Nice Hotel. Reasonably priced. Had a standard room with ocean view. It's on the smaller size but well equipped. There are a lot of little touches and amenities you will find in a boutique hotel. It reminds me of European hotels. The balcony is small, but they have a rooftop terrace that is really nice and well equipped with cushions and seating if you want to spend time just looking at the view which is amazing from there. Servicing a continental breakfast was a nice touch that few hotels offer here. We took our breakfast to the rooftop terrace and had a lovely time. All the employees we encountered were very nice and accommodating if we had a question or request. I will stay there again and would recommend.

Rooms: Bedroom is decent size, bathroom is small.Has all the basic amenities: free wifi, microwave, coffee maker (k-cups, sugar, no creamer though), refrigerator, and toiletries.Has some nice bonuses too: bathrobes, free water, wine (surcharge), a shelf next to the toilet (such a simple thing that I appreciated.Nearby activities: Just past the main strip of downtown Avalon, nicely between the strip and the Casino.Walkability: Bit far of a walk from the Catalina Express pier, and up a decently sized hill.Food & drinks: Free breakfast! Free coffee, water, cookies, and apples downstairs at all times! Free water in the rooms. Love it.Noteworthy details: The rooftop deck has a beautiful view of the ocean and city, and good furniture. Was not crowded with guests (I came in December though). Definitely a good way to spend the night.

Recommend booking an ocean view ahead of time. The other rooms are fine too. Breakfast is nothing special. Great service from hotel staff.

Aurora Hotel: Where Catalina Dreams Come True. Nestled on the picturesque Catalina Island, the Aurora Hotel is a gem that captures the essence of tranquility and charm. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful stay. The rooms at the Aurora Hotel are not just accommodations; they are serene havens designed for comfort and relaxation. Clean, well-appointed, and adorned with tasteful decor, my room provided a perfect retreat after a day of exploring the island. What truly sets this hotel apart is its breathtaking ocean views. Waking up to the sight of crystal-clear waters and the calming sounds of waves crashing was a rejuvenating experience. The hotel's prime location allows for easy access to Catalina's attractions while providing a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle. At the Aurora Hotel, the experience goes beyond breathtaking views and serene ambiance - they also spoil guests with a delightful touch of hospitality: a complimentary breakfast. Start your day with a variety of fresh and savory options, adding an extra lalready exceptional retreat. The rooftop deck proved to be a highlight, offering a panoramic vista of the island and a perfect spot to unwind. I enjoyed sipping my morning coffee while taking in the breathtaking sunrise or winding down with a glass of wine as the sun dipped below the horizon. The staff deserves accolades for their exceptional hospitality. Friendly, attentive, and eager to assist, they went above and beyond to ensure a seamless and enjoyable stay. Whether offering local ror addressing requests, their commitment to guest satisfaction was evident. In summary, the Aurora Hotel is a hidden gem on Catalina Island, offering a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and stunning views. For those seeking a tranquil escape with a touch of luxury, this hotel provides an ideal retreat that enhances the Catalina experience.

This is a very nice hotel and the front desk representatives are very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a standard room for our 3 night trip to the island. I must say that the standard room is quite small but has a lot of space to store your luggage. The bathroom is extremely small even for a mid size person like me. There is hardly any leg space between you and the door when you sit on the toilet. The shower is so small that for me to go elbow to elbow and not touch the shower walls I have to be standing diagonally. Finally the bathroom sink is a kiddy sink more like the sinks you find in the interior rooms of cruise ships. So if you are booking a standard room, please be aware of the space.

This place is a dump and the rooms would only be spacious for a doll. In order to even get to it, you'll have to hike up Mount Everest. Once you finally get there, you'll go to your shed of a room that is so claustrophobic that it's hard to breathe. There is absolutely nothing on their site that makes it clear that this hotel is not handy accessible. We ended up having to leave to go to another hotel. They still charged us the full price for staying there one of the five days. They took money from other people for the room and managed to get double the money for the broom closet. They then fought the charge with our bank. They managed to get $800 a night for the smallest most unlivable room I have ever seen. Greed, pure greed. Don't stay at this hotel you will be extremely disappointed. There was no hot water in the shower and the "balcony" is a fake one that you have just enough room to stand on (if you are underweight.)

Wife and I were there for our 20th anniversary. Had the balcony room 313. Pretty darn small, but pretty nice and the balcony had chairs and a table that were nice to sit and eat breakfast.Really liked the patio and no one was ever there. Bit of a hike up the hill, but only 5 to 10 min walk from the bottom at Naughty Fox.Breakfast as decent, better than a lot of places. No elevator

We had a great stay at the Aurora. The front desk host, Parker, was excellent and exhibited true hospitality. The rooftop deck is an amazing place to hang out and enjoy the view! The room was clean and comfy, a bit on the small side, but well-appointed. A family friendly hotel but please, if you bring small kids, do not sprawl out in the middle of the rooftop deck, blocking the walkway, and try not to let them run up and down the halls at 6am. Guests need to respect each other. Thank you.Walkability: Very close to everything in Avalon.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Parker was above and beyond. We got off our very early boat and walked over to the hotel at 7:30 am with the hopes to just drop off our luggage while we cruised around the island until check in. Parker immediately told us if we gave him five minutes, he could have a room ready. I couldn't believe it! He also offered us the continental breakfast while we waited! They had coffee, tea and fresh lemon cucumber in the lobby 24/7. We had a room on the third floor. The room is cozy and perfect. Robes are hanging with a sign that say we can contact the front desk if we'd like to take them home, chocolates are on the bed, wine is offered in the room, complimentary water bottles are already in the fridge, we get the movie channels, and every amenity you could think of is in the bathroom. On the third floor there is an outdoor deck with tons of seating options and a gorgeous view of the water. We spent a lot of time lounging out there. You are also able to take a tray with your breakfast out to this area. We felt so spoiled. The location is up a small hill, so you could either request a taxi or get your steps in. It is a great location to the main streets. On our last day, we checked out right at 11. Parker offered to hang on to all of our luggage. He also offered us to take hotel beach towels so we didn't have to travel with dirty ones. AND he offered to put ice in our cooler we had brought with us to prepare for the hot day. We plan to make all of our future bookings at the Aurora. Thank you for the incredible hospitality and the perfect stay for our trip!

Nicely appointed rooms but the view from the roof is the reason to pick this place.
