of date. Insanely small aisles, and sometimes the tiles will be leaking with water. Slow baggers too

2 days ago my husband bought some ground meat and chicken liver from the store's fresh meat department. Last night I was preparing dinner and opened the chicken liver package. A pungent smell hit my nose. When I checked the other 2 packages - the ground beef had a funny smell, too.As this is not the first time we had nasty surprises with produce from them, I took the meat to the store today, to show them. The only reaction I got was: "if you don't have the receipt I can't help you". I tried to explain that this it's not only about the money (although the price was on each package, with the store label on it). This is our go-to store now as we moved recently in the neighborhood from Redwood Shores. This was a very concerning experience.
