The guys at Sierra Outdoor Center are awesome! Friendly as can be and full of knowledge. I was overwhelmed with the sheer number of boats they had when I first visited last summer. I plan on heading back at the end of this month (June 2024) and actually renting some gear this time. This southeastern boater is gonna try to get some California action and I know exactly where I'm going for my whitewater fix this year... the Sierra Outdoor Center of course!

Ran in here for a pair of thermals and I did not realize that this place has everything you can think off and they are extremely helpful. Don’t get discouraged about the aesthetics of the place upon arrival. Go in through the back and they’ll have everything you’ll need?

All the reviews are correct.That's what makes this place cool.Boaters and skiers selling stuff to boaters and skiers.The prices are very fair for new gear. Selection is good. There are deals to be found. And it is hard to find used rafting equipment, so we can all be thankful someone has some available.If you get the chance to talk to Guy you will learn something. Nothing flashy. Not REI. But my experience was great this week.

Great prices, absolutely the most knowledgeable customer service! Alex helped me get the gear I needed and gave me advice on where to go for the best experience, and he was right! We had the most fun I’ve experienced in a long time! Love this place❤️

Enter through the parking lot back entrance where it says Kayak Rental, because the street-facing door is closed as of Feb 2023. Great place for lots of different gear, nice guys and very reasonable prices!

Alex, Ben & Lev are awesome! Super friendly & knowledgeable folks. And they have best rental price all the way from the SFBA to Tahoe. I'd highly recommend checking them out on your way to the slopes in Tahoe/Truckee ⛷?

Great place to come and get anything you need for outdoor adventures. Kayaking, rafting, climbing, camping, skiing, wake boarding, and fishing. Rental boats, S.U.P., kayaks ski and board equipment. Interesting place and worth the visit.
