The store was organized and had good amount of clothing items. I was disappointed in the pricing, I could get brand new shirts or skirt for $5-$8 at a discount store as well. Overall I'd say it was an okay experience.

Generally, I enjoy this store and love thrifting, especially with my kids, but one of the staff members is continuously rude to me when I check out. She chastised me when she forgot my college discount, and oh, 6 dollars made a lot of difference when I reminded her. On a different day, I asked to put an Item back, and she said I was rude for it and caused all the trouble of ringing it up as my daughter wanted something else, so I apologized and said we are going to get this instead, and she said that's rude and acted as if taking something off and ringing something else up was the worst thing I could do, I think she did not know how to use the register as she kept trying to take it off and could not properly do it. I have worked in customer service for years, and if I acted like this person, I would be fired. also, her attire was not appropriate as her stomach was showing, and I would be dismissed from any position for not having appropriate fitting clothing. Other than that, we love this store and generally find a lot of good things, even if it is priced a little higher. I would instead buy used, and the rest of the staff has always been accommodating.

Terrible. I thrift all over California and Texas and whenever I'm in Bakersfield visiting family I go thrifting. Bakersfield Goodwills consistently have the highest prices and lowest quality merchandise of anywhere I thrift (including expensive neighborhoods in the Bay Area, Southern California, Austin, Dallas, etc). This particular goodwill marks up their merchandise to absurd prices and pulls most quality clothing items for e-com. There's left over just mall brands and garbage. They'll mark any pair of Levi's up to $14.99. Just bop over to any Ventura Goodwill and Levi's are $7.99-9.99 like they should be. Whoever the Regional CEO for Bakersfield is should be ashamed of yourself. Your game is transparent. You're supposedly a non profit. I bet you drive a BMW. What a crock. Greedwill, you get your inventory FOR FREE. And your merchandise in Bakersfield is absolute trash. Wonder why your shelves and racks are bursting with crap? Because nobody wants to play your rip off game. Despite the way you treat your customers, we're not THAT stupid.

This goodwill sucks. Their prices are outrageous. Dresses and shoes prices are over. What the hell!!!!! I got a new dress on sale from JCPenney for $12 . Here, the cheapest dress price is $10. Whoever is behind these ridiculous prices, be reasonable. It's unfair to pay such a price for an item that you got for free. Remember that if your store is still open, it's thanks to the donors and to the customers.

This "rude cashier" is mentioned in several reviews and yes she comes off abrasive like a brillo pad. I used to frequent this location, but the aforementioned cashier and ridiculous prices are driving me away. I also hate how their prices are at the discretion of the cashier. Like why not use the colored freaking tags for pricing?! I bought a plain black shirt for a child that should have been like $2.49 and was charged $3.49 (dres shirt/polo price) . I've bought similar items from different cashiers and have only been charged $2.49. More examples of ridiculously priced items: Used "good" condition (not great) NIKE TODDLER 4T HOODIE for $8.99? seriously? Idk to me that's a bit much. So is $5.99 for a beat up 5T size shirt just because it has Mickey Mouse on it. Next time will take pics and post.

Excellent service from JC. Not like the cashier at Ming and Ashe who had a very ugly face and attitude.

Very disappointed in their customer service. They had a set of 26 classroom books and I asked if they would package them and give me one price and I would buy the art for my classroom. I was told, nope they are priced individually. Needless to say I passed.

Are you kidding me??? Who prices the items?? All of their Shein brand blouses are more expensive than buying new from the Shein website! For example, most blouses on Shein range from $5 to $10. This Goodwill is selling used Shein for $8 to 10 Please familiarize yourselves with brands and know brands like Shein, Target brands, forever 21, ARE NOT "BOUTIQUE" quality. I read some of the responses from owners justifying prices to say every purchase supports the community, and I think that's BS. Everything is donated!! So you guys are already making a profit!! Thrift stores are supposed to be cheap to help people who can't afford retail! You are actually hurting the community with these unethical prices. Ross is officially cheaper than Goodwill.

We always have the best luck finding things at this location! Headed there yesterday and while there had Terry be super helpful. She works shipping and receiving but was so helpful when my daughter had spilled her drink and we needed help with clean up. Then she saw us waiting for changing rooms while 3 other staff looked away and she was right over to help us get access! Thank you Terry!
