They are awesome here! Very caring and stayed in touch. They helped our senior cat with an emergency tooth extraction. Thank you so much. Thought based on what he was experiencing we were going to have to make a terribly hard decision. We did not have to. Long live Orion!!

Took in my old dog. Very sick. Nothing could be done after tests. They were very nice and handled the situation very well. The price for the tests was very reasonable. Would be twice as much in the city. And no charge to put him to sleep.

Absolutely kind, loving people working here. Our dog passed late in the evening, we took our dog here to be cremated and were met with such patient, caring and genuine staff. They handled our Pablo with such love and respect. Thank you so much for all your kindness and caring staff. The passing of our dog was softened a little by your kindness. Highly recommend this establishment for any and all pet needs. Thank you again.

Love this Vet. I took my Border Terrier to Dr. Schechter to evaluate a partial tear of her cruciate ligament. He really took the time to explain to me what was going on and what to do for her. He wasn't rushed and didn't want to immediately rush her into a $5000 surgery, which my referring Vet had convinced me she needed. I will most likely be using them for future care for all 3 of my dogs, even though they are not as close as my regular Vet.

Professional, communicative and for emergency pet care they are quite affordable. We've been twice with a stray cat we rescued, once was to check him out and take care of a cut on his face which was treated great. Unfortunately (possibly per California law) they did not let us leave with him because he was chipped with a different name. This was devastating at first but they reached out to them and they did not want him anymore. I would have appreciated this being communicated up front RE bringing a stray to them, but it was okay in the end. Our other visit was a surgery for obstructed bowels on the same cat after he decided to eat some rope as a snack. This was handled so incredibly well with multiple ultrasounds, great interim treatment an IV and ultimately surgery. The surgery information and cost was shared in great detail with accurate estimates and tons of info about risks/how it all was going to work. They where successful and although it was about $3000 total, it's worth every penny for such a wonderful young (about 4 years) pet. We are so grateful to them and will be back for any future emergencies.

My cat recently had some testing done at this hospital. Although the results weren't positive, the staff and vets were great. The front desk staff were super welcoming and friendly, and the vets we saw were caring and thorough.

I am so done with these uncaring money grabbing people. when I first went there, they were amazing. this last two months have been total hell. front desk people quoted me prices when I called about an emergenvy, didn't even ask about my dog. doctor was cold and could have cared less I did what she said and it made my dog worse and her comment when I asked for help was I could choose to make him worse or let him die. wth. I am so stunned. went back to el Camino and it was the total opposite. caring, loving and concerned. and not the same diagnosis or treatment plan. he's thriving now what ever changed here is not good.... I'm afraid to even use them as an evet now, I'll drive to arroyo grande before I eve4 set foot in there. and btw,.. they also misdiagnosed another issue and cost me a fortune in the process. BEware. staff changes have made this vet less and less caring and more and more for profit.

My dog ingested lavender salve & my vets office only had one vet so they directed me to Atascadero. I called, they told me to come in so I bundled up my 8lb toy poodle & off we went. when I got into the office I was told I had to call Animal Poison Control and there would be a $95.00 charge for the call. I told the receptionist that I didn't really want to pay fee along with whatever they charged and that was the reason I brought her in, silly me I thought the vet would know about what is poisonous to dogs. I was then told they would not see me until I called so they could follow whatever the poison control said was protocol. I went to my car, called & was cut off twice, so I gave that up and went to another Non Emergency Vet as a walk-in. they immediately saw my dog and put my mind at ease, lavender in the amount listed on the jar would not harm her, just a tummy ache. there is more to this story but I will NEVER EVER step foot into that office again. They are not kind or helpful, I wouldn't say they were specifically rude, just adamant that my dog would not be seen until I called & paid an additional $95 for a consultation. being listed as a emergency facility is a crock, you would probably get better customer at a ER hospital for people. Do not go there.

My dog had a dislocated hip and was referred to Atascadero Pet Hospital,(by my vet) to do the procedure. The moment I got in there, they were very rude and unprofessional. When they gave me a quote, it was complete hog wash and was try to up sale me things, that my dog didn't need! She needed anatesia, her hip to be set and a post xray to make sure it was set accurately. In short, the absolute worst experience I ever endured and will never go back to them again!

By far the most accommodating, friendly, caring and most wonderful staff. The Dr. -owner was by far the best I have dealt with in the central coast. Although I reside in Santa Maria the drive to Atascadero is worth it for the care and compassion one could receive regarding your pet. The Best out of any Emergency Pet Hospital from Orcutt to Paso. I highly recommend over Orcutt and Arroyo Grande 24HR Pet Hospitals❤️??❤️
