We had an appointment on the 14th through United Way and Vita for free help, but when we got there, they were already behind and said they stop at 2pm and couldn't see several of us. Completely disappointed, we called H&R Block and asked if they could help. The lady did it in under 15mins and I was told on the phone it would cost $190, but when we paid, we were charged $360!! That's not ok to be LIED to and it was the simple form, not an itemized, complex long form. I'll NEVER go back unless I'm refunded the difference between the different prices and make sure I tell everyone I know to NOT use people who lie to local residents!! ?

Went to pick up all of my tax paperwork from them on Grand Ave in Arroyo Grande Ca and was told that the only paperwork they have is the receipt for filing an extension. She actually started assisting someone else and I had to eventually say that I wasn't leaving without my paperwork! She looks in another small file cabinet and says nothing here. And walked away. I put my purse down and very loudly said that I wasn't leaving until I got my paperwork! Well, she goes to another file cabinet in the back and amazingly there it was ?.I will NEVER GO BACK THERE!

I had no idea that a relatively simple tax return, without itemizing, would be so expensive. Can't really afford to have H & R Block do my taxes.
