I visit this store biweekly and have visited this store when it was previously known as maido. I love the expansion to books and even more stationary. One of the most interesting stores available and they always manage to have new items/recent items from Japan, with great prices! I would recommend it to everybody if I could.

Kinokuniya in Arcadia is a treasure trove for Japanese stationery lovers. I recently bought a variety of items, including rubber stamps, postcards, and Traveler's Notebook inserts. The store is well-organized and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's a must-visit spot for anyone looking to explore unique and high-quality Japanese stationery.

Love how many books and hobby stuff there is, best place to get imported media (Japanese), sure the prices are high but they are imported and that does cost a lot to imported from Japan. Plenty of Godzilla Media/Merch.

The store has an amazing variety of items, books, model kits, etc. Everything there is something I'd want to buy, but their prices are far above average.
They have pokemon themed board books for $13 that on Amazon can be purchased for $7.
The metal earth kits are also atheist $3-7 above average prices.
If you don't like Amazon and want to spend extra to avoid it then go for it.
If you don't have the excess money, I'd go to Amazon, or other chain stores.

It's one of the few bookstores, if not the only bookstore, at the Santa Anita mall. Not only that, it has tons of manga, guides, cookbooks, action figure sets, writing supplies, toys, and more!

One of the last stores with travelers notebooks, fountain pens, and inks. Soon, AI will take it over and we will have to write only with our thoughts. Don't let this happen. Revolt against the machines!

Excellent selection of Japanese literature, manga, and art books. Plenty of collectibles, writing supplies, pens and notebooks, and some Japanese snacks, too.

EXTREMELY RUDE EMPLOYEES!!!! there was a great selection in the store, a bit crowded and pretty pricey too. One employee was walking by and hit me with a step ladder and rolled her eyes at me, and then I was still browsing the stickers at the front and a female cashier began to yell at me to check out my items and leave. It was 12pm, what was the rush?? I work customer service too, I understand it's frusturating, but yelling at customers and rolling their eyes after you hit someone? Seriously??

This place is the worst for people starting their journey of stationery addiction... Because you would spend HOURS here (I did) just looking and baffled by the selection of stationery items, especially the pens, there's just heaps of them here with all the refills you'll ever need! 10/10 would burn my time here again!!!

Most disappointing of their locations I've been to. Boxes were stacked up in the aisles, completely blocking one of the Japanese manga aisles, making it entirely inaccessible. The selection on manga was very small, if you're looking for anything that isn't super popular, you won't find it at this one. Too much of the store is dedicated to items that have no relation to books, like gunpla kits (and they didn't even have a good selection on those). This location feels like its spreading itself too thin and not delivering on any product category effectively. On top of that, one of the staff became very short tempered and unfriendly with me just for asking if they had a certain title in stock, which I couldn't check for myself because of the pile of boxes completely blocking the aisle.
