I was driving down Highway 99 into Bakersfield when my transmission completely stopped working. I pulled off the highway and knew I needed to find a honest mechanic so I took to Google. I have to say I’m so thankful that I found Johnny at Johnny’s Transmission!!! We all know how valuable Google reviews are when it comes to deciding on where to go and I was instantly impressed by Johnny’s previous reviews so I called him right away. He was very nice and easy to talk to he explained everything to expect for the process of ordering and installing my remanufactured transmission. He gave me a competitive price quote and there were NO hidden fees. I am writing this review to help Johnny but also to help YOU to make your own decision on trusting Johnny with your vehicle.My transmission came with a great warranty that Johnny completely explained to me how it all works. He also told me he’s been there in business for 19 years, wow!! I don’t just trust my vehicle with anyone but I know I can trust Johnny and you can trust him too.

My husband found johnnys transmission on Google while at a truckstop when our transmission went out near Bakersfield on our way to take our kids and their friend to Disneyland in anaheim. As we are from a town near Sacramento breaking down in Bakersfield with 6 kids where we knew absolutely no one was stressful but it being fourth of July weekend and a Saturday afternoon as well made it a complete nightmare. Finding Johnny was such a blessing. He went above and beyond to help us not only staying open but being so kind as to drive my husband to the nearby airport so we could get a rental car. He absolutely saved our trip!! He was very kind, honest, knowledgeable, accommodating and we absolutely can't thank him enough. I would absolutely recommend him as we had a wonderful experience. Johnny was absolutely great. Highly recommended! So lucky we found him on our way back to Los Angeles after a trip to Yosemite. Johnny took our call when our RV started flashing ‘check engine’ lights in Bakersfield on Memorial Day after acting up all weekend. When everyone else was closed, he came into the shop and was working on our engine within an hour, even though he’d planned to take the day off and genuinely did not have any space in the shop / parking lot for more vehicles, especially not oversized ones. Even so, he had the engine diagnosed and new parts delivered within minutes; we had a perfectly running RV for our drive home that afternoon. He only told us later on that he wasn’t planning to be around that day but that he came in because he could tell we needed car help pretty urgently. We weren’t surprised when he found and fixed the issue, though we were surprised the RV had been running at all given how close to breaking down it apparently was! Went from sounding like a rusty lawn mower to a new Tesla. He even checked up on us later on in the day to make sure everything was still working properly. If rating him out of 10, I give him an 11. Thanks again, Johnny!

BIG thank you, Johnny's Transmission. While traveling on a Sunday, We broke down in Bakersfield, Ca. I called around, and only Johnny's answered and waited for the tow truck to deliver us with our broken SUV. Upon our arrival, Johnny's greeted us, inspected our SUV, diagnosed and repaired our electrical transmission issue. 1 hour later, we were back on the road. 30min from home, Johnny's called to check on us. I can't remember the last time a repair shop did this. I highly recommend this shop to anyone in the Bakersfield area. THANK YOU JOHNNY'S TRANSMISSION.

My RV has had 4 transmissions replaced before I took ownership and I paid one mechanic $900 to fix the tranny leak while on a trip and it still leaked bad. Johnny took the time to order the best lines and worked around my schedule to do the job right. His work is flawless and now I don't have to worry about a leak or constantly check my fluid level. He's very communicative and keeps his word. It's so hard to find an honest mechanic that knows what he's doing and doesn't make empty promises. His prices are very competitive and more importantly he keeps his word and backs up his work. I recently got screwed going to the wrong smog shop and he's going to fix their mistake for me As well. Best of all whenever I have a problem I can contact him and he answers right away. He doesn't make me wait a long time and gets me in his schedule right away. He's definitely my mechanic for life, I'll never venture out anywhere else. Honestly, knowledge, communication and responsiveness is essential with any field of work. Something most folks lack nowadays. What a gem I found, rest assured, his work gets fixed on the first try.

I just want to say WOW!! I have no words for Johnny’s work. I can’t thank him enough for fixing my car.. I am very satisfied with Johnny’s work! I highly recommend him to anyone, he fixed my car so quick and very professionally. His shop is so organized and so clean that you feel comfortable leaving the car there. My car is like a brand new car just like I bought it 4 years ago! I thought it was impossible to fix this car but I trusted Johnny, and he told me he will fix the car just like I bought it new, and yep he was absolutely right about that! He took his time and really did a clean and nice job he would call me and update me for everything! He even takes pictures and send it to you so you can see what he has done to the car. That’s what I call TOP service!! He even did a lot of extra work on my car without charging extra! My family and I blew our transmission pulling our travel trailer through Bakersfield en route to San Francisco. The warranty on it was only good if we brought it back to the shop in Las Vegas that rebuilt it. Johnny was so polite and friendly. He stored our truck safely indoors while we rented another truck to finish our trip. He also helped me arrange an auto transport to get it back home. Johnny is awesome! I called on Saturday to see if I could get special tail lights installed on my vehicle and Johnny was gracious enough to have me take my vehicle in. He charged a very reasonable rate and did a wonderful job with the installation. He even cleaned up & polished my vehicle. This is GRADE A SERVICE
