Stay away from this shop! Not honest. Tells lies about how the works going on your car. Tells you one thing. Then gives you another excuse why it's not done!! Not licensed with the BAR. Something just not right with his work! Terrible mechanic. Won't return emails!!

Nightmare! Avoid this shop! Don’t let this happen to you. Look up Gen V Automotive on the BBB website. I wish I would have. He recently changed the business name. His 5 star reviews have to be his friends and family. What an absolute nightmare I’ve had to deal with here. He quoted me one thing and then claimed and charged to do another. He tried to claim an employee must have missed the work or did it incorrectly. This guy is filled with lies. New Optima battery damaged from not charging while the car sat at his shop for over half a year. My car died a mile from his shop. I had to have a friend come and jump the battery. Bruce left me stranded on the side of the road 2 miles from his shop when the transmission went out just after the battery required a jump. He told me he was too busy to help me while I sat on the side of the road. I guess I’ll pay for the tow truck. Thanks Kalifornia Speed Shop. Bruce takes zero responsibility for any of his work. Bruce damaged a brand new torque converter while installing which caused the transmission to fail (I have documentation from JR Transmission that he used a “grinder” to the torque converter). Brian @ Circle D confirmed no abrasive materials should be used on the converter to allow fitment.. Bruce quoted me the CAPITALIZED items and then charged me for the (follow up items).- RELOCATION OF FUEL LINE AWAY FROM EXHAUST. (Charged me for fuel system repair? Zero description on his invoice of parts and labor. There’s no new parts on the fuel line.)- NEW UPPER & LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS. (You can see from the pictures he didn’t do this. Charged me for parts and labor.)- STEEL BRAIDED TRANS COOLER LINE KIT. (Charged me for hose repair? Flared fittings.. Yeah, okay. He didn’t do this. See pictures.- NEW POWER STEERING LINE HOSE (Charged me for a new power steering hose. Hose is not new.)My car must have sat for 6-9 months with no work being completed. What’s the point of having the car? New dent on the front of my car after in his possession. Is this why you recommended I go the Jays ex employee for my paint so Jay won’t see the damage you did to the passenger side bumper? Bruce won’t give any phone call updates. He will say he tried to call. Then he claims he was one digit off on the phone number he dialed. He did this 2 or 3 times. After I threaten to go to the bureau of automotive repair, he suddenly has the correct phone number. My car sat at his shop for almost 7-9 months waiting for a torque converter to arrive. I got sick of waiting and ordered the torque converter myself. The part showed up at my house in just a few business days! Bruce lies up and down. Same cars in his shopfor almost a year. You can’t do this in a small town and get away with it. Word gets out. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.

This business and its sole owner (check the BBB for Kalifornia Speed Shop AND Gen V Automotive) deal in professional theft, they stole my money, that's been my experience. If you want to make a huge down payment on service, never get it done, and then come in 6 months later to discover half of your engine sold off, this is the place to go. Ruined my car and I had to sell it and they still owe me money. Pics attached of the condition my car was left in.Services: Wiper blade installation

I brought my C5 Corvette in to Bruce's automotive repair shop in February 2021 to have engine work done. The car was running but with a heavy knock. I was told the lower end of the engine was shot and would need a full new motor. I had to pay Bruce the sum of $7000 for this motor, a non-refundable down payment "so I wouldn't sc#$w him and walk off without paying him." Seven months passed from me dropping my car off until I started to feel very suspicious because Bruce stopped giving me status updates on the install, forgot what work needed to be done to the vehicle, and was unable to show any due progress in work. He was not working at the shop one day and I had one of his assistants kindly show me my car. The top end of the engine was missing, IE everything from the intake down to the pistons, yet the oil pan had never been removed, thus invalidating his claim of lower end damage. I had to get the BAR involved in order to get my car back from Bruce, even with the missing parts and damage after nearly a year at his shop. Turns out this guy is known in Placer County as a thief by AAA towing, the BAR ETC yet he operates in enough loopholes that he manages to slip away with people's money. BOA even flagged my initial transaction with the man as "fraud" Bruce is also operating under multiple business names, and has been doing so for a number of years. Before Gen V Automotive, it was Pirate Auto, and now it's Kalifornia Speed Shop. He during the time period had actually operated his business under the name of Gen V Automotive AND Kalifornia Speed Shop. The man took my money, performed no repairs, damaged my vehicle, threatened to "make it disappear" even after I paid him.I do not know what differentiates this man from a thief but I'd like my money back. I'm still waiting to this day for him to complete his service. Will upload additional documentation upon request and host supporting media files via independent website.

Appears to be a drug front. I went to have my car fixed here and found Bruce in the middle of a drug deal. Shocking part is Placer County police are just down the street. Anyways, great service except for the fact that he also steals from his customers.
