This little nook deserves a standing ovation. This salon on 1st Ave is exactly the type of salon I was looking for. Samir is an experienced stylist w decades of work under his belt. He is very easy to talk to and does what you want, not what he wants. He will discuss fully your options w coloring or cutting. He's not trying to upsell you on something you don't want. It's a comfortable place with no pretensions.

This is the worst salon I have ever been to Susan is the worst hairdresser I have ever been to if I could go back in time and warn myself about the terrible job Susan would do and botched up hair coloring and haircut I would she left my hair patchy burnt and rust color I asked for light brown highlights and I got rust and two orange yellow strips for bangs and when I told her how unsatisfied I was with my hair coloring and haircut she refused to do anything about the price and when I told her I didn't have enough cash because they don't take credit cards she said I should leave something like a watch or earrings I mean what kind of hair salon does that it took her five hours to do a hair coloring that I did not ask for she is the worst hairstylist in the world and I say that with confidence Susan if you're reading this I hate you

I can always trust Joe and Susan to do a great job on my hair. They have both been gracious if I've wanted small things changed afterwards and they're willing to be honest and tell you if something you're planning is maybe not the best idea and they'll take the time to explain why.
Joe's schedule gets pretty full so definitely schedule in advance.

Joe is the only hair stylist in all of Los Angeles that has not given me a terrible cut. He can also fix all my horrible cuts others have given me. I live in Newport Beach and now drive to Arcadia for a haircut. And when I lived in Santa Monica I would drive to Arcadia. Whenever I went to a different hairdresser that was closer to me and recommended by friends, they ruined my hair not just once but every time. And Joe magically fixed it so I choose to commute to him when I need a haircut. He's a magician with the scissors!

This place is awesome. Joe is super friendly, talented and the haircut he gave me has garnered a ton of compliments. Other stylists there have done a great job as well. Highly recommended.
