I had a carne asada burrito, though seemingly basic (only had carne asada, rice, and refried beans), it was very delicious. I only wish it came with more stuff, maybe I needed to specify that stuff but I have come to be expected to receive it/be asked if I wanted it.

Let me preface this comment with saying I enjoy shopping at Vallarta. Their products are great and have great prices. But their employees are terrible. Whenever I go through self check out 9/10 there's a very rude worker dogging people out and never look approachable. And when I do have a question or need help the employee looks like they can't bare to help. Or they have a condescending tone. Which really sucks because I love the connivence of the store and great products. Vallarta please get your staff together. Not all of us are theives that need to be watched the entire time at check out. Nor should your employees be so rude.

We love supermarkets with good hot food choices. Vallarta Supermarket did not disappoint. A tip from a local pointed us to get some good food there. Their kitchen had many choices to choose from. They have a long list of meat choices for tacos and they have other prepared dishes for plates or sold by weight. We decided to share a 3 taco plate (pastor, lengua, and chipotle chicken) with rice and beans and a large container of pork ribs in green sauce, and 1 med watermelon agua fresca. There were 4 or 5 agua fresca choices. It was not busy at the kitchen so we got out order pretty quickly. The tacos were street taco sizes with double corn tortillas. They all were heated on the flat top and picked up the flavors of the meats. They were all very good. The rice and beans were tasty as well. The pork ribs in green sauce had meaty chunks of bone in pork ribs that were fall apart tender. The green sauce was flavorful with a bit of heat. I had no idea that a medium agua fresca is 32 oz! Luckily. the watermelon aqua was deliciously watermelony and not too sweet.

Reviewing the restaurant part of the market, Decided to try out the restaurant part since we always come by to get the freshly made frescas, which we are very fond of... Line was long as usual, only one register open and only one person was cooking food. So it was a long wait. Ordered 2 of the 3 chicken taco combo plates with beans and rice, a bean and cheese burrito and a pupusa. With of course 2 watermelon frescas. The chicken is there rotisserie chicken, chopped up, no mexican flavoring to it at all... Good flavor, but looks bland and doesn't have anything special to it... The corn tortillas where a bit hard, they had a good authentic flavor but where not fresh, The rice was either over cooked or old because it was hard and needed salt. The beans where pretty good, but a little to chunky and had no cheese... The green salsa was excellent. My mom loved the bean burrito, it too had no cheese though.. My husband loved his pupusa and it ended up being the highlight of the meal. Paid about 30$ total for everything. Which is not bad... But quality wise, Not very impressed at all... Oh well you live and you learn. :)

I used Instacart today to have some groceries delivered at a friend's house . I was a little hesitant since it was my first time using such an app. Thank you Kelsee for a delivery well done. I appreciate being notified of my delivery process from leaving the store to dropping off my order. I will definitely use the app again.

Mexican food is okay to purchase here, however the your regular brand name American products are expensive. Today, t thought let's have al pastor tacos. Shopping and the store is crowded but check out was fast. Walking out to the car we encounter a white truck parted on so close to my car that my passenger could not enter the vehicle. I looked at the truck and nocked on the door and asked if the could please move because we couldn't enter our vehicles. The gal stated NO. She said, "move your car back and you can get in". I asked, not even to be nice? and she said NO And over time this place has been invaded... ghetto (It often the ghetto, is a part of a city in which members of a minority group live, typically as a result of social, legal, or economic pressure.

Scary location, parking lot had a lot of people who don't have shirt and asking for money. The inside is a mess too crowded and so hard to maneuver the cart. The green produce are old and too wet. Wont come back.

Living in California you really end up having a devoted love for Mexican food. So when planning on making tacos for dinner you wouldn't choose Vons if you wanted to make authentic yummy tacos, am i right or am i right?! Exactly. So first off right when you enter you can smell the fresh tortillas being made, UH HEAVEN. What really got me what the prices and deals on produce. I stoked up on tons fresh fruits and veggies for way under what i expected to spend this grocery trip. Definitely a fan that there's so many options both for the Spanish brands we love and also the usual stuff like Kellogg's and so on. What really makes this place extra special and not your usual boring grocery store outing is that they have a huge area of fresh authentic Mexican delicacies. You can find ceviche, tamales, tacos, a salsa bar loaded with even grilled whole jalapeí±os. Be prepared to get suckered in by all the lovely desserts and pastries on your way out, trust me you won't regret indulging a little. Wish they had more registers open during high volume times, therefore the lack of the missing 5th star,m. Nonetheless love me some Vallarta shopping.

Ordered a carne Asada burrito, which consisted of 60% rice, 20% beans, and 20 % Asada, lack of flavor and seasoning.. The Aguas frescas are good though but need a good chef to give flavor to their food

You know I keep forgetting to go to this store. Everyone there is always happy and really helpful. Of course I can't speak or read Spanish so I give them that dear in the headlight look when I don't understand what they are saying. The produce looks awesome the avocado's were huge although they weren't that cheap but made some really good gauc. I'll be back again for more vegi's
