I took in my expensive whites to get cleaned and hopefully look like new again. They included my sporty tennis shoes, a lululemon jacket and a lululemon pullover sweatshirt. I was blown away by how they turned out, especially my shoes. They returned my shoes to me with tissue paper inserted inside just like they were brand new!!!! I will definitely be using New City again!! Thank you so much.

I’m giving my experience a one-star just for the quality of cleaning and overall experience. However I would like to note Gerald was a knowledgeable man and for his communication I would consider it a 3-star experience. There’s just a few things I wished had been different.First and foremost this was my first experience ever with a dry cleaner and a wedding dress. I was referred to this establishment as they have been known to work with vintage garments. My wedding dress was a 1953 William Cahill vintage piece and although it wasn’t very dirty, it did smell old and had a few stains. I took it to New City Cleaners to freshen it up and hope to get the stains out. Gerald informed me that it wouldn’t be a 100% guarantee to get the stains out and didn’t want to put too much work on those areas due to the delicacy of the vintage tulle (he noted it could burn through). I confirmed I understood. I paid a total of $395 to have my dress dry cleaned.I picked up the dress a few days later and the dress was packed in a blue bag stapled to a cardboard filler. When I got home and took the dress out of the plastic bag I was greeted by a horrendous smell. Almost like a perm solution. I called New City and spoke to Gerald about my concerns for the smell of the dress as it was making me sick. He noted it needed to be aired out for at least a week. I also noted that the dress was still dirty on the hem as well. I expressed I was unhappy with the service because 1. My dress was still dirty, and 2. It smelled even worse than it had before. He told me to give it a week and call him back. So I did, and nothing was really ever done. I called again two weeks later to let them know the smell was still present and they didn’t offer much help nor even mention refund for dissatisfaction of service. The dress did eventually lightly air out 2 months later but the entire room it was in with the windows open stunk for another few weeks. The fumes were just so strong. I was also upset as the cardboard filler my dress was stapled to did cause some slight holes. Eventually the top of my dress was altered but had it not been, the quality of my dress could've been damaged from them stalking my dress to the cardboard.I think the biggest issue I had actually came on my wedding day. It rained, and when my dress got wet that horrible smell of perm solution (skunky burnt rubber), came out and I actually had a reaction to the chemicals. My arms and chest were red and covered in hives. So that was definitely unpleasant. I didn’t have this reaction when the dress was dry, just when it got wet.All in all, I definitely regret getting my dress dry cleaned. It ruined it. I was able to get the stains out myself by using Oxiclean. They lifted quickly and the integrity of the tulle was fine.I wish I had known about the smell and more about the chemicals used to wash it. I wasted almost $400 for a dress that wasn’t clean and caused me to have an allergic reaction. After the wedding I took my dress to a vintage dress cleaner and she made right by slowly cleaning and preserving the dress for a fraction of the cost. It also didn’t smell like perm solution so that was nice.Services: Special care fabric cleaning

Funny how reviews are either stellar or horrible. In over 100 drop offs over 30 years , maybe 1 or 2 items weren't right. For a while the simple stuff we would send to cheaper places but suits , dresses and the hard stuff always to New City. Reliable

Have used New City for many years, as did my parents- we go back at least 50 years using them. Always happy with their results on my finer clothes. We did have one recent incident where the garment was not cleaned to our expectations and unfortunately it also shrunk. The owner discussed with me and made good on the situation, which we greatly appreciated. Will continue to use them for the clothes we consider "investments."

No matter how difficult the stain or how unique the piece of clothing I've given them they've been able to make it at least significantly better and often like new. We had some pillows that had some grease stains and it came back at 100%

The quality is good but the service is bad. Very difficult to communicate, lack of accountability and not polite . Very challenging to be an on going customer . In my opinion this service is repetitive and good communication is needed . Tried the pick and delivery service and that was a huge mistake ! Constantly having to call where our dry cleaning is , they don't know where it is but will call me back . They never call back have to call again . Then they say the owner will deliver them ,, but he never shows up . So again I call and now have to pick them up . Not good ! It should not be thIs difficult.

They do such a great job! Your clothes will stay pristine for longer than you’ll even want them. Always look like a new purchase.

Wow what a great job on my winter sweaters and coats. I absolutely love the way my sweaters were returned to me, very professionally cleaned and packaged. And hats off to the seamstress that does the alterations, had a couple skirts shortened and they turned out great. I highly recommend New City Cleaners for quality dry cleaning and alterations.

Had a bad experience with Manager Lesley Reneau, She is bad news. Actually it was from a previous position she no longer has with KGET, she sold me some air time that never panned out and she said it would. Never paid the last bill and she put a poor rating on Google which I thought was not cool. Not only that Lesley gave one of my competitors information about me that she shouldn't have. This incident happened over 3 years ago, but she just put the rude comment on 2 months ago. And now she manages New City Cleaners, watch out everybody.

We used New City Cleaners for approximately one year to clean our employee's coveralls. They were reasonably priced, plus they would pick up the coveralls at our office and return them when done. They required a credit card to charge for the services, several months in we noticed $200 charges at the beginning of each month. We never have anything close to this amount, we asked the service person, bookkeeper and always were told they would investigate and call back, it never happened. We called at least 6 to 8 times with the same result. I went to their office and a new employee pulled up a record of the garments picked up by their driver, and confirmed we never had garments even total $100, she called bookkeeper and again they said they would call back, never happened. Then almost 8 months later they call back like nothing happened wanting to restart business. I reminded them of our prior situation and AGAIN she said she would call back. Then recently the pickup driver called and asked if we had any garments to pick up for cleaning in what appeared to be trickery.... This company lacks integrity and never resolved nor returned the overcharges....
