“I loved every single item in this store. Excellent prices, even better customer service. I was very happy with my purchase and can't wait to return to buy more!”
“I had an amazing experience at this store! The owner was very kind and helpful in pulling dresses for me, and her selection was stunning. I look forward to stopping by again soon!”
“I’m in town from DFW. Since I had some extra time, I decided to stop in. They had some nice pieces at very affordable prices.
It was mostly older women shopping, so some of the pieces seemed to align more to that crowd. However, it wasn’t limited, just maybe a bit more geared toward them. Some women were shopping for a cruise and hit the jackpot with dresses.
No one greeted me, but maybe that’s just a southern thing. If I’m back, I’d definitely give them another chance based on other reviews.
Also, it’s kind of tucked into a neighborhood, so if you’re not looking, you may miss it.”
“I first experienced Clothes Heaven in the late 80s. It was a favorite of mine at the time. You can always find one of a kind, spectacular threads there. Larayne always takes a personal interest in all her clients- in a short period of time she picks up on a person's sartorial style and preferences. Her "sale room" is my favorite place to start. It is always filled with an abundance of choices and sizes.”
“This place is a gem! Really great finds and Jazmin is very knowledgeable as to the inventory and history of so many of the pieces. I didn’t buy anything today but definitely coming back for some storage pieces.”
“Cool owner, cool staff, awesome merch. Reminds me of shopping on Melrose & Hollywood Blvd. in the 80's. Posters, T-shirts, Clothing, LPs, CDs you name it. Great place to find gifts for friends & for yourself. :)”
“I've been going to this spot to thrift for years and I gotta say that even when i don't find what I'm looking for originally, I still end up finding something I wasn't looking for at a good bargain and just as cool. You get to know the owners for a while little by little, their respect and service keeps getting exceptional. If you know how to thrift, you know there are successes and misses, but Son of a Vet is still a fun place to find whatever attracts your interest and amusement.”
“Awesome store, with lots of great items, Fair prices. Only thing is some of the items for sale here belong to someone who isn't physically there. So the woman at the register calls that person, tells him/ her what item(s) I was interested in, and then a price was given. So no haggling for a lower price. Other than that, it's an awesome store with a huge variety of vintage/ antique items.Btw. If you plan on checking this place out. Clear some of your schedule for that day, so you have enough time to see everything. I spent about 45min- hour in the store. Probably saw only 40% of the items.”
“This store has great items. For very low price. The only thing that they close so early on the weekends at 3pm. It would be wonderful if they stay open at later hours. Especially on the weekends.”

1325 Huntington Dr, South Pasadena“3rd Generation is my favorite place to buy antique and custom-made jewlery. The diamonds are real, not lab grown. The prices are great. I am always a satisfied customer and strongly Recommend 3rd generation for all your jewelry, Watches, necklaces, rings, and antique painting Clocks, etc. etc. You will enjoy the experience of a home feel establishment. You can't go wrong At 3rd Generation! Jimmy V.”
“Stop by about once a month too see what's new. Have purchased many items over the years, most reasonably priced, others just had to have. Very nice a helpful staff.”
“I have tried many times to have iSold It help me sell some items on EBay. So far I only had success several years ago. In their new location, they require you to make an appointment because the main door to the suite of offices works on the buzzer system. I did not know that this time. I arrived late after closing and could not get in. I wised up and called the next day. Hal was very helpful. My item, an upper dish rack for a Bosch dishwasher, apparently typically sells on eBay for around $100. I recall buying it from the manufacturer only about three or four months before the dishwasher failed and I had to replace the whole thing. The rack does not fit in the new model. The problem he pointed out was that most sellers were offering free shipping. He passed And accepting the item because he believed the free shipping would likely wipe out any profit we might get. I appreciated getting the advice so quickly so then I could find another way to dispose of the item. When I suggested that maybe I could try to sell it locally through Facebook Marketplace, he reminded me that the universe of buyers when you're selling something local that has a very specific purpose like this is very small so I might have to wait a long time. My primary goal was to declutter my house. If I could make a few dollars, that would have been good but it's not worth the hassle to have to keep it around until I find just the right local buyer. So, to sum up, my rating is based on Hal's very quickly supplied advice so that I knew what direction I wanted to go in.”
“I made a side quest on a rainy day to drive out to Covina to visit this famed vintage jeans store. For years I've scoured Ebay, Poshmark, and other reseller sites pining for the perfect fit jeans. Never found a pair that fit perfectly. When I arrived, I was greeted by Rick. He asked if I'd been there before and I told him no and what I was there for. (I was very serious about leaving there with a pair of jeans) He took one look at me and within the first few minutes of being in the shop he had already picked out a pair of orange tabbed Levis that were from the 90s and made in the USA - they fit me like a glove. I spent the next 2 hours or so, elbow deep in vintage jeans, prying for more pairs that would fit me (I'm quite tall), trying on every pair I thought would fit over my hips. In the end, I would leave their shop with 3 pairs of Levis. All different washes. They fit amazingly. I gagged at the prices - what an absolute steal. Syd is so so sweet. She helped me find my fit, gave me notes and even checked the backroom for me. Rick is literally the man!! He is so kind and funny. He's a sweetheart and had me laughing the entire time. I enjoyed talking to him about life/music and joking around with the resellers who were there buying stock. I appreciate this small store and the people who run it. Make sure you have enough time to really try multiple pairs of jeans and really look through the piles. Come ready to work, wear sweatpants you can easily take on and off. Happy hunting!”
“Over the years we have purchased at least 6 military surplus tents from RDD (the very large 18'x36' tents). RDD modified our tents with custom doors and window additions. Great service and custom modifications!”
“What a lovely store. They have a thrift shop with housewares, clothes, and furniture, as well as new pottery (large and small) for plants with a very extensive selection. The exterior shop extends around the neighboring auto shop and massage business. I will definitely be back!”
“I have no opinions on how the shopping experience of this location is because I've never shopped for anything here before. Over the last few months, I have made countless drop offs here with donations because my mom is downsizing her home and she's finally getting rid of decades of clothes and shoes and this location ALWAYS makes it easy to come in and drop it off and move on with my day. Maybe one day I'll stop by and do some shopping inside the store.”
“ramona helped us out today. she made it a memorable experience. amazing customer service. shes so sweet and so welcoming. thank you for everything. she helped me find things i needed! will definitely come back because of her! shout out ramona! shes a star!!!!”
“Not sure how often a thrift store checks Yelp, but there's only a handful of thrifts I enjoy visiting. When the Goodwill down the street closed, my favorites got narrowed down to this location and the Goodwill in diamond bar. Stores can't really control what they get donated- but I always have luck finding things at this location both in clothing and housewares. Mostly leaving the review because I don't come into contact with many kind (not overbearing with "obligatory"/friendly generic question) customer service employees. Today I got to ask the associate working what his name was, because he's been kind to speak to in both brief checkout interactions I've had recently. So here's a Yelp shoutout to Tony, thank you for being a kind human being in a thrift store that I can find good treasures in!”
“Jeffrey is running a great store!
Great selections and a super pleasant staff! My wife and I have gone to other locations, but the staff here shows a lot of personality and excitement for when we have brought product in to sell. They show great passion for what they do and not just showing up for the job.”
“I like it here. If you sign up online for waitlist to sell you never have to wait long. Also they can only buy what will sell quickly so don’t be offended when they don’t buy your new unworn clothes if it isn’t trending or seasonal. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it but now I find selling here to be fun and I make some extra spending money.”
“I was nervous a bit nervous selling one of my bags for the first time but found it to be super easy with the help of Yuki ! <3 She was very sweet and explained the process very thoroughly to me. I was also very happy with the quote from their corp office :)) would recommend to friends”
