I worked for Blaggs for years in the early 2000’s until 2015 me Bob Blagg and wife Linda were awesome to work for. You could always count on hours and you could go to any supervisor and ask questions and they’d take time to talk to you. A wonderful bunch of co-workers! I’d love to come back and work with them again. WhenSteve and his wife ran it it was much more organized and different style of working conditions but still a great place to work for. Although I’m not sure who’s running it now I’ve heard not so good things from former employees about the new owners. But I am always willing to do my best and give everyone a chance to prove who they are and can be. I was at one time a manager there in the lunch sandwich line before I transferred to the fire lines as the baker and cook. I treated everyone with respect and worked around schedules to accommodate as best as could be under circumstances, as we are an emergency company and things can change in a heartbeat. I do remember though that new hires out in the field should be trained and or made to understand it’s not a Mac Donald’s kind of job where you can just hang out waiting for the clock to tick by and you get paid by the hour!! When you go out to the field, or in the warehouse you are there to work as fast a possible and do a good job. No mistakes as it costs dearly if mistakes are made throughout the company. The number of firefighters and other workers can change in an instance and when the company agrees to an order from a fire or emergency they have a time frame to get the orders filled and transported to the location of the emergency. You are never asked ever by any management to do something they themselves would not do thee same. It’s a hard job but fun and you make some very good friends in the process. You do want to go back every season. It’s got good pay and is a fair place to work and grow.
