We rent vehicles on a regular basis to travel out of town to keep the wear and tear down on our own personal vehicles.The staff was great, the vehicle was clean. That is the norm around here.We did have to wait 30+ minutes longer than expected to be assigned a vehicle, this does seem to be a thing here as well. Vehicles are not ready “being cleaned”The trade off is we get a bigger selection of vehicles to choose from we have security in the parking lot when we have to leave our own vehicle, parking is inexpensive even for long term storage and the hours of operation are much greater then using the rental facilities in town.God bless,Pastor Michael Rodriguez

I experienced mild delays waiting to pick up the car, but it doesn’t impact overall my trip. Car was clean, full tank, and we move forward with no other concern. Airport office customer service was polite and respectfull.

Disappointed with the experience from Budget.Reserved a 12 seater van for my daughter's bday party month in advance, and when we get there, they say we are sorry we dont have any van or suv for you, your reservation should have been taken because we dont have van at this location, and someone should have contacted you.No one did, and I ended up taking a pick up and had to arrange for 2 more cars so we could go and have fun. My daughter was in tears, she was wondering how we gonna pick her friends up.Very disappointed with the situation, have another trip for Christmas, and I dont think I will be using Budget rental again.

I paid for my vehicle in advance as the website says it will guarantee my vehicle will be waiting for me at 8am. I got there at 7:45am and was standing in line. Ray at the counter calls a man up that was sitting and talking on him phone saying he was trying to get a vehicle. Ray gave him my vehicle and told me I had to wait an hour. I had to leave town. I ask for a discount since I was there on time and I paid in advance to make sure I could leave on time. He told me no. The only 2 options would be to wait for an hour or get a vehicle elsewhere. I had no choice but to wait. This put me off schedule for an hour. I had to drive to Indio California to pick up my mom. This was unexcusable for several reasons. Also, when I came back to pick up my vehicle it was a smaller one than what I ordered.

Very disappointed. Their website allows you to book and pay ahead. But then you can show up with no cars available or they tell you that you needed to book 24 hours ahead. It doesn't say on their site that you need to reserve 24 hours ahead and it doesn't prevent you from reserving if it is less than 24 hours. Also this location no longer accepts Debit/Credit cards. They only take straight Credit Cards, even though again, you can do everything online with a Debit/Credit just fine. I was never able to get through to their customer service for a refund. disappointed. Their website allows you to book and pay ahead. This was my first time renting a car. Budget charged me $79 for roadside assistance without my knowledge. I had to return the contract with the key so that they knew what the key went to. According to my credit card company, they say that it was in the contract.I will never do business with Budget again.

I reserved a rental car and called ahead to make sure that I didn’t need a credit card when I pick up the rental. The lady on the phone stated that they can do it and place a hold on the debit card. So I show up to pick up my vehicle and wait in line for 30 minutes for them to tell me I needed a credit card. So if you picking up at this location make sure you have a credit card or just pick up at a location that isn’t at an airport.

Did not have the vehicle I reserved. Ended up having to cancel the reservation because they only had economy/compact vehicles. Don't waste your time here.

Truly the worst rental experience we've ever had. Did not have the vehicle that was said to have online. Had to get a smaller vehicle and on top of that. The vehicle was scratched and scuffed all over. Inside was stained and smelled like cigarettes and wet dog. Had to clean and shampoo the entire vehicle so we wouldn't gag from the horrible smell during our trip. Do not recommend renting from this company.

I booked my reservation at Budget car rental 48 hours prior to the date of my arrival at Bakersfield Airport. I booked midsize SUV due to my child. However, upon checking at the front desk. In the airport, the attendant said coldly , we don’t have the vehicle you booked and there will be a long wait of 4 hours for Toyota Corolla. After traveling for hours from Texas that was unacceptable to me but I have to arrange other local rental on Saturday. Budget car rental, zero customer service, no compassion and total disrespect to thier customers. I learned my lesson, I will never rent a vehicle from this company. Think twice before booking with Buget at Bakersfield airport.

***HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE***We waited nearly 2 hours for our reserved car. We were pre-checked & pre-paid. We arrived and were given a number. With nothing else or no explanation that we were about to wait and wait and wait. "Your car is here but the keys are" was an answer we finally got. This long wait is very unexpected and disappointing for a small and sleepy airport like this.

This was the worst experience ever. I got a flat tire within 24 hours of pickup because of a defective tire. It took 3 hours to get roadside assistance and 2 days for repair. A week and a half later, the battery died -- for no good reason, no lights were left on. I returned the car immediately, was charged the full price (even though I returned the car a day and a half ahead of schedule). I was charged extra for not having filled the tank when I didn't trust turning the car off to get gas, and I still have to jump through hoops to get reimbursed for the new tire I had to order to replace the defective one. There is no coordination between the Budget office at the Bakersfield airport (they never answer the phone) and roadside assistance who has no idea of the area. I will never rent from Budget again, even though I've been a faithful customer for more than 10 years. Awful service!

Dirty gross car that was supposed to be an SUV. Paid way too much for this vehicle. Greatly effected our trip in a bad way. I do not recommend budget. I paid more for a bigger suv and got a midsized and not a full tank of gas. Not right.Then when I got home from the trip, they emailed me a free upgrade for me next trip!! NO WAY!! Should have offered that in the first place. Unbelievable!

Budget was thrilled I turned my car in early because they had plenty of reservations but not enough cars, yet they charged me double because I had to turn my car in early due to traveling to another place for work. Plus I was driving a Chevrolet Spark, the most economy car they had and they charged double the price. Budget is not good for my Budget.

50 minute wait in line, 1 person working the counter. He was super friendly though. They were completely out of cars, but he gave us a truck upgrade for free.
