2nd time I've been to this thrift store in Atascadero. I always find cute things here. They have 2 fitting rooms and never a line. They have a room dedicated to crafts: sewing, crochet, and other hobbies. The staff are just sweet.

This is by far my husbands and my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is prepared fresh and filled with flavor. The homemade bread is melt in your mouth DELICIOUS! Every dish we've tried has been OUTSTANDING.

This place was pretty good! The food was a little underwhelming but the ambiance and service were amazing. My husband got the potato and blue cheese pizza and said the dough was good but the toppings were meh. It needed more flavor. I got the half chicken and polenta and it was OK. The chicken was cooked really well but the veggies and polenta needed more flavor as well. The wine and cocktails were really great. Overall I'd recommend it to a friend and go back myself but I wouldn't say it was a mind blowing food experience. The marshmallow and caramel ice cream were definitely the best part.

The food was pretty good - great salads, and the white pizza was great! Ambiance was nice in a town where there aren't many other nice restaurants. But, the parking lot/area is a little sketch in the dark. Careful out there!

Make a reservation, this place is just THAT good and everyone knows it!!You can smell the nice char of the open kitchen's wood fired grill. EVERY dish was yummmmy as were the cocktails---wood oven roasted squid: the flavors were so above and beyond, yum---roasted beets: I've been sick of beets but this dish was addictive ---albacore crudo: a light refreshing dish---lasagna and duck ragu: the pasta dishes!---steelhead trout and chicken: the meat dishes!NOTE: They change the menu every month which keeps things fresh!

a good lean toward 3.5 starsArroyo Grande is sleepy town and Ember is a beacon of light around these parts - it's the type of place you go if you're celebrating a birthday or anniversary or if you're from out of town looking for a nice dinner option. I was the latter. To start my friend and I shared the smoked steelhead trout ($14) with Belgian endive, fennel, golden beets, parsley, almond salsa, horseradish crème fraiche. This was very good. The endive/ fennel / golden beets combination offered a refreshing contrast with the smokey trout and welcomed spring in February with one fell swoop. And we ordered a pizza because I could never not. The pepperoni & fired roasted peppers pizza ($26) was fire. It comes topped with tomato sauce whole milk mozzarella, red onion, herbs & Parmesan. The whole milk mozzarella was a nice binder and better yet provided a nice stingy cheese pull. The crust was a little lacking. - a little undercooked and a little less than impressive undercarriage. For my entree, I opted for the house made boudin blanc sausage ($35). This came with buttermilk mashed potatoes + apple-braised cabbage. What is a boudin blanc sausage? Tis a mixture of lean white meat, milk, eggs, butter and lard. It tasted exactly as it is described - a tad mushy and overtly bland. It didn't do it for me flavor or texture wise.I would describe Ember as the nicest restaurant in a small town - a little fanciful and a little different than the typical, but the rickety wooden chairs, awkward dining configuration and subtle menu misses are just reminders that you're in Arroyo Grande.

Let me begin, Yelp review Readers, by stating that Ember in A.G. is a dining experience you do not want to miss! A well established restaurant that has already received a plethora of accolades and this review, much to my delight, will follow suit. The Restaurant itself, is tucked into a corner lot off of Grande Ave in Arroyo Grande. Their parking lot is sufficient, so even if they are busy, with "turn over" you shouldn't have a problem finding a parking space. Approaching the venue, and ultimately being aware of the praises of Ember, I felt my anticipation heighten. Greeted by many as we entered, our party of 4, was seated immediately. The interior of Ember is an open concept with an open Kitchen (the huge Pizza Oven, and an "open fire"Grill will draw your attention), several dining areas surrounding the Bar and on an elevated floor towards the back. A very attractive enclosed Wine Room (well stocked) made me curious enough to draw me towards it after being seated...go have a look, it's amazing. Our Server for the evening, Bill, presented with a welcoming SMILE and Bread Service for the table. I must say...Bill's service for the entire evening was SPOT ON! Kudos Bill, we so enjoyed and appreciated your professionalism, warmth and humor! (Remember, the BRICK is NOT Italian!) The Bread was fresh and warm. To start we ordered several Cocktails: Spice Trade (4/5) (interesting enough, I would highly recommend...a unique taste), White Russian/Tall with heavy Cream (5/5) ( Really Yummy), Mind Haze/Hazy IPA on Tap (4.5/5).The Cocktails impressed...we were off to a great start! Appetizers were up next...BTW, the dishes came out from the kitchen to table after being ordered pretty quickly (10 minutes or so wait). NICE! More Bread Service...again, warm, nice "sour" tang (delicious). Our chosen Appetizers:Wood Oven Roasted Monterey Bay Squid (4.5/5)...amazingly delicious! Southern Fried Green Tomatoes and White Shrimp Salad (5/5)...a must order! (If returning, I would order 2 of these for a party of 4.) Yes...it's that fabulous! Gnocchi, a "Special off Menu" item but do not recall the exact name of dish (4/5). The consensus here was that the Gnocchi were a bit "heavier" than expected, for the rest of the party, but I very much enjoyed them as served. After finishing...our plates were collected and our Mains were immediately served. Mains ordered: 6 Cheese and Bacon w/Blue Cheese Cream Sauce Wood Fired Pizza (4/5),Southern California Swordfish from the Wood Oven (4/5) and finally, Grilled 14oz Ribeye Steak - Medium Rare (5/5). This was "perfection on a plate"! A must try! On a side note, two of the most pleasing things I observed during the meal...1) Chef Adam working his MAGIC in the Open Kitchen and 2) Chef David "at the pass" making sure the quality of all dishes sent to the tables were up to Ember Standard! God I love that. Thank-you gentlemen...well done! The Mains were well portioned and leftovers were taken home. Once the dishes were again cleared, we ordered our Desserts. We all shared a Seared Carrot Cake w/ Brûléed Meringue and Roasted Red Beet Gelato (5/5), a must try (really outstanding) and the Coffee and Dark Chocolate Trifle w/ Pistachio Biscotti (5/5). As we sat enjoying our final after dinner Drinks: an Irish Coffee (4/5) and an Espresso Martini (5/5)...again, a must try (really fabulous w/ the most interesting background tale regarding the 3 Coffee Bean accoutrements on top as told by Bill our Server) , reflecting back on the total dining experience...all we could do was smile. With all Restaurant elements working together and in perfect sync , like a finely tuned machine on this occasion, in this Yelper's opinion...Ember in Arroyo Grande truly earned this 5 Star "highly recommend" review.Enjoy!

Boutique style thrift store. Beautiful decorative displays. Owners are very nice. She makes crafts and sells them in her store. Prices just a little bit high for second hand. But if you're looking for upscale this is it.

This is our first time in Arroyo Grande, coming from Oregon. Ember was highly recommended by a local. When we arrived around 7pm (w/o reservations) on Thursday night, there was a line out the door, with a packed parking lot.We decided to stand in line, and were seated right away. There were plenty of open tables, yet we were given a choice of the drafty table at the entrance or the table by the kitchen (which was almost in the kitchen, such that we found it entertaining watching the pastry chef make Yellow Peach Crostata. We were so close to the pastry chef, that we could chat with him)The Wood Oven Roasted Monterey Squid & Chorizo was so crazy delectable that I was looking forward to the entrées.The Paccheri Pasta & Duck Regu was equally worth ordering.Coming from Oregon, I ordered California Halibut. It was fresh and delicious, but underwhelming compared to the Halibut in Oregon. After watching the pastry chef make Yellow Peach Crostatas for over an hour, we decided to order it.It was also delicious but underwhelming. I expected fresh yellow California peaches but they were over cooked and wilted, such that I will pass on them next time. The overall ambiance and wait staff were great. After reading other Yelp reviews, if I ever come to Ember again, I will order 3 Starters & Share Plates and skip the entrées and dessert.

I've been treated well by the cuisine I've had in the SLO/Pismo area and Ember really follows suit. I found out they have 2 seatings per evening. An early seating and a later seating. If you are trying to have a longer than 90 min dinner, def choose the second seating as the first there will be a soft time limit. Check in with the server and they will let you order a drink and bring it to you while you wait for your table. I ordered the Purple Haze and it was really nice. I hat the tuna crudo as my late lunch had tied up some space in my stomach. It was FANTASTIC. I abstained from desert so I can't make any recommendations there but I will say if you choose to eat at Ember, you're probably gonna have a better meal here than you would elsewhere in SLO/Pismo.
