This place is a gem . I wish every town had something like this. They allow van-lifers/ car camper/ homeless, people to park in the lots and have a port-a-potty. I stayed here for a few days and the community was chill. There are electric vehicle charging stations available as well. Someone here claimed that there are "tweakers" everywhere and that it's a sketchy place . Not my experience at all. Everyone minding their own business here

One person talked about the people living in there cars. Yes there r some.its the drug heads that have all the junk. And fight and yelling. But the outher people who stay are clean have a small income just trying to stay alive not all are on meth or blues. Plus most of the post I read made me believe this place a bad place. There is no trash on ball field the whole grounds are clean there r 2 tweakers up top full of drugs and crazy people the cops are getting them out thisSunday. But 80 percentof the post are lies about this place. Kids are here all the time top parking lot is bad the rest of the post r old white rice peoplemaking a big deal out of 2 vans to scare youoff from a clean and safe place they want 4 them selfs.

This Community Center may be the most successful and useful thing Arcata has ever pulled together. 40 years ago it was a dairy field full of cows. Now it presents a spacious and modern Community Hall with good parking and thoughtful layout. The access by car, bicycle or on foot is about as good as it gets. The ballparks, soccer fields and greens are well kept and it has an excellent kids playground with climbing wall. The seniors get fed here and the venue can support almost any group.

Excellent community center in Arcata with catering kitchen, nice restrooms, ADA parking and nearby park. Also serves as sporting arena. Fun large event space.
