This place has an interesting assortment of food. Unfortunately, the PRICES ARE VERY HIGH. It's no wonder that Briar Patch had more employees than customers when my wife and I visited late on a weekday afternoon.

Was excited to have BriarPatch open in Auburn to save a trip up the hill to Grass Valley. The store seemed to take forever to open. When it finally did, was very disappointed that they didn't offer what I went there specifically for - bulk product refills. They had some but not what the GV store offers. Also since it's new it didn't have the same vibe as GV. Did not enjoy my shopping trip. Guess it's back to the drawing board going to the GV store. May revisit after they get settled in after a while.

I am so glad this is not a Trader Joe's. Read the ingredients at Trader Joe's. They're horrible! For someone with food sensitivities this store has what I need, for the most part. We still need to check ingredients but I would say that 70% of the ingredients are safe products.I am surprised that their sausage contains highly processed canola, and their brand of baked goods is not organic and contains soy derived ingredients, like Thiamine Mononitrate. For that reason, I only gave it 4 stars.

I love the deli. The poke bowl is generous on the salmon and absolutely phenomenal, and the chipotle chicken burrito is the bomb and beats the chain restaurant's version hands down. The service was fast and friendly, and the outdoor eating area was pleasant. This store is arguably the best stocked co-op in Northern California.

It’s a great store. Employees seem like they were prejudice and when I ask for help they acted kind of squeamish, like they didn’t want to help me. too bad I’ll go back to Whole Foods

This place is ridiculously over priced for the same name brand junk you can get down the street. They pay their workers minimum wage and act like they're helping the world by ripping off gullible yuppies.

This store reminds me of a slightly watered-down Whole Foods. There's nothing wrong with it but it's light on many things and seemed to have a smaller selection of items. I will say that the pumpkin pie at the front sample station was really good and they did have some nice things in that section of the store. I'm not sure it's worth it to go here for things that aren't specialty items though as it's pricey here. Parking was pretty easy though.

We ordered an avocado toast with egg, and this is what they gave us. The toast wasn't even toasted. The bacon was cold and who gives hard boiled eggs on toast. Very upsetting seeing that I always go to briar patch, but this new location is different than the Briarpatch in grass Valley.

BriarPatch began as a natural food buyers Club in 1976. They are now in their 47th year of operation. They give back hundreds of thousands of dollars to local nonprofits. Not only do they specialize in healthy, Earth friendly foods, they also support their local community. BriarPatch offers a great variety of fresh, ready to eat meals, drinks and baked goods. They sell organic vegetables, grains and beans. The cheeses and meats have no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, no antibiotics, no nitrates or hormones. They provide affordable natural, organic and conventional products. This is a great lunch or non-alcohol date spot. Get a smoothie, hot drink or yummy salad or sandwich. Then mosey outside to their back patio. It's private and has a relaxing vibe. If the date is going well, you can always window shop and get to know each other better. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY

So glad to have this spot here! Great selection of organic essentials plus a lot of neat specialty items, all at a reasonable price. Yay!

I was looking for supplements to help with adrenal fatigue and was really impressed with the level of expertise and help I received from Lucian. I live in Grass Valley and love that location too, but the employees are really top notch in Auburn.

Not overly crowded and Steve the cashier was very kind. The homeopathic area is very small so the GV location does trump the Auburn location. Seems as though the clientele is less snooty down in Auburn than GV. So that was a win.

We are familiar with the Briar Patch in Grass Valley which we love. The Auburn location has a long way to go, but we are hoping this will happen over the next year or two. We just had their chicken and rice soup -- the ingredients are top notch, but the broth was almost tasteless. The same for the Thai rice -- excellent nutty dark rice, but almost no flavor. The non-sourdough French baguettes are wonderful, and they have seeded watermelons ?: both worth going back for. The Auburn staff are also very helpful and friendly. The Grass Valley BP is a totally Fun Experience, with far more variety of foods (in all depts, and particulary wrt prepared foods) which are all in our experience....excellent.I hope the Owners bring up the Auburn location to be on par with GV.

The cashier Lauren is rude. I've been shopping in briar patch many times in grass valley and auburn since the first day they opened. I'd rather go to trader Joe's and whole foods again.
