These guys at five star are fantastic. Great bunch of people they took me in when my vehicle was broke down got me right in and everything worked out just fine. They did a good job. If I could give you a 10 star I would, but it’s only a five here so I’ll have to settle with that

Mark and Dave at Five Star Auto were extremely helpful. They helped me out with a tow and were great at updating me on the status of my car. They are quick, attentive and they obviously care a great deal about their customers. Highly recommend and will be back for future auto needs.

We've taken our cars here for several years and after this week's FANTASTIC experience, I just had to get off my butt and write a review.Whether my wife or I take our cars in, they are always kind, thoughtful, helpful, non-judgmental, and specific with what's happening. They are clear communicators, following up after we drop off a car with information on anything new they learned that needs fixing. We trust them.Just this week they:1. While I knew our serpentine belt needed replacing, they also found the water pump had a leak (bummer, but better to fix it now than later)2. They identified a few other problems but were NOT at all pushy and are happy to help me take care of the "easy stuff"3. When we dropped off the car, instead of just doing "whatever", Sam walked us through all the potential risks based on feedback and bulletins from other mechanics working on our car model. They weren't just going to fix whatever's broken, but clearly communicate and help us understand why4. As I was picking up the car, they heard a new noise and before letting me drive off, the mechanic came out and tightened a loose bolt. Turns out that was a noise we've heard for a long time but I couldn't figure it out (this was over many months). Not only did they take care of it, but they went the extra mile to make sure we drove away happy, content, and solved a problem that had plagued me but couldn't resolve (and tightening the bolt was free, for the record)I really like taking our cars here and love their caring, honest service. Samantha is so amazing to work with.

Had the control arm replaced in record time of any shop ever. Dropped my car off on a Monday late morning, and it was ready by 5 the same day! Excellent service & a fair price.

My Check engine light came on and my car was running rough. I Brought it to five star and they informed me that it was a bad coil. My current warranty was trying to say that the part was not covered due to it being a wearable part, however with the many thanks to Samantha she was able to get the to cover the part and all I had to do was pay for the labor of another part that was not covered. In all I am glad to know there are honest and fair auto shops like Five Star. I now have a new shop I will take my cars to knowing that they have my best interest.Thanks again Sam & Team!Service: Auto maintenance

What went well:- Got me in for a same-day appointment- Did the oil change at a very reasonable price- Checked belts, caught an oil leak issue, advised on next steps- Gave me a written estimate up front, and stuck to itWhat didn't go so well:- Asked for a code scan related to my prius's red "exclamation mark of death". This nearly turned into a $150 charge. When I asked about it, they told me that a basic code scan would be free, but that figuring out if the battery was the issue would cost that much. They didn't think that the difference was something worth discussing, they just handed me the bill and expected me to sign it. We scratched the charge off and they scanned the codes.- Told me the rear brake pads were low and needed replacing. Called another mechanic about this for a follow-up appointment, and they just laughed and told me, with how slowly prius brakes wear, that much pad would last a long long time. I both trust the latter mechanic more and this meshes better with what other mechanics have told me.- Rushed me through the appointment setup, didn't ask any questions (including about the $150 charge for what I thought would be a basic code check). I would've been fine punting to another day if they were squeezing me in and didn't really have time for me, but instead I felt ignored like they didn't think I'd care how much they charged. I did actually have some other minor things I wanted done, but given how they were treating me in the office, I didn't want to deal with asking them for anything extra.- Used conventional oil instead of synthetic, and didn't bother asking me. Previous oil was synthetic, and every mechanic I've talked to has recommended that. I can only take this as an effort to keep price down (they pass the oil cost straight through on the bill, I don't feel ripped off), but I wish they would've asked or at least stuck with the superior product... it's only a few bucks different overall.- Online appointment setup didn't work. That's fine, no other shop I saw had online appointments as an option... but if you're going to offer it, it'd be nice if it worked.Services: General repairs & maintenance
