The rooms have been remodeled in the last few years. Amenities are in the rooms and available at the front desk, too.
Grateful, they still have a "homeiness" like the original lodge.
My Mom, at 91, uses a walker. The staff, the guests and others were so helpful, too.
The High Mountain Air cleanses are souls.
Our drive to Alpine Lake was enjoyable, since the pass was open.

We had the privilege of working at Bear Valley Lodge this summer and enjoyed every bit of it! We are a team of videographers and loved working here with the staff. Not only is the venue stunning but the staff was so friendly! Highly recommend this venue to any couple. Can't wait to go back!

This is a nice place and is the only way to get a room for less than $200 a night in this area. The lodge is about 55 years old and probably hasent seen a major upgrade in all that time. The single biggest gripe, i had wad thst there is NO Air conditioning in the rooms. If you are booking a room in the summer, request a room on the EAST side of the building as the summer afternoon heat can make rooms pretty hot in the afternoon/evenings if you have a westward facing room. Also, the least expensive room is $135, but the actual price is $188.50 per night due to all the taxes and add-on fees. Still, its a good value, i think and would stay there again. PS: there are very few restraunts here and they are only open a few hours per week. Bring an ice chest with food as the rooms dont have a fridge, microwave or coffee maker. There is a microwave and small fridge on the first floor.

I'll be coming back and definitely recommend! I showed up pretty late - around 10PM and was able to check in and get to my room easily. The night clerk is always around.
There are a few different food and grocery options, we were happy with them. The shuttle is a nice service but not fun to wait on.
Our outlets weren't working when we got in so our devices didn't charge but they fixed them the next morning. One of our windows got stuck open and it was freezing but we were all so tired we just dealt with it.
All in all - a fun trip and I'll definitely be back many times.

I just got shoved by an employee in the pizza restaurant here while waiting in line for 5 minutes waiting for the hostess. He pushed in front of me and then she saw and still took his order and attempted to try and take another order after that leaving me waiting. I left because I will never support this business again. Your employees are incredibly rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. I cannot believe that this just happened. Rooms are disgusting. Ambience lacks, everything is dirty and dusty. I can’t believe this place exists.

What a joke. Good luck finding something decent to eat around this place. Your best option is to head back to Arnold to find something decent. Stopped into the general store today inside the lodge because it was the only thing open in the place with food. My advice, unless you're a diabetic suffering from hypoglycemia and have no other choice, avoid this place at all cost. You have been warned!

Lots of snow everywhere. A little hole in the wall place. That's very nice and comfortable.

My husband and I got married here five years ago (a January wedding in 2019!) and everything was perfect. We came back here for our 5 year wedding anniversary and this place is just as lovely as we remember it. Unpretentious without feeling cheap, close to slopes and activities (we went snowmobiling this time and it was amazing). Winter is their busy season, so have patience with the staff as they're juggling the needs of lots of people at once! But they've always been great to us. We will be back for sure.
