“This was a really quiet store, At first impression it did look a little older, so I didn't expect much. But i was really impressed by the amount of stuff they had Say had coffee they had a mini bakery for just hot foods. They had a wide variety of alcohol and energy drinks. And the staff was super sweet and nice especially the cashier. Overall I would highly recommend going.”

“Winco is an amazing experince for shoppers. It is like going to Costco, but for groceries, without the membership fee. The quality, variety, and savings are great. One can feel the customer appreciation here. If there was a 6 ⭐ rating, I'd give'm 6 because they never close 24/7. They have pizza by the slice, or by the box like Costco on your way out also, at good prices (not bad pizza). Free parking, huge parking lot.”

“The meat dept is small same with parking out side. But its a good store for the size. Holiday is going to have a new store which is on a bigger lot across the street which is under construction at this time”

“Gas prices are average to high. Pump setup is great. The store itself gets a markdown one star because their selection of cooler beverages is often lacking particular brands or flavors that should be there but rarely are...in spite of this, they have a great beer cave with more exotic flavors or varieties you may not find at the grocery store.Four stars is for the awesome staff, clean store, and they serve some great breakfast burritos in the morning, or a nice snack like pizza sticks or chicken strips around lunch. They even take the effort to provide a selection of dipping sauces. The fountain selection is regular but another highlight is they always have frazil, very important for a hot day, delicious slushe! Doughnuts delivered daily. They close early Sunday.”

“Although Sprouts is a little pricey they offer a broad variety of products. The staff are happy, friendly, and very helpful. Sprouts reminds me of grocery shopping in Berkeley, CA but it's in Redding. Definitely check them out!”

“I've been going to this store for 17 years now. They have gone thru many employees and much needed recent updates and remodeling. The employees are pretty nice and they know their regulars and they keep the store pretty clean. It's convenient if you live in the area because it's the only one around for a mile or 2.”

“This is a hidden gem for bourbon hunters. It was recently taken over by new owners and they have done a great job at cleaning up the store and bringing in some higher end, more sought after bottles. It has been my go to spot, the new manager Yesh is a very friendly guy who has been very helpful in my search for rare bourbons. The selection is impressive, ranging from well-known brands to obscure, small-batch distilleries. Prices are very good, especially considering the quality and rarity of some bottles. The store layout is well-organized, making it easy to browse and discover new favorites.”

“This store is nice and clean. All areas- for use in the store, bathrooms, store isles are clean as well. Parking lot has debris however the parking lot is shared with many other businesses. That’s understandable. A few times I’ve had questions in the produce department and couldn’t find anyone to help in. That department. I had to go look for someone. All the employees have been great super nice and helpful.”

“My go to store on Pine St. I've been a Safeway shopper since my parents shopped at our hometown Safeway. This location has a transient population that has been moved back from the entry doors. I appreciate that, and carts are always available. I like the savings I get with the club card, and I get all my gas at this Safeway fuel station. I get help bagging my groceries and often I am helped out to my car and groceries are loaded for me. What a blessing for a 76 year old woman who moved here to be helped by her family, but whose family discontinued all help. The Safeway clerk's take the role of family for me. I appreciate that more than they know. I can find better prices elsewhere, but my loyalty is with Safeway. I have used grocery pickup and highly recommend that service. Good communication and pleasant clerks.”

“I came to try this spot without high expectations for authenticity... I left full of Soondubu (Tofu soup) in my belly and a huge smile on my face! For background info- I hail from LA where Korean food abounds. I come to Redding ever so often to visit the bf, and there are several places in Redding I always hit up for any kind of asian food I am craving... this spot is definitely gonna be my Korean go to for soup! I ordered the above (just tofu, veggies, and egg), it came served bubbling in a hotpot bowl, a little side bowl of rice, a side of bean sprouts, a side of kimchi, and a glass of water. If you you've never had this soup before I highly recommend you try it- its what most people would say is comfort Korean food :). I'm not Korean myself so I can't say how authentic it is, but the soup was delicious and it absolutely hit the spot- on par with some of the best places I've tried in LA. Next time I'll try their bibimbap! Service - soup came out in about 10-15 mins. The man was nice, the woman looked very tired and I felt a bit bad for her. I hope she has a better day. My only complaint- they put the egg in the soup for me before the soup came out (which isn't really a big deal). I personally love cracking the egg myself and watching it cook in the soup - next time I'll ask for it on the side and do it myself :P”

“Definitely could use some work on the inside "mini-mart". The counter top looked like a slab of wood just resting there. Don't slide your hand over it! Lol I did that to pick up my change and got a splinter ??I laugh because it's not the first place you'd think to get one. And it's super cramped inside. Very small isles & over stuffed racks. You can hardly walk inside. Guess that's why there are no pictures of the inside posted. HahahAnyway, aside from the wonky inside mart, the gas is cheap. I have never seen this station get beat in price!! Definitely worth the detour, But I suggest Pay at Pump ??”

“These people are so nice every day I go in. Could be that I spend money every time I show up, but I'm going to say it's because they are nice. The prices are always less than most other stores. If you want to save some money and deal with friendly people..... do yourself a favor and try the Dollar General in Palo Cedro. You won't be disappointed.”

“I do INSTACART every day and I love to work at this grocery store. They have a very nice and clean environment, good prices and helpful employees, but I would like to make a compliment, in special, to the employee JEFF, from the dairy department. That is the most organized and complete department I've ever seen. He is always restocking, organizing, cleaning and rarely, the items are out of stock. Congrats, Jeff. You do such a very good job. Thank you”

“I’ve been going to this store frequently for about 6 years now and it has never disappointed me, I even left the country for a few years and came back and all that had changed was upgrades to the place. Always great service and options.”

“So given that the two most recent reviews were a year apart, i cant sit and believe that no one else in the yelp community has since visited this place.Ok so without further ado always remember that everyone's experience when visiting any established business will and more than likely differ from everyone elses visit. Just because you had a bad day doesnt mean that the next one behind you did.So todays date is Jan 1, 2023. I had visited Carillos Mexican Store because i couldnt find any normal chorizo that wasnt soy from any of the markets here in redding. So when i came across this establishment of course i was giddy with excitement as being from southern california there is no shortage of mexican markets out there. So naturally i was a feeling the blues when i transferred and move up here for work along every single of my co-workers recommendation on where the best authentic al-pastor is, well then youre kinda talking to yourself into thinking soyrizo cant be that bad can it?but thats not the point im trying to make here. What i am trying to point out is that i totally forgot the date of visit so this is pretty much a flashback dream review from memory and yeah you know what this store may not be as pretty or have the traditional décor that you normally see in Santa Ana or Los Angeles, but its intimate enough for one to get know the owner or staff members which is always a plus for youre looking something in particular and the way to get it is through a mexican markets connections, dont believe give it a try see how it works out.Carillos Mexican Store may not be the vision of what everyone assumes or thinks what a mexican store should be but thats ok because in there you find the big can of menudo or every single ingredient youll need to make it yourself, they may not have the widest collection of household cleaning supplies but at least one bottle of fabuloso will suffice and just because safeway say that their coca-cola is authentic doesnt mean it was made with pure cane sugar like the ones they have down past the mexican border and just like the ones youll see displayed and ready for purchase at Carillos Mexican Store. Now being that im from southern california i will admit that when it comes to buying meats and chicken to cook on or off the grill. i am spoiled i can either go around the corner for some bomb tacos or i can drive to wherever and purchase the best al-pastor, in my opinion of course, and just be happy for the rest of my life. So when i saw the carniceria section i will admit, it wasnt what i was expecting, but the choices werent bad either and even though the dispaly for the meats counter looked like something out the texas massacre's gas station store display case, i didnt hesitate to pick up the seasoned chick and 2 pounds of chorizo, and with all the other little snacks and hair care product (moco de gorilla) i walked out of there not only with 4 bags worth of groceries but with a sense of comfort now knowing that if i ever need my fix of pulparindo's or japanese style peanuts i dont have to drive 7.5 hrs away to manifest it..Finally i can only tell you how i felt and the experience that i had received when i had purchased from Carillos Mexican Store. The only thing i can suggest if you decide to visit is keep an open mind, its not gonna be all of mexico in there but im sure youll find that little mexican dish for tonights dinner or the saturday night bbq with friends or the neighbor. .”
