We rescued a purebred 7-year-old dog from a shelter in Oregon last July that came with hidden health problems including heartworms, inflamed bowels, and heart arrhythmia. Only the heartworms were revealed upon the dog's initial wellness checkup. Normally, that's all one might expect to be noticed in such a visit. So the three-month process recommended by the American Heartworm Association to eradicate the heartworms began with a 30-day course of the antibiotic Doxycycline. However, after 3-weeks the dog became critically ill. His liver began failing and Dr. Grimes suggested IV treatments at an emergency pet clinic, which are VERY expensive. We opted for home treatments of several supplements and meds; a much less expensive alternative. Our guy began to respond very positively and a few weeks later he was MUCH better. Then just before we (Dr. Grimes and us) were planning the next phase of the heartworm eradication, that would actually kill the worms, our dog took a downturn within a couple of hours that day. He collapsed on our floor and we had to carry all 60 pounds of him to the car. We rushed him to the clinic and the staff came out to the car and helped carry him directly into treatment. Dr. Hardy and ALL of the assistants immediately began triage, running tests, and providing every possible treatment to save his life. We were VERY gratified and appreciative of their amazing all-out efforts. It was strongly recommended we take him to an emergency pet clinic and the staff set us up with one of them. All the needed test results were transmitted directly to the emergency clinic, so when we arrived the staff there were able to rush into action to help our guy. The heart arrhythmia problem was revealed and the inflamed bowels were confirmed. Unfortunately, the prognosis was pretty poor, and we realized it was time to put our guy out of his misery. Sadly he was euthanized at that point, and we took him home to permanently rest on our rural property in Nevada County under a transplanted tree. All in all, we found the Animal Clinic at Lake of the Pines to be a great resource for pet healthcare. We can't say enough good about the service and staff there. Dr. Grimes gave us a call the day after our ordeal, giving us her heartfelt condolences. When we get another pet, we will definitely return for our new pets healthcare.

Saw Dr. Grimes with my newly adopted fur baby and received a warm welcome from the front staff, very little wait before we were taken into the back, and an equally pleasant and very thorough exam by the doctor. The whole place appeared very clean and organized even if rather tight in space. Prices seemed right in line and offered different options for treatment and products. Left with a genuine offer to stop in for a treat if I'm every in the area so that my pooch doesn't associate only upsetting experiences with the location. I'm staying on board!

They told me that my cats gum disease was incurable, that he needed all of his teeth removed, and that it would cost us $3,000. We took him to get a second opinion, and the vet there gave our little guy 3 shots of different antibiotics and told us that if he did need surgery, the surgery would be $1,200. It's been over a month, and our little guy is back to his old self, eating and playing again and happy as a clam! I wouldn't trust this vet.

New to the area and by far the best checkup our dog has gotten, have had issues with our dog's ears since she was a pup, and LOP Animal Clinic has been the only vet to get to the issues, every other vet took a look wrote a few notes in her records and sent us home with some ear solution, the Staff are super friendly and seem to love their work and Paris thanks them. They will not fax or email a copy of the prescription to chewy pharmacy.

My fur babies had a great 1st visit at ACLOP today! Minnie and Mimzy were greeted with a warm and loving welcome. Friendly and knowledgeable staff answered all my questions. A few pup treats helped to sooth anxious Minnie and some calm and gentle pets made Mimzy feel safe. Happy we found our new veterinary home.

I wasn't actually there for an appointment but dropped off "Memorial" flowers / belated thank you for Dr Hardy. She used to provide the best care for my little seizure dog Lily, who left us a year ago. The office was clean and nice and the staff very friendly and understanding. Thanks to Dr Hardy's excellent care, Lily lived a full life much longer than ever expected.

Today would have been our first appointment here to start off no one was at front desk for 15 minutes after we walked in, then after 45 minutes of waiting outside went back in they finally said we are running behind (no kidding)After a totally of 55 minutes we told them we were leaving the young lady at the desk said you can go home and reschedule. So when I called them when I got home the young lady just kept telling me they were short staffed, I just wanted to know why they could not call us and tell us before going there.Well I will not be rescheduling with them!
