I would stay away from this hotel. I booked through Priceline and due to COVID on last minute had to cancel my trip. I requested manager to cancel the reservation even it’s a week ahead. Manager declined to refund and cancel the reservation, not sure how these guys are running business. Stay away!!

This was the most disgusting room I have stayed in. The bathroom floors and tv remote were sticky, the room was dirty, and the north side of the building is right by a McDonald's Drive-thru with loud vehicles constantly driving by the window, waking you up throughout the night.

I've only viewed it as it is very reasonable.Location is great if you have an automobile to get around. So I'm staying again in the Super 8 in EurekaNearby activities: The pacific ocean, Redwoods and beach and be sure to visit Arcata..Great little town with a central marketplace.

Stayed here because everything else was either booked of didn’t allow a dog. So I got a room but that was it. The place is a dump. First room they gave me wasn’t even made up. Second one was beat and looked like there had been a serious domestic dispute there. The bathroom door had holes in ot from being kicked and punched. The lino was peeling, everything needed paint and new caulking, its just a dump. Even the bath tub was broken so I couldnt use the shower. Yes the TUB was broken. They would only refund $10 after all that. And to top it off there was a transient feeding on what little they provided as “breakfast”. D U M P! The place needs a serious rehab and new management.

I stayed three nights at this hotel in room 208, which I found to be a pretty standard Super 8 experience. Good value for a no frills room, basically clean, not spotless but acceptable. Bathroom was run down, with the finish worn off of the tub and a hole in the back of the door. They have made some efforts to spruce the place up, but it could use with some modernization. TV was pretty old but had a decent selection of channels. Carpet could/should be replaced, as there was a unidentifiable sour smell in the room the whole three days, despite my efforts to air the room out. No pool or fitness facilities. They offer free coffee and granola bars until 9:30AM, nice touch for a budget hotel. Location was very good, right off the 101 freeway within five minutes of downtown Arcata, next to MacDonalds and across the street from other restaurants and a supermarket. Staff were all excellent, from my experience. As I said, a good value compared to other hotel prices in the area, just be aware that it’s very basic. Tip - if you book on Agoda, you can save some money on the room.

First room we were brought to literally had a shattered window with glass everywhere. Second room had no shattered glass but It needed major updates. Mostly, it needed to be deep cleaned. There was stuff in the fridge from God knows when, the carpet looked and felt like it had never been cleaned, and it's a REALLY old carpet. We also were right next to the McDonald's drive thru, so we could hear all the action. It was difficult to rest.Rooms: Old, outdated.

Another run down and dated hotel in the area. These places dominate the north coast, which is unfortunate. Like the others, the staff is the only redeeming value for this Super 8. If you have the time, I recommend reserving an Air BNB or VRBO instead. They're often available for the same price.

Comfortable beds and convenient surrounding food options. In addition, great free parking. There is no elevator at the location. The location is pet friendly and good walking locations.Rooms: Our room was basic, but clean and good air conditioning and comfortable beds and good TV channel selection.Safety: The location seemed very safe.Food & drinks: There is a McDonald's right next to the hotel .

I said, "I'm checking into room 232."Receptionist said, "Are you Jason?"I said,"No I'm Mark."Receptionist said, "232 is taken."I said, "How can it be take if Jason hasn't moved in yet?"Receptionist said, " It's taken until Wednesday."I said, "My reservation is for that room and if he hasn't moved in then I want it."Receptionist said, "It doesn't matter what your request says."I said," We called the main office and were promised that room. It isn't easy getting anybody to answer here. We had to call repeatedly for 40 minutes, but were promised that room."Receptionist said, "You'll have to move on Wednesday."I said, "If Jason hasn't moved in why can't I get the room?"Receptionist said,"I don't have to give you that room."I said," What is your name so I can put it on a yelp review?"Receptionist said,"I'll just cancel your reservation I'm not allowing you to stay here."I said,"I've stayed here an average of 15 days a month for the past five months and I'm a Windham Awards member.Receptionist said, "You can't stay her now."This receptionist is way out of line. She was smirking and laughing at me when she canceled my reservation.

Kicked 2 firefighters out of our room because the room smelled of smoke! We came to the hotel after a 14 hour wildfire shift, on labor day, to find out that we were locked out of our room because it smelled like smoke and we were accused of smoking cigarettes in the room. They gave zero notification ahead of time, so we didn't have an opportunity to find a new hotel. Nor did we get an opportunity to discuss the misunderstanding since the management won't be around until the next day. Completely unprofessional, the ponytailed man at the front desk was quite rude to us as well. We had to run around to find a new hotel at 8pm on labor day. Don't go here. Rooms aren't worth the money and you will be treated like trash.Rooms: Small and not worth the moneyNearby activities: Watching your vehicle to make sure the vagrants and druggies don't steal your stuffNoteworthy details: Rude staff, unprofessional practices, and lack of management.

Made it into Humboldt co. for work and totally forgot to make hotel reservations in willow creek/ Hoopa area. Everything was booked. Called the 8 first. Jim, the front desk guy was very professional over the phone as well as accommodating. Got into town not expecting much from the establishment... If I could give more stars for service I would. The room is very clean and grounds well kept. And that fella Jim was very helpful everytime I went to the front desk to annoy him with everything from where was the best food to what to order. Even tho it's 35 miles past my working location this is my new home away in Humboldt. Serious tho, since COVID I often Karen out about how people forgot what good service and being a good human is. Jim is a major asset to this super 8. Thank you!!

Clean sheets and towels and nice front desk guy but overall this hotel was dank and a sad case for $200 a night. The carpet was damp in the room, there was a mirror that was super sketchy, and while the wall unit air conditioner did work, the air that came out had a smell that I can only describe as "dirty feet." All night. Feet. Thin walls, dated decor, complementary breakfast was granola bars, tiny cellophane danishes and watered down coffee. Entire building needs a good scrub and some paint, and the carpet looks to have been there since 1966.

The rooms are pretty basic, but it's one of the few that allow pets in the area so because of that I recommend staying there if you bring your dog or cat. Just so you know the breakfast is nothing more than coffee, pre-packaged Danish, granola bars and bananas.

This is an economy hotel; as such, it was clean, pet friendly, and safe. There was a nice area behind it for walking the dog which seemed very safe and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was the best hotel we've stayed in (in this area) that was affordable and clean, and it was located in an area that made you feel secure.
