“Coffee Road Animal Hospital is great. I used to go to another vet here in Bakersfield and they were just a money mill and didn’t care about the animals. I switched over because my dog had really really bad anxiety and was on medication. He had also developed a mass on his side. When I first brought him in there each vet that we saw was so compassionate and caring. They got down on the floor with him and helped to calm him before doing anything. The staff remember him and even went above and beyond when we had to put him down.
I also just recently brought in my cat because of an overgrown and infected nail between his thumb and paw. The vet was super nice and took great care of him.
If you’re looking for a vet in Bakersfield I would highly recommend Coffee Road Animal Hospital. I won’t take my animals anywhere else.”
“A friend referred me to Dr. Thurman and team and I cannot thank her enough. I recently took the first of two cats for an annual exam and introduction. I immediately felt "at home" from the moment I walked in. I also appreciated not having to wait an extensive time; I feel like they schedule appropriately to see the animals (and their humans) in a timely manner.
Upon my first call, the office was not accepting new clients. While disappointed, I admired that they did not over schedule themselves. I have since been able to secure a spot thankfully.
I highly recommend giving this team a call if you're looking for a new veterinarian.”

“my cat started peeing blood last night around 10pm and by today at 1pm cookes had me in the office despite never having been there before. i don't get paid until tomorrow and they told me they'd rather treat him and wait for payment than postpone his visit and cause him harm. they gave me amazing service and prescribed him pain killers, antibiotics, and prescription cat food and i was out by 1:30. my cat is always scared at the vet but felt right at home there. they didn't charge me for an emergency visit and completely covered the pain medication without pet insurance. the head veterinarian and his assistants did an amazing job and this will be the only vet i ever take my son chunk to”
“Not a better bet in town. I have been bringing my pets here since I've been in Bakersfield, which has been since 1999 and recommend to anyone needing anything pet related.
What makes it different here is you know for sure the vet is not only well educated, but she genuinely cares for the animals. She usually offers two levels of pricing if possible, and explains why the animal needs what, in a way that makes sense to someone with zero experience or knowledge in animal care and health.
She is empathetic to the animal and owner, making it easy to trust her diagnosis as well as the ease of decision making knowing what's best for your pet is on the table and they will be in good hands.

“Only place I take my dog, I get her nails trimmed her but they are great with everything, they care about your animal and try to please us as well. They have a medical aide and a grooming aide you should stop what you are doing and schedule with them if you're reading this.”
