I purchased my car at North Bakersfield Toyota (NBT) and took it in regularly for maintenance there. For the first few years the service was great, but after that they started doing strange things. One time, when I took my car in for a regular maintenance, they asked me if I wanted some stuff cleaned off of the battery, lifting the hood and showing me why it should be done, right at the start, and I accepted. It was a simple thing, where they just were supposed to clean the stuff off. After I got the car back from NBT, I had to take it to get it smogged, and while I was there the guy lifted the hood and I noticed that NBT hadn't cleaned the stuff off. So, I looked at my receipt, and I did pay for that, but it wasn't done. So, it made me wonder what else I had been paying for that they hadn't done.Another time, someone changed all of my saved music settings to different stations. I guess this wasn't that big of a deal, but it just felt unprofessional, and I expect more from a dealership.Another time, I asked NBT to fix my wiper blade because the insert looked like it was falling out, this was during a time that I took it in for maintenance. The guy had mentioned a low price for it, and then later on he came up to me and showed me the wiper blade broken in half. It wasn't broken in half when it was on my vehicle, but now he wanted more money to fix it. There have been other iffy things that have happened at NBT, and I can't say that I trust most of the people they hire to talk to you before you get your car worked on. Also, their service charge feels very overpriced for the quality and kind of work that is done there. My mom has bought most of her cars from Bill Wright, and when I told her about what was happening to me at NBT, including the prices for my maintenance, she was shocked. There was at least one time when I heard something that sounded like there was something wrong with the car and when I took it in for maintenance at NBT nothing was mentioned about it to me at all. I left the place still hearing the same sound. It was an uncomfortable feeling. Also, on one occasion I had the car light come on, and I don't live near NBT, but also I had just had a checkup at NBT not long before this. So, I took it to the Pep Boys to just check it out and let me know what was going on. Pep Boys checked the car, and told me that the battery on the car was about to die soon and that it needed to be replaced. I thought it was strange since I had recently bought a brand new battery at NBT. Anyway, the battery was luckily still under warranty, but if I had waited to go to NBT for my maintenance, the battery would have died just before my normal maintenance date and its warranty would have been expired. The whole thing just felt uncomfortable, especially given some of the other experiences I had there. The above experiences aren't the only issues I've had there either.I wish I had a better review for NBT because buying my car there was a great time in my life. It's too bad everything went downhill from there. NBT doesn't appear to value their loyal customers. I certainly wouldn't recommend getting maintenance or repairs done there at all.

This was one of the many dealerships I reached out to when looking for a car. The fellow I was working with was nice and not pushy. He understood what I wanted and didn't try to sell me anything else. He kept following up as well over the few weeks I was looking. Unfortunately, another dealership found my car first, but I would have had no problem buying my car at this dealership. Keep them on your radar if you're in the market.

I took my car in for an oil change. They said it would take an hour. I made my appointment for 7:15 am as I had to be to work. It took them 2.5 hours. I lost hours at my job because of their poor service. They didn't even offer an apology.

They do not put the customer at attention, they do not have confidence, they say that if they order the parts and nothing, you have to be begging for them to order things for you

The salesman, Scott was a great guy throughout the process. I had no problems with him and he's a good guy. I can not say the same for the bald finance guy. While Scott was getting my brand new Corolla Hybrid ready, I went into the finance guys office. I can't remember his name but he is bald, bad teeth, very unprofessional and very rude. He wouldn't take NO for an answer and was just very pushy. I politely said no to some of the "extra protection plans" but he just started typing with anger and banging his pen on the screen with even more anger. Once we were all signed and ready to go, he ripped his card out of my folder and said "you don't need this"He was just so rude and made my first time car buying experience very very horrible. I wouldn't recommend coming here if that's how they do business. I'd give it a 1 start but Scott did help that.

If I could give them a 0 star rating I would. This was the most unreliable, incompetent dealership I've ever encountered. "...We just don't know how to fix it..." was always the answer I got from the service advisor and shop foreman. I had to take my vehicle back to dealership everyday for 8 consecutive days. Management was so unprofessional and unapologetic. Would never recommend this dealership or Toyota ever again after this horrific experience. They really are mediocre.

Worst dealer in Bakersfield. They don't know how to do repairs properly. They lie to corporate and to the bureau of automotive repair when you escalate the issues.Their proper fix are glue , zip ties and rags instead or replacing parts .Please make sure they document everything they going to do . This dealer does not stand by their word and will flip things around . This dealer will not address of known safety issues. Staff including management never call back when you bring up concerns including the following :Brandon Valdez John MarsTimJames CruzAndy PapasHad a driver seat cover becoming loose multiple times . Instead of taking it apart and aligning it correctly and reinstalling it or replacing it North Bakersfield Toyota just glued it back together . They ruined the seat cover and seat cushion. They finally had a 3rd party Upholstery shop replace the seat cushion and seat cover. When they dealer put it back together they left one of the rear rail covers out of place . I brought it back next day and Tim didn't write it up as a repeat issue . They took my tuck to the back and had someone place it back into place . I also have an issue with the fog, lights being loose and rattling and causing a strobe pattern. North Bakersfield solution put rags behind them and secure them with zip ties. Which is a fire hazard and safety issue I'm blinding everyone light pattern is not straight. This is a know issue with Trd pro tundras and sequoia and toyota have an updated bezels to fix this issue . After escalation of issue to toyota USA and bureau of automotive repair. North bakersfield toyota only wants to replace bezels with the non updated versions. They also lied to toyota USA and bureau of automotive repair stating I declined the repair. Last issue I have is with the center console . The leather is coming loose from the bottom . They replaced my center console lid with a defective one . The new one has corner that the leather is cracked . I brought to their attention and Tim stated they going to get it replaced . I waited a few weeks and never heard back regarding parts arrived. I reached out to Tim , Brandon Valdez never heard back . I escalated toJohn Mars, James Cruz , Andy Papas . I don't hear back . I contact toyota USA and they had James and john call me back and stated it's not covered under warranty and state it was caused by an outside source . I brought this to Toyota USA and North Bakersfield Toyota has lied to corporate I never brought the crack to their attention (dealer never decided to document it). They also lied to Toyota USA that I'm declining the repair with the lights.I personally believe they are trying retaliate against me because I called the bureau of automotive repair and Toyota USA on them. This isn't the first my first vehicle they do improper repairs and caused damages.

Don't waste your time to be given a terrible price, and be ready to fight off all the excessive fees just for them to tell you, you can't buy the car until you add a warranty you don't need.

I started working with Kyle Wolfe May 2022, it started with placing a deposit to get on a list for a Tundra TRD Pro but as the time passed I switched over to the Sequoia TRD Pro as it fitted the needs better.I received updates monthly at the longest with Kyle letting me know he was still on the hunt for one. I looked around, both locally at the other Toyota dealership and outside of Kern County but none of them was up front about what they knew and if or how long their lists of waiting customers was.The first glimpse arrived late December, early January from Kyle that the Sequoia TRD Pro would start being built January 28th and the anticipation grew by ten fold. I finally received the spec sheet on what color it would be out and in, what amenities it would have and in February I heard it was finished and in transit. The wait was definitely worth it but at the same time nerve wrecking since I never waited this long for a vehicle and one like the Sequoia TRD Pro.The day was here, I received the picture of it on the trailer about to be offloaded at North Bakersfield Toyota and next thing I realize, were signing the documents with finance. In the past 20+ years of purchasing vehicles, not one salesman really stood out for straight forward communication and providing a reliable source of that communication. Kyle was top tier in customer service up to the end when handing me the keys and shaking my hand for my purchase. If you are in the market for a vehicle, seek out Kyle at North Bakersfield Toyota, he will make your next purchase smooth like butter!

Gabriel in the service department is super helpful! He explains things in a way that I can understand and takes the time to answer all of my questions clearly. If you have anything tricky that other mechanics can't help you with, these guys will figure it out for you! I highly recommend them.

My partner and I went to few dealerships to see what offers they would give us for our mint Toyota Hybrid. We walked in and a woman at the front desk got us connected to a man named Eric/k. We told him our intentions for selling our car and he proceeded to ramble on for an extremely long time without any time frame of our requested quote. This is our first time requesting this type of service and it would have been nice for him to break down the process for us instead of giving us a ton of personal information about himself. My partner enjoyed the conversation with him because she thought he was a sincere person. We were unaware this was a tactic to make himself seem more personable, like he was a "good guy". After 2 hours of endless chatter, his best offer was not what we expected after being flooded with promo emails of 110% buy back. Eric @ Toyota offered $29,000 and CarMaxx offered $32,000. Who would you go with? Since Eric seemingly enjoyed conversation with my partner, we thought we could call him with a simple question. We called him to ask about the hours of operation of the finance team in his establishment. He rudely said to "google it" and gave us attitude because we didn't go with his lower offer. He said "that's a carmaxx issue not mine". Wow. He had us in his cubicle acting as if he was our buddy then stonewalls us with a simple question. After he gave us his personal cell number to call with "any questions". Let me state this simply: Bakersfield car salesmen are only after your commissions. Go to CarMaxx if you want to sell your car. If you are ok with a used car ask for Brianna from Carmaxx. Thank you Eric for showing us your true colors. Good luck everyone!

I took my car in 2 weeks ago to get serviced. I got an oil change, transmission flush, & they talked me into getting my battery terminals cleaned. The technician told me the battery terminal cleaning would help my battery last longer. Anytime I get my car serviced they check my battery life. Apparently they didn't do that this time. It's been only 2 weeks & my battery completely died. They basically had me waste $50. What's the point in recommending it, but not telling me my battery life is bad? Also, last year they told me my breaks were going bad. I had my work look at them & they were fine. I went back 5 months later for an oil change & they said the breaks were fine. I don't know if they just aren't actually checking the breaks and battery or if they just don't know what they're doing. Regardless, it's frustrating because they are the dealership I bought my car from... I thought it would be best to take my car to Toyota but I guess not.

I recently traded my 2020 Kia Sportage for a new 2023 Toyota Rav 4 Sport. The Salesman Joshua and Finance Person Troy were both very accommodating and helped me complete the deal in a time that worked for me. I highly recommend this Toyota. Thank you so much Joshua and Troy! We love my new car!

I'm debating between two and three stars, and am giving North Bakersfield Toyota three stars by merit of their historical performance having been quite good. Lately however their quality of service has declined; I arrived on a Saturday shortly after opening to find that the service doors were still closed, delaying all service appointments; not a huge deal, but this comes into play later. To top this off, they completely overlooked my broken taillight and, on my service form, checked the box that indicated all exterior lights were in good working order. When they sent me their follow up email requesting feedback, I responded with both of these points, and addressed the man who sent the email (whose name I will exclude for the time being to give him an opportunity to correct the error) that my confidence in North Bakersfield Toyota has diminished, due to these reasons and a few others that have occurred in previous recent visits, and that I would like for him to work with me on correcting this. A full week later, absolutely no response came, and now here I am leaving this review to warn any readers that North Bakersfield Toyotas service department is a shell of its former self. Ultimately, their former high quality of service was what kept me coming back to them while poor service led me to abandon other auto makers; unfortunately this seems to be the case for this franchise as well. I now recommend looking elsewhere for your service needs and, if that's a deal maker/ deal breaker for where you purchase your vehicle, looking elsewhere altogether. Edit: I would also like to point out that there are zero responses from a representative to any of these Yelp reviews. What a difference that would make, instead this demonstrates their indifference.

Shout out to Kyle and his financial guy. Honest to god never thought being in bakersfield for work training that id leave with a truck. Blessed that the help and transition of trading my older car in for this beautiful 2020 Dodge Ram was smooth as butter. Highly recommend in dealing with Kyle
