I blew the gasket on my 2000 Honda CR-V, so I got the head off and brought it here. They took it in, cleaned it, tested it for compression, replaced a burnt valve, and machined it flat. All that for a very reasonable price. This is my go to machine shop now.

I built this engine myself but I wanted to thank Russ at Steve machine shop for doing all the machine work. Thank you again Russ for all the project you have helped me accomplish.

I love this place! I use them quite frequently for machining on personal and customer engines. I've never had a problem with their work, customer service has always been up to par, and turn around time is usually pretty quick as well. I hear horror stories about machine shops that take months to do basic tasks and that has never been the case with Steve's. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

Russ at steves is the man to go to. Russ has built multiple engines for me ranging from stock rebuilds to high performance small blocks. He is extremely knowledgeable with what needs to be done for a proper setup and never once have I been oversold or has he tried to upsell me on something that was not necessary. His pricing is the best that I have seen and he is great with communication and keeping me in the loop through the build process. Russ has never left me hanging and is always there to answer my questions and gets his jobs done quickly. Highly suggest russ and steves machine shop.

I just couldn't stop thinking about the time I brought my head too get freshen up replaced all valve guides , and seals, resurface, hot tank , 3 angle valve job I just had too get this out of my head I received my head back and as I was putting the motor back together on the first start up oil and coolant would instantly mixed so I thought I was doing something wrong because I had trust in that short so I purchased new head gasket and brand new oem fluids, again same thing happened with new head gasket, bought a long block from a jdm shop because like I said I had trust in their work, installed new bottom block and still oil an coolant would instantly mixed after many oem fluids wasted I finally decided too take the head back for the too pressure test and inspect and as they did they said the block had a crack, when I had this head before never wore it do that It was perfectly fine until I brought it here before they sent it out too me they should have pressure tested it but I believe they didn't. As I got the head back he told me we'll just call it even..... Just really disappointed. Will definitely not do business here again.....

I went in and told Steve the problem I was having with my dune buggy and asked how much it would cost for them to take a look at it. He told me they don’t do estimates, so that I can fix it at home or take it somewhere else. I said I understand that, but I’m not asking you to look at it for free, I just want to know how much it would cost me for you to take a look at it before doing any work so that I know if I can afford it. He said they don’t do estimates, go somewhere else and walked away. Apparently I’m suppose to give them my car and pay whatever they say it costed once they fixed it.

I contacted this machine shop after being referred by a friend. I spoke to Russ in person about my goals with the car when I dropped my block off, and we were both on the same page about what I was going to do with the car. My original short block I dropped off ended up having a crack, so I sourced another good short block to have them machine. Fast forward a few weeks after getting parts ordered, coated, and everything assembled, I pick up the short block and head. The shop that does my tuning installs the motor and then the break in process begins. I did roughly the first oil change at around 500 miles, and saw metal on the magnetic drain plug. I contacted the shop that installed the motor and dropped the car off with them. They did multiple with the car idling between oil changes to see if they could get the metal shavings to clean up but they never did after 3-4 oil changes. I had them pull the long block and took it to another machine shop for a second opinion and what was found was horrifying. They had used so much gasket sealer when assembling my short block that it was in the oil ports and oil pick up. I contacted Russ after the other machine shop sent me pictures of what they had found and he said he could do nothing for me since I didn’t bring it to him. Stay far away from this shop and they clearly do not know what they’re doing. This is on a 4G63 from a Mitsubishi Evo IX with only 500-600 miles on the engine.Edit (6/29/2020): I keep uploading pictures but they keep getting taken down.
