Went to the ER for complications with breathing due to Covid. The lobby staff/intake were friendly at first, but as soon as I said I wasn't vaccinated, their demeanor changed and they treated me differently as if it was my fault I was there because I wasn't vaccinated. Once I got placed into a room my nurse was rude and it seemed like I was a inconvenience to her. She then began to lecture me about how I should consider getting the vaccine. Again, not her job to do that. She never once came in to check on me during the entire 4 hours I was there. After 3 hours had past I had to ask for a cup of water. And my husband was never offered any water either. The doctor was professional and nice but I was very disappointed with the nurses. At the end of the day it's my decision to get vaccinated and I shouldn't be treated any less at a hospital because I didn't get vaccinated. Not impressed with the service.

Don't really know how to rate this doctors assistant, I actually never saw him but was told this is the person I should have seen. I spent 3 hours in the emergency dept. waiting for him and finally left when he couldn't be bothered with me then, I get a bill for $845 for not being seen!! I needed stitches in my finger but apparently, actually treating someone in the ER is not in his job description!! they insist I pay the bill, I am turning him into DORA and I will not be paying the bill!!

Dr. Brent Blueit is an absolute perfect neurologist for Parkinson's disease! He's bedside manner is impeccable. He's kind and gives an honest opinion about the situation. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a decent Dr of neurology!

The fact that they say human kindness as there slogan. Leaves you will the feeling like they can not read. You will get anything but human kindness. My child is in and out of this hospital going on the third time. They don't listen, they are not kind, they definitely don't help anyone that might need mental health help or their families. When you are already going through a hard time. They will make it worse. For your sanity and your loved ones. Make the drive to SLO it's definitely worth it!

Our experience here was not very good. We recently went to have an embedded tick looked at. After sitting in the ER for 30 minutes and then to a bed in the back for another 20 minutes - we finally got to talk to a doctor. He took one look, said not to worry as there is no lyme disease carrying ticks in our area - and that the tick was not the right type. We told him not true - that we have friends that contracted Lyme disease from a tick in SLO county. He insisted not to worry and that a nurse would come by to remove the tick. We talked to him for 2 minutes. Then waited another 20 minutes, before a nurse came and told us we were done and free to leave. When we told the nurse about the tick removal the doctor said - we were told to go home and remove the tick with a pair of tweezers. We went home, removed the tick with tweezers, kept it in a container, got/took doxycycline from our friend for two weeks, took the tick to UCLA medical center and confirmed the tick was the Lyme disease carrying specie. I did not get Lyme disease - however, medical services could have been better. The bill for sitting in the ER for about an hour and a half with a 2 minute consult with a doctor was $1,500. Next time, doc in the box! Addendum - I got a call from AG Hospital in regards to this review. Great. I made the call and left a message. No calls after that. AG Hospital is close to my home and I would like to be able to depend on them for help. And perhaps the services have gotten better. However, follow through is very important. The lack thereof looks bad at best. Let us hope this was an oversight and the service has made vast improvements.

Horrible, horrible company to work for. Sooo much racism and prejudiceness going on and higher management is clearly aware of it. Sad to think Dignity Health's motto is HUMAN KINDNESS and they treat you inhumane. People please, please use Tenant Health if you need healthcare services in SLO county.

LIFESAVER ! Soon after we checked into the Shore Cliff Hotel in Pismo Beach late on Thursday Sept 30th ( after 8 hours on the road ) my wife discovered she had a serious medical condition. Straight after dinner ( we were both starving ) we headed over here to seek medical attention and walked into reception about 9pm. I sat in the waiting area while my wife went into an examination room. After some time ( I think I fell asleep in a sitting position in my chair ) my wife emerged looking a tad relieved. I won't go into details for my wife's sake but she was given antibiotics and a prescription. It was close to 11pm when we headed back to our hotel. My wife was in somewhat better condition by the next morning. Thank you staff !

I have been taking my mom around for check ups and service that had been neglected when she was in assisted living. She is 92 years old and almost completely deaf. She can only walk with the use of a walker, so I need to make sure that there is easy access to whatever facility we go to. This beautiful new facility has parking in the back which makes it easy to access the entrance to the Xray department. We were greeted by a friendly assistant who took our temperatures and did a COVID 19 screening on the spot before we entered the waiting room. We then entered the waiting room which is spacious and social distancing was quite easy. The registrar was helpful with cards and signatures, making sure we were aware of everything. We were highly pleased with our visit. From the person doing the scheduling to the greeter at the door to the registrar and the lab tech, every single person went out of their way to help my mom find her way and reassure her of the process. Overall, a great experience!

a review of the ER at AG Hospital. I came in by ambulance with a slip/fall and extreme pain in my knee and leg. I saw a PA, who asked me a few questions (that I had told the EMT, and a very nice NURSE, so can you say redundant? They took an XRAY, I asked for an MRI at my primary physicians request (that I called the day before when the accident occurred) and they (the PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT, said the following" WE DON"T DO MRI's EXCEPT IN EXTREME EMERGENCY like HEAD INJURY, ACCIDENT" So, this was an accident, and not only DID THEY REFUSE AN MRI, I NEVER SAW A DOCTOR. They sent me home without any offer of pain medication, and a bunch of papers that said "if not better in 7 days, call your physician".WHAT HORRIFIC CARE.

Per Julie R. at AGCH "6/15/2020 Good afternoon, Paul. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We believe in treating everyone with dignity, and we are sorry to hear that was not your experience with our hospital. Our Patient Experience Director would like the opportunity to look further into your issue; please contact our Director of Patient Experience at (805) 473-7600." This is exactly what I'm talking about. Julie R. from AGCH responded to my review and called me "Paul" clearly making it evident that she didn't even read it. Hey Julie R., Paul was the ED STAFF I spoke to...Fantastic job Julie R.!! Also spoke with another family member after writing this review... my mother fell and hit her head about 8 months ago, leaving lacerations to her head and knees. After waiting 6 hours in the ED, some one canes out to the waiting area, wiped her wounds and discharged her. NO check for a head injury, NO X-rays, NO follow-up.

I brought my son in today to be cared for and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much this hospital has improved not only the estética of the ER but overall it has been an excellent experience. The checking part and waiting time was quick and professional. We weren't in the the room more then 15 minutes and were greeted by an RN & PA. May i also say the entire staff was so caring, they even gave my granddaughter a stuffed toy to play with, noticing she was scared that her dad was being put through all these tests. The PA and RN were informative and supportive, also they jumped on treatment quickly. I was very apprehensive because my son had his insurance suspended and I didn't want him stuck with a huge bill, I was relieved when the billing department talked to us with no judgment and in a caring way, she applied for emergency medical and set our minds at ease! Thank you, thank you Dignity in AG. As a worried mother you made my hectic day easier. I can't express my happiness to your facility.

On October 2019 I had MRI for my lower back done at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (Dignity Health). I was charged over $7000 for it!!! I've done several MRIs before in different places and never ever was charged so much. I contacted my insurance company and Dignity Health billing department. They re-checked charges and there was no mistake!!! I ended up paying $2000 as copay. Will never go that place again. Super expensive!!!

MIND YOU BEFORE READING I NEVER LEAVE REVIEWS. After taking my 14mo old in for a visit I felt obligated to. My son came down with a type of sickness horrible cough, runny nose, and fevers that reached all the way to 105. Wednesday night was a rough one and I know he couldn't hold out until his pediatrician could see him, Friday ( Today, 1/17). When we arrived that night at the hospital the nurse that was checking my sons vitals made it seem like we were stupid for even bringing him in. She began lecturing us instead of informing us about interchanging medications at home Motrin, Tylenol, Motrin, Tylenol and so on. Thus helping with keeping the fever completely in control.. SORRY WE ARENT DOCTORS. After finally getting back to a room we saw a doctor who was very nice but seemed like he needed to tend to other important things. Without running any real test FLU??? RSV??? NOTHING. All he did was sent him home with a inhaler and told us about "Keeping up with medication to keep the fevers under control" This sickness had now been going on for 3 1/2 days.. today we checked in with his own pediatrician. DR.MACLEAN in Santa Maria!! THE BEST !! He immediately tested him for Flu and Rsv! SURE ENOUGH MY SON HAD THE FLU BECAUSE HE TOOK THE TIME TO CHECK HIM OUT. My poor 14 mo old was suffering because this hospital didn't take the time to fully diagnose him!! Shame on you guys, I WILL NEVER BE BACK. I will much rather take the drive to San Luis or even Santa Maria!!!

Second visit. Went the 21st then went to primary care doc cuz antibiotics were the wrong one. Primary gave me different and now same symptoms. Primary says go back to ER...the same ER. What a mistake! Dr. Jacobsen is incompetent. He did not examine me, ask me any questions and didn't even know I'd been battling this for 2 1/2 weeks! The pain is horrible...or I wouldn't have bothered you in! My B/P is high as ever and my head throbbing too! I've taken 800mg ibprophen and 1000 Extra Strength Tylenol TOGETHER and still massive pain Any place is only as good as those who work in and represent your business. I'm a widow mom of 4 girls, not a drug seeking junkie! It's getting WAY in the ridiculous zone to deny pain management for 24 hours until , hopefully, the third round of antibiotics works Shame on you, Arroyo Grande Hospital. You don't have a clue of how poor your quality of care is! You call yourself a "community" hospital? Well, I'm a member of this community and I will drive on down the road to another, any other hospital! Yes. Shame on you. I will let my friends and family know this truth. If you're reading this review, I would say I wish they had negative stars because that's what I'd give this one! Sad. Truly sad....horrible quality in your Physicians ****Another visit to this ER. A lot of remodeling in a hospital that completely is void of quality care! Worst doctor. However, the nurse was awesome and belongs in an upstanding hospital! I will drive to Templeton to an outstanding ER! This place has gotten sooo much worse!!!!! Never again. If you need an ER....take the drive to Five Cities Hospital! REALLY!
