Back in... 2019 I think? I had a massive oil leak from a cam cover on my 08 Impreza, while driving to go hike in the area. Waited 4 hours for the tow truck AAA sent me. It was a hell of a time. But I left the car at Old Town Auto, with a note on my keys, and he took care of me. Can't remember the owner's name for the life of me, but thank you sir!Honest, helpful, straightforward service.Found the business card while going through some boxes today and had to express my appreciation.

Fred was honest, kind, and helpful in an emergency. He stayed after his usual business hours on a weekend to help me out, charged me a very fair price, and when he did not have the part needed, drove across town to get it so I could get on my way ASAP. I would recommend him to anyone.

I took my car here to get my driver side window looked at. I paid him $160 to remove the door panel and glue ONE plastic tab to the window (the window regulator) and put it back in. Two hours of labor for something that should've taken 20 minutes. 3 weeks later, window is broken again and he's telling me he "doesn't warranty any electrical especially glass stuff, that has been repaired from broken use". DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE.

Fred has always been honest and upfront with me on my car repairs. When other shops try to give you appointments 2 or 3 weeks out Fred will try and get you ASAP. He always tries to locate affordable parts and keep labor costs down. He will follow-up with all repairs and does not hesitate to make additional repairs for warranty parts at no cost. I would recommend Fred to anybody. Good local shop for the community.Services: Electrical

Called to see if he could help me with a misfiring spark plug. He laughed, said good luck, and hung up. Rude and unprofessionalEdit in reponse to owners respinse: never got a quote. I wasn't upset, I was just trying to get a quote. You also never said you dont work on cadillacs. Now you're both rude and dishonest. Great qualities in a mechanic

Navy vet owner screaming angrily in front of my 4 year old daughter scaring her over a simple misunderstanding. I needed my driveshaft repaired in an emergency since i was 10 hrs from home. The driveline shop right next door was nice enough to help me out on short notice. I didn't realize they were separate businesses. I thought it was all the same driveline shop. I had to remove my own driveshaft for the driveline shop. Fred the owner of Old Town Auto Repair arrived in his Jeep to reopen his shop. Immediately yelled telling me to move my vehicle or it would be towed. I told him i would move it immediately. My tools and everything was on the ground. Luckily it was a 4x4 so i could still move it. I went to tell the driveshaft shop that their neighbor was causing a huge scene and to help calm him down. Before i could even reach the driveline shop Fred continued yelling very loud to not walk away from him and "move it right f$@#ing now!" Of course i yelled back and told him my 4 year old girl was present to stop making a scene that i would move it immediately. He apologized to the driveline shop owner saying he just had a bad day but refused to apologize to me. He even continued yelling for me to turn off my loud vehicle even though it was 90 degrees outside and the AC was keeping my family cool while we waited. I refused to turn it off and moved everything within 3 mins of him asking. After moving he continued to try to cause problems making smart remarks and wouldn't leave us alone after asking him to stop. He only quit after i told him he wss a horrible navy roll model for my daughter and that i was going to call the cops. Little does he know i caught it all on dashcam with sound. I told him I would be leaving him a bad buisness review over his actions. He said go ahead! I asked him to apologize and he refused so he deserves a bad review from us.

Called for a Quote on a coolant flush for a BMW, his response was to do it myself, isn't that why Im calling?, so I don't have to do it myself , especially on a BMW, he was not professional. Its a very simple $100-$200 job easy money that he lost out on.

Fred is the best. My Toyota needed a part available only from a dealer for about $600. Fred said "no way" and managed to recondition the part and I'm out the door for $160. A dealer would have charged $200 for labor plus $600 for the part. Fred saved me at least $460. Also, Fred totally rebuilt the drive train on my 65 Mustang Convertible--the one in the photo above. The car runs great and all for a reasonable price.

When I had a situation with my car last night, baby in tow and needing to get home to Chico, Fred waited for me to get to his shop and gave me an honest assessment of the problems. He showed me what was going on a d helped prepare me to make the drive home. Would definitely recommend, it's hard to find an honest mechanic who cares about people.
