Than, a total stranger to us, but a Village Pet local customer...as a complete surprise, gifted us our purchase. He left the store before we realized he had offered such a sweet gift. Some animals are taken care of better then others, but that is how all pet stores are. The main lady who works there is very nice, and will answer any questions you ask. I highly recommend this pet store if you want a pet or animal supply’s. I did see a mouse on the floor though. I don’t hold that against them when they have so many snakes. I have been multiple times and they are consistently clean.

She did a great job. 3rd was a my long haired chihuahua who is scared to death of everything. In 3 years, no groomer has ever been able to fully shave him, just a little bit on his rear. Desiree was able to fully shave him without stressing him out and was able to clean up his face with help from 2 other groomers. My only direction was to clean him up as much as possible without stressing him out. They did an amazing job and my pups were all happy.

I spent 3 hours shaving her and cutting through years of mats and couldn't get through the mats on her legs and feet. The groomer allowed me to bring her in as a walk-in and got all the rest of the severe mats off her feet, cleaned up the messy shaving I did, and trimmed her nails. Thank you so much for your kindness for this little girl.

The staff were very helpful and understanding throughout the process. Dr. B was absolutely amazing! We couldn't have asked for anything more. We paid a pretty penny but it was expected and worth it we just wanted our baby to be taken care of. I would recommend and take him back should he ever need it.

I immediately felt "at home" from the moment I walked in. I also appreciated not having to wait an extensive time; I feel like they schedule appropriately to see the animals (and their humans) in a timely manner.
Upon my first call, the office was not accepting new clients. While disappointed, I admired that they did not over schedule themselves. I have since been able to secure a spot thankfully.
I highly recommend giving this team a call if you're looking for a new veterinarian.

We had our Rottweiler puppy do the basic “manners” board and train in 2024 because at 5 months and 50lbs she was a bit of a bull in a china shop and almost knocked my mom down a few times. Harlan took his time to build my pup’s confidence and even keep her an extra week no charge to make sure they didn’t rush the process. Every time we went to train with her she was so sweet and happy, I could tell they treated her well. Fast forward a year later and she’s still doing great! We use their Daycare and Boarding often. My Gypsy girl gets So excited to go see her friends at ASDO!!

408 21st St, BakersfieldHad a last minute weekend trip pop up on a Friday morning, and having just relocated to Bakersfield from Michigan two months ago, knowing no one here yet to watch our dog Hank, we were in a bind. I called around and this location helped me right away with getting booked! My interaction with them on the phone immediately put me at ease.
We’ve never had Hank boarded anywhere and I was very nervous dropping him off but the facility and staff were so great, it really eased my worries. He’s a little guy, so I get nervous leaving him anywhere but the staff let me know how well he played with the other small dogs. They do a great job grouping the dogs together based on temperament and size.
I am so glad we have a trusted place in town to take Hank now, and I’ll be scheduling an appointment to get him groomed as well.

Neptune and I went through the standard package training and it has been an amazing experience. My only regret is that I didn’t start the training sooner. I feel like I have a new confident dog. I take him for walks everyday, he’s crate trained and he can even hang out in the front yard without running away. Nick and Kassandra are great trainers, very well organized and extremely knowledgeable. The studio is always clean and a very comfortable place to bring your dog. I have recently gotten a new puppy and have started applying the training I learned to him and he is doing great as well. Elevated Canine has been worth every penny. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

I've boarded at a few other local places before finding Cowen's; this is the first place my boy didn't come home stinky and stressed. Cowen's is very clean and offers a couple of options such as leaving the kennel to go to potty, which is great for Hank. During our last stay, Hank had a bath and this is the cleanest I've ever seen him - not an easy task with all of his fur and drool!

Called 4 places with high ratings and no one answered. The boat rental company gave me Tail of Success number. I called Roy last minute and he couldn't have been more polite and accommodating. I brought our dog over 30 minutes later and his place was new, spotless and filled with happy dogs. He communicated with us via text for updates, sent a video and even took him for a walk. He was a true lifesaver! 5 Star rating!

Our pup would take off after the bird on day one and when we got him back he is steady and retrieves to hand. Very pleased with the outcome. Ron is easy to work with and always up front when it comes to training and the progress and potential on your dog, and the price is really reasonable compared to other trainers. Brought our female in and he was up front about her not really being motivated for the hunt and the birds. I would recommend Fongeo kennels. Thanks Ron!

Misters, lounge chairs and couches and tables. Good wine and beer. You can order pizza from Nextdoor, the dough is 10/10, out of this world, excellent. They have a blueberry pizza!?! (I didn’t try it but I will next time) They have board games and TVs. So happy we stopped in and will for sure be back (margaritas are a pre mix)

1415 24th St, BakersfieldWent for breakfast with 2 others around 10:05 to be exact,our server took our oder like 3 minutes later. 2 of us ordered steak and eggs and the other ordered chilaquiles. Our server was great she kept refilling our water when she noticed we had none so that was cool however as we waited for our food other people arrived then more and more, long story short those who arrived after us received their food before us and not to mention we got our food at approximately 10:50 am or so and I know that because one of the person's i was with had to go to work at 12 so we ate kinda rushed which was a bit un cool but let me assure you that I will be returning because the food was super amazing very delicious and the steak i ordered was cooked exactly how I asked which was medium well.. however our bill was about $91 dollars for 3 which is kinda on the pricey side nonetheless im sure ill be going back soon.

It makes my heart happy to see these poor cat and kittens have a safe haven where they are safe and sound. This has become one of my favorite places in Bakersfield. The way everything is set up it's so adorable, these little cat houses and adorable cats roaming around is just so pure. I admire these folks for taking time to provide these innocent little fur babies shelter. Thank you cat people
