Affordable (for Catalina), high quality rooms, and excellent service. What more could I ask for?

Had the most pleasant stay the first weekend of this year, at the Seacrest Inn. And despite having to stay an extra night, due to canceled boat travel back to the mainland, I took advantage to meader and explore since one can't control Mother Nature. I had my room booked for almost a year (3/29/2023), this after, securing my Avalon 50 entry on 3/05/23, which put my mind at ease. I guess you can say I don't like to stress or feel rushed to find a place when it comes to destination races. Upon arrival, I was greeted and shown my room. Everything was exactly as described by others and quite comfortable. The only thing I would change, at least for the dolphin room, is to replace the mini fridge as it freezes everything you put into it. A mini fridge w/out freezer would be ideal to avoid the mishaps. 10/10, and despite the mini fridge, I'd stay here again. I really enjoyed my stay and and it was comfortable.

The Sandcastle house at the Seacrest Inn is an understated gem. Perfect for 6 with a king bed, two twin beds (king and twins super comfy!), and a sofa bed in the living room (didn’t use but also likely amazing). TVs in every room currently if you are the type to stay inside or want something to watch at night. Good WiFi, full kitchen, nice bathroom with a warm shower, heating and AC in the bedrooms. The house (and main hotel) is close to everything when you get off the ferry or are venturing around. But the two best parts: roof top deck on the main hotel is really nice both during the day and in the evening, and Michael the hotel manager who was super nice and friendly.Loved our stay, would gladly stay again. Don’t hesitate to book if available.

I had a wonderful stay at the Seacrest Inn. Michael and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and helped make my visit to Catalina a wonderful experience. I had a dog traveling with me and was very happy with the room and appreciated having a private entry/exit for quick walks.Having never been to Catalina before, it was fun to be right in the downtown area with easy access to everything. I would definitely stay at Seacrest again and would strongly recommend it to anyone traveling with a dog. I have included a photo from the rooftop deck; make sure you take a few minutes to enjoy it if you stay there. Thank you Seacrest Inn for helping to make my visit a good one!

I stayed here for the Avalon 50 Mile Ultramarathon. Our room was ready shortly after we stepped off the ferry. We stayed in the Mermaid room. The room was clean and comfortable. It was the perfect size for two. Michael was friendly and even gave us restaurant suggestions. He also stored our luggage on our final day before we boarded the ferry. Great place!

Our stay at the Seacrest inn was great! We arrived early (10am) but check in wasn't up until 4pm, previous to arriving they advised us we might be able to check in early if the room was available and it was! the walk from the ferry was only a 5 minute walk (no walk up a hill either) which was super convenient since we had our luggage's. We stayed in the wicker roses room, it was small but perfect for a getaway for a couple. The room has a heater/AC unit, iron/ironing board, microwave, mini fridge, TV/cable, hair blow dryer and an extra pillow and blanket. The place was CLEAN upon arrival, It even smelled clean when we first walked in. Be advised it's not exactly in a quiet area but we didn't mind as it does tend to quiet down in the night time. The roof has a deck that has chairs, tables & a BBQ/ grilling area, again it looked clean up there as well Everything is within a mile radius walk from the Inn, it took us maybe 20 min tops to get places that weren't exactly close to our stay. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely come back. BTW : these pictures were taken right before check out time so the place looks a bit messy :)

Love staying at the Seacrest, especially at The Sumner Cottage. Having a porch and watching the world go by!

I had taken an extra guest and didn’t think to call ahead. Upon my arrival, Michael advised me to call ahead next time because he might not have had any room left. He was kind enough to accommodate our special last minute request which saved us a big headache.Aside from the staff’s courtesy and hospitality being outstanding, the rooms were sparkle clean and everything was in working order. The hotel is conveniently located right by the Catalina express landing and only a short walking distance from the main boardwalk.Overall, one of the best places to stay at in Catalina.

We checked in for a night and it's a lovely little place. Service is wonderful and the location was great for us because it wasn't right up next to everything but it's still close enough to get to anything you need, though you can walk to almost anything in Avalon from anywhere within 20 minutes or less anyway. There's a rooftop with barbecue grills guests can use. The AC units are a little janky but the overall room temp was comfortable and the bed was comfy. I actually liked that there was no carpet, too. One other note is that there's no elevator or anything (that I know of), so you'll need to take the stairs or try a different hotel if you need more accessibility.

Had an excellent experinece at the Seacrest Inn. Innkeeper Michael was generous with his time, highly informative of the area and kindly permitted us to keep our luggage upon check-out in his office, prior to boat boarding. He was a perfect host. Our room, "The Garden Room", had it's own private entrance and small patio to enjoy my morning coffee. A GROOVY spa tub for two to relax in, or hells bells, for one! Good shower as well. When I travel, I particulary enjoy visiting areas that most tourists have no interest in. Two places I took hikes to from the Seacrest Inn: (1) The Pet Cemetery - a grassroots type pet cemetery - super serene and spiritual and far away from all the insanity of the Crescent Street boardwalk - which DOES have some worthy shops to spend your dollars. (2) The Bird Farm/Aviary that was ONCE a super draw for tourists, long since shut down but most of the structure, as I recalled, remains. Now a pre-school so I was unable to enter the grounds but I took plenty of photos as, you can bank on it, there will come a time this area will be devoid of the memories so many of us remember. A must see for those of us that appreciate decaying structures. I recommend waking early and going to Crescent Street for a morning stroll, prior to the influx of tourists. Just me. Thank you again to host Michael and hope to return - SOON.

This is a historic little hotel based perfectly in downtown Avalon literally a few blocks from the pier so no taxi service or trudging up a hill required. The rooms have everything you need, fridge, coffee maker, blowdryer and the MOST COMFORTABLE beds you've ever been in! In fact this is our SECOND stay there. The last time we were in the mermaid room (pet friendly). This time we'd been scheduled for the Mermaid but when the Manager, Michael, found out I was doing the Transcatalina Trail and I'd be ending here he upgraded me to a pet friendly room with a jacuzzi tub! I was in that thing for an hour. It was HEAVENLY. Watching the sunset from their rooftop deck MAGICAL. The staff make this place not a hotel but your home away from home. In FACT I met a family doing the trail at the same time as me. I asked where they'd stayed the first night and it was the Seacrest too! We were both saying how AWESOME the place was and how much we loved the vibe and deck. This is not a glamorous place but it is the GREATEST place you can stay which doesn't break the bank but is clean, personable, beautiful views and the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Yes, I've done 5 stars. I would take Seacrest any day. Afterall, you're in Avalon- go outside! Go dive, go for a hike, go experience the island. The Seacrest is as much an experience of the island as the garibaldi are.
