Exceptional service from this local establishment! Their in-depth understanding of Jeep vehicles is truly impressive, and their commitment to honesty is commendable. The staff provided detailed explanations of the installed items, showcasing their expertise. I will return for additional Jeep upgrades. Highly recommended!

Great and knowledgeable off road shop. One of the few that do more than just bolt on stuff. Highly recommend this family owned and operated business.

American Off Road was recommended to me by a friend/co-worker years ago. I finally had a reason to go in and have some work done to a recently purchased 2005 Dodge 2500 4x4 Cummins. I discussed with Coy what I was looking to do and he went to work. He ran into some supply issues, but was able to work through them and kept me informed along the way. I took the truck in and had the parts installed (3" leveling springs, shocks and side steps). I couldn't be happier with the results/look. Additionally, when I picked the truck up, the service technician informed me of some other maintenance issues that will need repair soon. Overall, it was a very good experience and the staff were friendly and informative.

Took my Jeep there they replaced my gearbox tire rod, etc. They failed to perform a wheel alignment which cost me more money. My warranty was voided as well due to the poor work these guys performed. Not honest people I would not recommend this shop. All of my Jeep families who are in Bakersfield avoid this shop.……..

Asked to write review by Dads Gone Live (Jacob) on YouTube. Best thing ever since sliced bread. Having never been to California in my life. I think your business is the best that has ever existed. Keep up the good work. If you ever make it to Tennessee, I will look you up.

I hate to leave a bad review, I really like these people. It's a family business they have done good things. Sadly They made giant mistakes that caused me so much heartbreak. Incorrect tire pressure for my M.T. 35 inch all terrain it caused un even wear. Installed a bracket with the spacers on backwards, that damaged the paint. kept all my old parts so now i have to buy new. Didn't know what transmission was in my jk and caused all kinds of trouble. Sold me a computer but didn't do the programming correctly. Gave me bad information about gearing. I told them what was up, then I called gave them a chance to make it right. They would but for more money.I'll say it again these are good people, the kind of folks you want to invite to a BBQ. For someone like me that doesn't know anything about the off-road world and on my first jeep, it cost me many nights sleep. I'm still fixing stuff.

We have a 2021 Rubicon, we tow behind our motorhome. They have been very friendly, informative, and helpful with getting us prepared to use it as our toad. They also have a small 4 x 4 club to go wheeling with. Everybody is very friendly inside the shop. Will definitely keep coming back.

Bought front and rear gears from Yukon vendor in Las Vegas, NV September 2022, Have had to had rear gears replaced 3 times in less than a year or a little over. The first time was less than 6 months because the limited slip and gears broke. When the gears came apart it caused more damage to the bearings, seals, and other parts in the rear end. Never had any other company that did not cover parts and labor. It ended up costing me almost $1000 for the damage their product caused. Paid for a lifetime warranty and was told after damage, a lifetime warranty is only valid on the first set. Less than 5 months later, the same product failed and cost me another $1000 for parts and labor. Worst company I've ever dealt with. So far, it has cost me over $5000. I will be going with another company. The vendor tried to say it i was my fault. I do not beat on my vehicle. The Jeep was not put into 4-wheel drive since the day I had the gears put in. They do not warranty their labor unless they think they did something wrong. In turn, they are saying they will never be wrong.

These guys are amazing as today Dad’s Gone Live was on his way to buy food for the homeless and he had a brake line break and they gave him an excellent deal on the brake line, and also let him borrow their tools to fix it! They also gave him a free T-shirt because he had brake fluid all over his shirt! Thank you guys, so much as Jacob is such an inspiration to us all!

Bring your Jeep or off road vehicle here and you won’t be disappointed by the service or communication from the owners. I have had them fit me into their schedule at last minute for mounting new tires on beadlocks, when they were already busy. They have installed new gears and kept me updated on the work. I am a happy customer and highly recommend this family owned business.

Man, did they see me coming. I'm currently on disability from work awaiting a hip replacement. Uhaul was originally going to hook up my lift to a 12 volt source and ground for $85, but they kept delaying me for hours while waiting. I called the boss at American from a referral, and she said they could fit me in sooner. They charged me $286 to hook up a 12v power wire and ground for my power chair lift for a job that should have taken 20 minutes. Hell, I could have had a whole new hitch installed for that. There was available power in the back of my pickup bed 2 feet away from my hitch and lift harness, yet they chose to run a new wire all the way from the battery to the back of my truck. When I went to pick it up, the tech said it took him an hour. They billed me for almost 2 hours at $150 an hour. To top it off, they finished at the same time Uhaul was supposed to. She said, "We aren't a large corporation and bill for our time." She said, "Once you are an American Off-road customer, you a customer you are one for life and they back up their work." Fat chance that I'm going back or anybody else I know. Shame on me for not waiting Uhaul out.

I suggest to NOT use this place of business. They checked the installation of Ben's lift kit & did the alignment. A short time later bolts fell off letting the shock (spring) fall off. They blamed it on his dad saying he installed it wrong, even though they had already checked & cleared it before this happened. We took it back they charged us to fix it. Yesterday the bolt to the upper control arm fell out while my son was driving. We had it towed home. Ben's dad talked to them today & they refuse to make it right without paying AGAIN to fix the same thing for the 3rd time, not that I would trust them as this would be the 3rd time in approx 6 months. If yelp would let me give 0 stars, I would. We will definitely be taking our business elsewhere. Completely unimpressed with their business & refusal to stand behind their own work. Shady!
