Paws & Claws Grooming
2560 Grass Valley Hwy, AuburnSue is so amazing with my German Shepard. Don't let those one star reviews fool you. Dogs are HARD to handle when they get bathed. There is no easy way to groom a dog. Especially if they do not like to be groomed and that's most dogs. Dogs need discipline and proper repercussion just like people. Dogs do jump around, bite and scratch... even the most well-behaved ones do it. I have a $30,000 ADA working dog, and she is the worst to get groomed but a gem in every other situation handed to her (as she has been trained to be). But Sue prevails and is so helpful. Sue allows me be right there with my dog and help her with the grooming and comfort of my dog. As stated above, ignore the one star reviews Sue is an amazing and knowledgeable lady in the dog grooming and care department.

Companion Veterinary Clinic
105 Auburn Folsom Rd, AuburnI am absolutely thrilled to share my exceptional experience with Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Karen Klentox at Companion Veterinary Clinic in Auburn. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had discovered a gem of a practice!
Despite their bustling schedule, the team went above and beyond to accommodate my dog's needs, even allowing for a last-minute drop-off, which I deeply appreciated. I was initially hesitant to leave my dobie Khyber, who is my everything, but then Dr. Sanchez surprised me by coming outside to introduce herself. Her warm demeanor immediately put me at ease.
Dr. Sanchez took the time to thoroughly discuss my dog's issues, treatment options, and medication suggestions. She recommended an incredible healing spray that works wonders for wounds and skin irritations—truly magical! She explained probiotics in detail and provided invaluable insights on the best ways to administer his medications and ointments. It was clear that even amidst the morning rush, she was dedicated to ensuring I fully understood everything for my dog's best outcome.
The technicians and staff at Companion Veterinary Clinic matched the high standard set by the veterinarians. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and organized, making me feel right at home. Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Klentox, in particular, were a breath of fresh air; their passion for their work and genuine care for both pets and their owners shone through in every interaction, giving me confidence in the care my pet was receiving.
I wholeheartedly recommend Companion Veterinary Clinic to anyone seeking compassionate, exceptional veterinary care for their beloved pets. They genuinely care, and it shows! Thank you, Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Klentox team, for going the extra mile to provide outstanding service!

Animal Clinic At Lake of the Pines, Inc.
10868 Combie Rd # 130, AuburnWe rescued a purebred 7-year-old dog from a shelter in Oregon last July that came with hidden health problems including heartworms, inflamed bowels, and heart arrhythmia. Only the heartworms were revealed upon the dog's initial wellness checkup. Normally, that's all one might expect to be noticed in such a visit. So the three-month process recommended by the American Heartworm Association to eradicate the heartworms began with a 30-day course of the antibiotic Doxycycline. However, after 3-weeks the dog became critically ill. His liver began failing and Dr. Grimes suggested IV treatments at an emergency pet clinic, which are VERY expensive. We opted for home treatments of several supplements and meds; a much less expensive alternative. Our guy began to respond very positively and a few weeks later he was MUCH better. Then just before we (Dr. Grimes and us) were planning the next phase of the heartworm eradication, that would actually kill the worms, our dog took a downturn within a couple of hours that day. He collapsed on our floor and we had to carry all 60 pounds of him to the car. We rushed him to the clinic and the staff came out to the car and helped carry him directly into treatment. Dr. Hardy and ALL of the assistants immediately began triage, running tests, and providing every possible treatment to save his life. We were VERY gratified and appreciative of their amazing all-out efforts. It was strongly recommended we take him to an emergency pet clinic and the staff set us up with one of them. All the needed test results were transmitted directly to the emergency clinic, so when we arrived the staff there were able to rush into action to help our guy. The heart arrhythmia problem was revealed and the inflamed bowels were confirmed. Unfortunately, the prognosis was pretty poor, and we realized it was time to put our guy out of his misery. Sadly he was euthanized at that point, and we took him home to permanently rest on our rural property in Nevada County under a transplanted tree. All in all, we found the Animal Clinic at Lake of the Pines to be a great resource for pet healthcare. We can't say enough good about the service and staff there. Dr. Grimes gave us a call the day after our ordeal, giving us her heartfelt condolences. When we get another pet, we will definitely return for our new pets healthcare.

Pet Sitting & Training
K9 Conditioning LLC
Neils Rd, AuburnExceptional! I can't think of a more fitting word to express our entire experience with K9 Conditioning. We did the 4 week board and train with our 4 month old Buckley a Bermise Mountain Dog you will see in some of their latest pics. The dog we got back compared to the crazy puppy we dropped off is night and day. Steph, the head trainer is such an amazing person to work with. I am not exaggerating when I say he sent, updates, photos, videos, links to info, or some kind of information about how things were going almost every day. When my wife and I met with him to do the included one on one training, (mostly for us at that point), he was so patient with us and our dog. We honestly can't wait to use what he's taught us to help Buckley remain as calm, cool, and amazing as we now know he can be. We will be bringing every dog we end up having to K9C and could not be more pleased.

Ponderosa Cider Co
102 Gum Lane Unit B, AuburnWe rented Ponderosa Cider Company for a 4th of July event, the evening before our wedding. The owners were very helpful when we were in the planning stages. We really did not have to do much the day of as the staff was super helpful in setting up and working to keep everyone cool with misters and a hose for the kids. We had about 80 people and it was an absolute success. Not only was the cider delicious the Thai food truck we hired was great as well. All of the children and adults had a wonderful time. We were even able to see the fireworks from the venue. If you are looking for a relaxed, professional and private venue, this is the place!

Burger & Cream
403 Grass Valley Hwy, AuburnReally great burgers, fries, and floats. They use fresh ingredients and have gluten-free buns. The juicy hamburgers don't go well with the gf bun. My recommendation would be to toast it. I find any gf bread/bun holds together better when toasted. Very reasonable prices for burgers in comparison with the chains and much better.

Knee Deep Brewing Company
13395 New Airport Rd H, AuburnWent with the dogs on Labor Day. The 'hot dog guy' was there which was fun having a really good hot dog lunch. The beers are really good all around - different IPA styles to choose from - hazy citrus to tropical to the drier styles. They now brew my favorite...Monkey Knife Fight which was my favorite here at Highwater in Lodi. Sooo many choices I did not even get to the other styles - next time for sure. All in all a great afternoon chilling on the patio

The Baker and the Cakemaker, inc.
1102 Lincoln Way, AuburnAfter making a random and unexpected drive to Auburn (which is the county seat of Placer County), I decided to check out one of their most well-known bakeries/coffeeshops, "The Baker and the Cakemaker". Located directly on Lincoln Way and tucked in between of High St. and State Highway 49 in the heart of downtown Auburn, this place has been serving up delicious baked goods and coffee beverages dating back to 2019. Hours of operation are Tue-Fri from 6am-4pm, Sat from 7am-4pm, and closed Sun/Mon. I came here during the afternoon of Saturday 9/21/2024 at around 2:30pm as I was on the hunt for an iced coffee drink with a muffin. Since this was well after the morning rush, it wasn't that busy at all. As far as the interior layout/setup, everything is laid out very well complete with ample seating and a cozy atmosphere. They offer several fresh loaves of bread as well as many of the popular fresh baked goods; muffins, croissants, cakes, and cookies. They even offer popular breakfast/lunch options including toasts, sandwiches, and salads. I ended up ordering one of their gluten-free blueberry muffins complete with an iced vanilla latte. Total price for everything was around $8 + tax. I then proceeded to their outdoor patio area and all I have to say is that this is one of the more peaceful/tranquil places to relax and chill no matter what time of day it is. The muffin was absolutely delicious as you wouldn't have the slightest hint that it was gluten-free. The latte was also above average but just a little too watered-down as I wasn't able to taste a lot of the espresso. No big deal as it was still served in a large glass cup. All in all, "The Baker and the Cakemaker" is one of the better family owned-and-operated businesses in Auburn as it offers more of that relaxed vibe that you don't find in nearby Roseville or Rocklin. With competitive prices, respectable hours, above average customer service, and delicious fresh food, I am giving them four stars.

Placer County Animal Services Center
11232 B Ave, AuburnI think this facility is a good place for stray or lost animals. It's sad to see them there as they look like great pets to adopt. I just wished I had more room to adopt some of the dogs there, but I am currently dealing with two at the moment. Maybe later this year because the oldest dog is circling the drain.
