Honest review of my car-buying experience at Standard Auto Sales on August 27, 2024. I found a vehicle through FB Marketplace for sale here a couple of months ago. Periodically, I received sales calls from the dealership asking if I was still interested. I did a lot of research on the SUV I purchased and I expressed an interest in the car. Cristian was my salesperson. He was polite, seemed knowledgeable about the features of the vehicle I was interested in, however I felt there were a couple of pointers that could have made this a better experience for me.
Point #1: Cristian did a classic bait and switch on the price of the vehicle, when I let him know I was looking to stay at "$23,000.00 out the door" for the car. Cristian specifically stated: "I would be able to do that out the door" VIA TEXT MESSAGE and then when I got there, he wrote up the sales proposal at the original selling price, completely denying that he told me that he made that representation. I pulled out my phone and showed him, in front of David, that he did in fact, assure me he could sell the vehicle at that price, he then stated that it was a mistake and he shouldn't have done that. Please be aware that if you are negotiating by text (because you might be coming from out of town like I was) that if they promise you anything on the price of the vehicle, that will not apply once you arrive.
Point #2: As soon as he took my down payment, Cristian left me in the waiting room and left with another customer on a test drive, without even acknowledging the status of my paperwork or letting me know he had to step out for a few minutes or that someone else would take over. It was 37 minutes (I timed it on my phone) before I saw him again. It's not professional to walk out on someone who just handed you thousands of dollars in cash and then act like they no longer exist.
Point #3: Something is wrong with their address listing in Apple Maps or Google Maps and following that set of directions led us to their old location which is now an abandoned building and an empty, weed-filled lot. After two phone calls and some re-routing, we were able to find their current location, which is just a few minutes and miles away.
Point #4: They added a service contract into my sales contract without discussing it with me first, at an extra $3,000.00. I was able to opt-out because I do not feel it is needed at this time. We could have all saved a lot of time if they had asked me first.
All in all, this was a fairly straightforward vehicle purchase. Their offices are clean and comfortable and everyone I encountered was friendly and not pushy at all. It was not a "big dealership" purchase experience in any sense. I was able to secure financing on a beautiful vehicle that is perfect for my family's needs. My vehicle was clean and I was provided with Carfax and other vehicle history reports for my review prior to purchase. I took a star off for the above, but overall this was a positive sales experience and I am beyond happy with my beautiful new (to me) SUV.

Went their looking at trucks. Specifically Ford SuperCrew, I liked this salesperson he was informative yet not overbearing. Very knowledgeable about used cars and trucks. Pricing was good.

I had an appointment setup to come from out of town to purchase a car I’ve been looking for. Sent them all my paperwork over for the loan. They said they sent the Guarantee of title to my bank. Which means they can’t sell the car to anyone else. Then proceeded to sell the car to someone.

I went to sell a car here, and the guy helping me just gave complete scammer vibes. If you go by yourself they will try to intimidate you and knock down pricing trying to get you to budge. They tried to take off $500 for a $60 part that needed to be replaced so I went and fixed myself. if you do decide to sell your car to them just becareful and know what you're talking about or they will try and scam you.

If you want miracles to happen, come here. They fight for you and help you make things happen. I do recommend at least having a grand saved if you do have poor credit like we do. (530) but other than that it’s super easy to get a car. Very good people and I will always go to them for cars and I will always recommend others coming here! If you end up going because of my review please say the Tennison’s encouraged you to go. We have friend who would appreciate it very much.❤️

My son bought a 2015 black mustang with low miles 2 months ago. It now is in shop for transmission problems, and more than likely will need a new one.

Salvador has saved me for the second time!! These guys are amazing! I won't ever buy from anywhere else. They continue go out of their way to help me. I have now bought 2 cars from them and they are caring and everyone is always so friendly and very informative. I've never been left in the dark about any questions I've had. They've gone above and beyond for me again!! 10/10 love these guys.

Cristian at Standard Auto Sales got me into an incredible King Ranch with the least amount of hassle I’ve ever experienced in car-buying! Trade-in process was incredibly fair and transparent, and my total time at the dealer was less than 2 hours! Would definitely recommend these folks!

There is a reason dealers like this go out of business because they have no customer service. Christian had me run my credit numerous times, qualified and was going to pick up the truck. I call him hours after not hearing back from him again. The truck had already sold and said he was too busy to get a hold of me when he had already told me the truck would be there for me.

Yes, I can relate with everybody. I had this guy name Irwin chavez try helping me get a car have him run my Credit ran my credit he said my credit was amazing but I was making a little bit, so I needed a cosigner worst experience ever please guys don't go to this dealership there nothing but scammers with junk cars don't fall into their webs I wouldn't recommend this car dealership to anybody. They should be closed down....

Christian at standard auto sales is the go to guy !!!! Took care of us and made us a sweet deal !! Overall we are very happy customers!! This is our 3rd vehicle from standard auto sales and our second diesel truck !!
